Ben Stiller Teases ‘Severance' Season 3, Ariana Grande's Role in ‘Meet the Parents 4'
Ben Stiller sat down with Zane Lowe for an in-depth chat about his upcoming projects, which include Season Three of his hit Apple TV show Severance and the fourth installment of the Meet the Parents franchise, which has added Ariana Grande to the cast.
While Severance's second season just wrapped, Stiller revealed to Lowe that he and the team behind the show are already thinking about where to take the series for its third season. 'Probably the most challenging thing making stuff these days is there's so much out there: video games, phones, movies, TV, everything,' he said. 'To have something that there's going to be an audience waiting for it and they're going to be critical and they're going to be really ready for it and asking questions and you need to make sure it's good, but they're there.'

Ben Stiller Says Ariana Grande's Role in 'Meet the Parents 4' Is 'the Whole Engine' of Film
He added that as he's considering the next batch of episodes, he is asking the same questions he asked while making the first season. '[All of us who are making the show are] going back to that instinct inside. What do we want to see? What interests us? What do we think will be surprising? What do we think will be true to the show? It is a question on a show like this, what is the heart of the show? Is it the relationships? Is it the mystery? Is it what is Lumon up to?'
Stiller keeps any potential plot points close to the chest but added that 'human connection' is a big part of what drives the show. 'To me, anything that I ever watch, it's always on an emotional level, when something hits me on an emotional level, moves me, makes me feel connected to the world or to other people in some way, that's what it's all about,' he continued. 'That's always been what the point of the show is.'
Another big project Stiller recently announced is Meet the Parents 4, which puts the director and famed comedic actor back in front of the camera. Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo are confirmed to reprise their roles in the blockbuster franchise, which will hit theaters in 2026. Ariana Grande will join the cast this time.
'She's amazing,' Stiller said, praising her role in Wicked. 'I can't really say too much about it, but she's going to be so great in this movie, and it's going to be really fun to play with her because it's a very specific character that she's playing. I think these movies are all about the family interactions. Everybody wants to get along with everybody, but we all have our baggage.'
Stiller previously commented on the role during a cast reunion on The Today Show, stating that she will be the 'whole engine' of the next installment. Later, The Hollywood Reporter divulged that Grande would play the 'ball-busting' fiancée to Stiller and Polo's son in the film.

Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others.' Bieber has long been outspoken about his faith, and a recent article claimed that the singer keeps his pastor among the friends in his 'inner orbit.' Now, fans are also hoping to send some holy vibes his way, with a number of Bieber prayer candles popping up online. Great for Beliebers and believers alike, the fan-made merch is inspired by traditional votive candles often found in churches and cathedrals. Shrinking Season 3: Everything We Know So Far
Jimmy has grieved and he has forgiven, but what's going to happen when he tries to move on? That's what we'll soon find out once Shrinking (which was renewed for a third season back in October) returns to Apple TV+. And if you're anything like us, you're already hankering for some news. Among the details we do know: The season is currently in production with just two episodes left to shoot. More from TVLine Save the Dates: Brett Goldstein's Apple Movie, Hallmark's Christmas at Sea and More Foundation Season 3 Trailer: Gaal Battles the Mule to Prevent the End of Everything - Watch Rachel Brosnahan to Follow Up Superman With Presumed Innocent Season 2 Lead Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (Jason Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people's lives, including his own, all while trying to repair his relationship with his teenage daughter, Alice (Lukita Maxwell). Harrison Ford plays Jimmy's senior therapist colleague Paul. The cast also includes Jessica Williams (The Daily Show), Christa Miller (Cougar Town), Michael Urie (Ugly Betty), Ted McGinley (Married… With Children) and Luke Tennie (Players). Brett Goldstein joined the cast in Season 2 as Louis, the drunk driver who killed Jimmy's wife. While we all wait for the therapists to resume their sessions, scroll down to learn everything we know so far about Season 3 of Apple TV+'s hit dramedy. Shrinking has added some highly impressive names to its Season 3 roster including Michael J. Fox. His appearance marks a reunion with creator Bill Lawrence (the two worked together on Spin City) and the actor's return to TV after five years. While his new role remains under wraps, it's possible that it may be connected to Ford's therapist Paul, who has been dealing with his Parkinson's diagnosis since Season 1, a disease Fox has been battling for over three decades. (Could Fox potentially be playing… himself?) Fox's last role was a two-episode stint on The Good Fight, where he reprised his Good Wife character Louis Canning in 2020. Emmy winner Jeff Daniels is also joining the season as Jimmy's dad in a guest arc. And at the Bill Lawrence & Friends panel at ATX TV Festival moderated by TVLine's own Ryan Schwartz, the creator let it slip that Murphy Brown's Candice Bergen would also be appearing. 'I didn't expect to have career highlights at this point in my career, and I was on set about 10 days ago watching Harrison Ford, Mike Fox and Candice Bergen — oops, spoiler! — acting together,' he said. 'For me, that was my childhood.' Bergen's character details remain TBA. All of the series' main cast will be back, including Segel, Maxwell, Ford, Williams, Miller, Urie, McGinley and Tennie. Wendie Malick is also a safe bet. The jury is out on whether Goldstein (who is also a writer and executive producer) will return for Season 3, however, Lawrence did have this to say about Goldstein's Louis: 'I think we told a deep enough story that even if it's not a huge part of the third season, people are going to want to know what moving forward means for that character and that he's gonna be OK. I think it would be fake to imply that at the end of the finale, that dude's OK. So, yeah, I'm going to strong-arm Brett into showing his face, hopefully, at least a couple more times.' As for Cobie Smulders (who plays Sofi, a woman Jimmy bought a car from toward the end of Season 2), the cast confirmed the How I Met Your Mother vet's return at an Apple TV+ FYC panel held May 17 in Los Angeles. You can hear Miller speaking about working with Smulders at the very top of this video. Season 3 will examine what moving on looks like for the gang, Lawrence told TVLine, whether they're welcoming a new baby into their home (Brian and Charlie), bracing oneself for a worsening condition (Paul) or trying to grow up without the presence of a parent (Alice). And perhaps Jimmy will find himself a new romantic partner? Shrinking Season 3 does not currently have a release date, but when it does, we'll update this post with the news. Like Season 2, Shrinking's third run will be comprised of 12 episodes. There's no trailer yet for Shrinking Season 3. But we'll add the video to this post as soon as it becomes available. All episodes of Shrinking are streaming exclusively on Apple TV+.
