She was known as fashion's 'It Girl' but this year Nadia Fairfax's birthday bash looked very different after her falling out with Kristin Fisher as host of famous faces stay away

Daily Mail23-04-2025
Nadia Fairfax's birthday parties have long been the talk of Sydney.
Known as the 'It Girl' of Australian fashion, her celebrations each year were once an eastern suburbs high society fixture with miles-long Who's Who guest lists.
But this year, Nadia has kept her 36th birthday bash low-key and nixed her annual hashtag 'PartywithNardy' as her tight girl group continues to shrink following her falling out with eyebrow queen Kristin Fisher.
Sharing several stunning photographs of the event to her Instagram on Tuesday, Nadia was all smiles as she celebrated with her nearest and dearest.
The event appeared to be garden party themed, with some guests seen dishing up delicious plates of food.
Everyone donned their best clothes as they enjoyed drinks inside Nadia's lavish home, before they moved the gathering out into the yard.
Other guests could be seen dancing up a storm.
Nadia was seen embracing her closest pals, but there were some very notable faces missing from her garden soirée.
PR guru Montarna McDonald was absent from the birthday celebrations, despite the 35-year-old once dubbing Nadia her 'partner in crime ' in a 2021 social media post.
The pair were so close that Nadia even met her financier husband Michael Wayne at Montarna's December 2018 wedding to ex-partner Nick Pitt.
Deborah Symond O'Neil also did not attend, despite inviting Nadia to her Sydney society husband Ned O'Neil's 40th celebration in May last year.
The Aussie Home Loans heiress, 36, was frequently seen running in the same girl group as Nadia which, at its peak, including faces like McDonald, Kate Waterhouse, Phoebe Burgess, Elliot Garnaut and Jasmine Yarbrough, among others.
Nadia was also a fixture at Deborah's 'mates-moon' following her wedding to Ned.
In June 2018, Deborah invited Nadia and other female friends onto her father John Symond's superyacht Hasna to celebrate her new married life.
But it seems their relationship may have cooled as Deborah was notably absent from Nadia's birthday celebrations this week.
Another high-society name who didn't attend the soirée was stylist Elliot Garnaut.
Nadia and Elliot, 34, were once attached at the hip and attended several events together, with Elliot styling the blonde beauty for her outings.
However, Elliot was nowhere to be seen in the images Nadia shared to her socials. Nor were Pilates queen Bernadette Fahey or heiress Lou O'Neil.
Hamilton Island owner Nicky Oatley also ran in the same circles as Nadia.
Daily Mail Australia understands Nadia even asked Nicky to be the godmother to her one-year-old daughter Cordelia just months ahead of her birthday party, but the honour was politely declined as Nicky doesn't consider her a close friend.
But the most notably absent face from Nadia's 36th was Double Bay eyebrow artist Kristin Fisher, with the pair suffering a very public falling out in 2021.
Sydney's elite social set was rocked by rumours the former best friends went their separate ways in the wake of Kristin's cocaine scandal that year.
Kristin, 39, was allegedly caught buying cocaine on July 17, 2021 after a drug dealer was pulled over by police for driving erratically in Bondi.
The cocaine drama went unnoticed by the media for months, before suddenly making headlines in September 2021.
Kristin and Nadia unfollowed each other on Instagram at about the same time, though it was unclear why.
When Daily Mail Australia contacted the women for comment, they quietly refollowed each other on the social media app.
Nadia also insisted she hadn't fallen out with Kristin - despite rumours of their rift being the talk of the eastern suburbs.
'What you're speculating is factually incorrect,' she said.
'Kristin and I have had a wonderful friendship over the years and I continue to wish her well throughout her current situation, and no doubt you'll hear the same from Kristin.
'I had no prior knowledge of the [cocaine] incident, and found out just like everyone else through the media.'
The most notably absent face from Nadia's 36th was Double Bay eyebrow artist Kristin Fisher, with the pair suffering a very public falling out in 2021
However, once the media scrutiny lifted, Kristin and Nadia once again unfollowed each other.
In March 2021, months before the cocaine scandal broke, Kristin served as a bridesmaid at Nadia's multimillion-dollar wedding to financier Michael.
Kristin's daughter Lila was a flower girl at the ritzy nuptials, which were held at a heritage-listed mansion in Sydney's Darling Point.
Documenting the occasion at the time, Kristin uploaded images of herself celebrating with Nadia, adding the caption: 'Our best friends' wedding.'
But in the weeks following the cocaine saga, Nadia and Kristin were untagged in each other's Instagram photos from the wedding.
On the evening of 17 July, 2021, Kristin was allegedly caught buying cocaine after her drug dealer was pulled over by police for driving erratically.
Kristin was convicted and fined $550 after she failed to appear in Waverley Court in September 2021, charged with possessing a prohibited drug and failing to comply with public health orders.
However, in October, she managed to convince the court to annul her conviction for cocaine possession, earning a six-month conditional release order and a stern warning from Magistrate Ross Hudson.

Kathy Griffin, 64, continues to show off THIRD facelift as she steps out in Malibu

continued to show off her third facelift during a solo outing in Malibu on Thursday. The 64-year-old comedian - who first unveiled the latest cosmetic procedure earlier this month - was seen stopping by a gym for a Pilates session during the daytime excursion. The TV personality confirmed that she underwent the surgery on an episode of her Talk Your Head Off podcast. Kathy kept it casual wearing a pair of fitted, blue leggings as well as a short-sleeved, dark navy shirt. She additionally slipped into a pair of black, Croc flats and easily carried a vibrant blue purse in her hand. Her reddish locks fell down past her shoulders in natural waves while her bangs fell onto her forehead. Kathy flashed a cheerful smile as she made her way through a crowded parking lot towards the gym. The My Life On The D-List star recently commented on her recent taut appearance during an episode of her podcast which aired earlier this month. 'Very taut is also very true!' the actress said, before confirming she had underwent another facelift. 'It's my third. I know that's so vain! I'm so vain for no reason. 'No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face. You come to hear my jokes, which is what I want.' She continued, 'I don't want you to come to care what I look like. I'm in Lululemons today for God's sake. I'm in my fat pants. I don't have dysmorphia... I have a little.' Kathy gave candid details about the procedure and shared to her fans that her facelift was done by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei. The comedian - who previously presented him a Daytime Beauty Award in 2023 - then gushed, 'I love him, I can't say enough good about him.' Along with the facelift, the star also got a foxy eye lift, work done on her chin as well as a blepharoplasty - which 'removes excess skin from the eyelids,' per Mayo Clinic. 'There's a stitch in my chin, which you're probably not going to see unless you're under me, but not in that way,' she explained. 'I'm going to be honest. It's painful. So these bi***es that are like, "It's like getting a tooth filled! It's nothing!" No, it's painful.' Afterwards, Kathy went to a 'rich lady recovery place' and then returned home. 'You get out of that place and you come home and maybe you come home with a nurse, and it's disgusting. I'm not going to lie. The first night there's drains that come out of your chin. I know it's so gross. But the vanity takes over.' And last week, the Emmy winner unveiled her facelift and wrinkle-free appearance during an outing in Malibu. One month earlier in July, the actress l ooked nearly unrecognizable as she sported a wild hairstyle in L.A. Kathy - who had half of her left lung removed during a 2021 cancer battle - has opened up about ageism in the entertainment industry in the past, such as when she interviewed with Deadline back in 2016. 'I hear it all the time,' she said, referencing to comments she has gotten about her age over the years. 'I've been hearing it since I was 30, from managers, agents, studio heads and network executives.' Kathy continued, 'I'm sure I heard it in the last year. They really think nothing of saying to me, "You're really funny, but they've decided to go younger." It's so common for a woman to hear that. 'I don't think anyone ever told them you're not supposed to say that. They think it's still a legitimate reason for someone not to get a job...' The comedian's plastic surgery journey began back in 1986 when she had a nose job at the age of 26. Other procedures she has undergone in the past include a brow-lift, breast enlargement and near-fatal liposuction. Kathy is preparing to hit the stage later this year for two shows and referenced her latest cosmetic surgery in the tour name which is called: New Face, New Tour. On November 8, she is slated to perform in Las Vegas at the Criss Angel Theater at Planet Hollywood. And later that same month, the comedian will also hold a show in Anaheim, California on November 22. Kathy made the announcement in July and shared, 'Just when you thought I was done… I come back better than ever in classic Griffin fashion! 'I'm happy to announce two new upcoming shows this November. Find me in the glamorous Las Vegas on November 8th and Anaheim on November 22nd.'

Celeste Barber breaks silence on shock 'Photoshop' scandal after appearing on glossy magazine cover: 'It's gonna piss some of you off'

Celeste Barber has responded to critics after she was widely slammed for her appearance on the cover of the upcoming September issue of Marie Claire. The comedian, 43, who is best known for poking fun at over-produced photos and videos often posted by beautiful models, has been accused of becoming 'what she mocked' by posing for the 'heavily photoshopped' cover shoot on her feed. However on Thursday, Celeste defiantly returned to Instagram to push back at her naysayers - insisting that her image wasn't photoshopped. 'Hi, I need to tell you all something about this photo shoot, and it's going to piss some of you off. It's not photoshopped! I just look that f**king good! I know!' Celeste said. 'You guys are so used to me showing you what I look like as a slapped arse. This is me as well! Guys, I just look this good,' she continued. Celeste went on to praise the creative team for transforming her into a covergirl. 'It's hard - I just look this good when there's 15 kilos of hair put on my head and then Koh [hairstylist] has to snatch my face up to give me a bit of a Kris Jenner lift to hold the wig in place,' she said. She went on to praise her makeup artist who painted her face 'like an absolute wizard,' adding: 'I have a feeling, I think they actually shipped lighting in for this, because sister needs a bit of help.' Celeste then credited her photographer for his 'amazing angles with the camera', before reiterating: 'This is just how I look. I'm so sorry, but I look f**king great.' The cover, which she shared to Instagram on Wednesday, saw Celeste attempting to stay true to her roots as she parodied singer Jennifer Lopez 's infamous 2000 Grammys green dress. However, some followers were left outraged to see how much Photoshop was used to give Celeste a flawless, almost unrecognisable visage in the image. 'How can you allow so much Photoshop when all you sell is authenticity?' one person wrote to the comedian. 'So photoshopped. What's a shame,' another added, as a third penned: 'Ah the irony.' 'Did they not know you were beautiful before? Isn't the whole point of the entire bit that you laugh in the face of the celebrity airbrush culture?' said someone else. 'And she became what she mocked,' one user commented. Others decided to turn the blame on Marie Claire. 'The amount of editing your photography team has done to Celeste goes against everything she stands for,' one outraged follower said. 'Heavily photoshopped Celeste Barber is sacrilege,' another agreed. Someone else stood up for Celeste, saying the media personality had every right to pose for a glamour shoot because she was 'making an impact' on the world. 'To connect with the regular normal day to day person is her shtick,' they added. 'If you don't understand that and solely judge from this picture then you don't know anything about her nor Marie Claire nor what it is to be a woman standing for other women!' Celeste is known for mocking models and celebrities for their over-the-top glamour shots and saucy videos flaunting their trim figures. Celeste was accused of becoming 'what she mocked' after she posed for the glamour shoot and shared it to Instagram In April, she left locals appalled with her latest stunt in Paris when she strolled the streets of the French capital in nothing but her undies. In footage shared to Instagram, she pranced around in her skimpy smalls sipping a coffee, mocking similar footage filmed by a young model in Italy. However, onlookers appeared less thrilled at her brazen display, with some pointing in disgust at her wild sideshow. The social media star captioned the footage with some amusing words. 'It's important to blend in when travelling,' she wrote.

Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown adopts ‘sweet baby girl'

The Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, have announced they have become parents after adopting a 'sweet baby girl'. Brown, 21, and Bongiovi, 23, said in a statement on social media that they were 'beyond excited' to enter the next chapter of their lives. Alongside a sketch of a tree, the couple wrote on Instagram on Thursday: 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.' The post, which was accompanied by the Beatles song Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, continued: 'And then there were 3.' Brown, best known for her role as Eleven in the Netflix drama Stranger Things, and Bongiovi, a model who is the son of the musician Jon Bon Jovi, married last October after their engagement in 2023. Alongside photos from their wedding last year, Bongiovi wrote in a post at the time: 'Forever and always, your husband.' Brown has previously spoken about wanting to become a parent, adding that she wanted a large family with her husband. She mentioned the possibility of adopting. Speaking in March on the SmartLess podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, the actor said: 'Jake knows how important it is to me [to have a child].' Brown, who recently appeared alongside Chris Pratt in sci-fi film The Electric State, added: 'Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family, for me, personally.' In 2023, the publication of Brown's debut novel reignited a debate over ghostwritten celebrity books. Nineteen Steps, inspired by her grandmother's experience of the 1943 Bethnal Green tube disaster, was ghostwritten by author Kathleen McGurl yet the cover of the book featured only Brown's name. In response to a subsequently deleted tweet by Waterstones promoting the book, many X users had criticised the star. Brown had posted an image on Instagram of herself holding the book standing next to McGurl, with the caption: 'I couldn't have done this without you!' Zoella (the media personality Zoë Sugg), Katie Price and Naomi Campbell are among celebrities who have also used ghostwriters for their fiction books.
