Israel-Palestine conflict: En route Gaza, Greta Thunberg's boat rescues 4 Sudanese migrants from Mediterranean Sea

A vessel en route to Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid with climate activist on board has rescued several migrants from the Mediterranean Sea near Crete, an island in Greece. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, of which Greta is a member, launched the vessel named Madleen, which had received a distress signal from a boat in the Mediterranean, as reported by a support group in Greece. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The Madleen has a '12-member crew of activists' on board to break the blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza. The Madleen had set sail from Sicily on Sunday. Upon arrival (at the scene), Madleen discovered that the boat was 'sinking with approximately 30-35 people aboard'. The Madleen launched its own inflatable rescue boat when it encountered a Libyan coastguard vessel, which initially identified itself as Egyptian. To avoid being captured by the Libyan authorities, four Sudanese individuals had jumped into the water. Greta Thunberg's ship rescued them. "Libya is not considered a safe country, and for this reason, some of the refugees jumped into the sea to avoid being returned there', said the support group, as cited by the AFP. The Madleen had rescued four Sudanese individuals who had jumped into the water. The group of activists stated that after several hours of pleading for help, the rescued individuals were finally picked up by a Frontex Vessel, the EU's border and coastguard agency, as reported by AFP. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition was initially launched in 2010 and is a non-violent international movement in support of Palestinians. Madleen is carrying essential supplies like milk, rice, protein bars, and tinned food for Palestinians in the war-battered Gaza Strip. Climate activist Greta Thunberg is among 12 people aboard the vessel Madleen, which set sail on Sunday in an effort to break the naval blockade on Gaza. The voyage, expected to last seven days, seeks to deliver humanitarian aid and draw global attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian territory. Also on board are Game of Thrones actor Liam Cunningham and Rima Hassan, a French MEP of Palestinian heritage, who has been denied entry into Israel due to her vocal criticism of Israel's military actions in Gaza.

Jay Z bets $1 million on Oklahoma City Thunder to win in 5 games, here's how much he stands to profit

Image credit: Getty Images Rapper Jay Z is betting big this NBA season and it's not Tyrese Haliburton who is currently the talk of the world for his game-winning shot that made the Indiana Pacers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder. Jay Z has placed a bet of a whopping $1 million on the Oklahoma City Thunder, which lost Game 1 of the NBA Finals. He has bet on the Thunder to win the NBA Championship in a total of five games, to be precise. All about Jay Z's bet for NBA Finals According to Jay-Z has bet $1 million with good friend Michael Rubin's Fanatics Sportsbook. If the rapper is able to win the bet, he will reap a profit of $2.3 million while walking away with a total prize money of $3.3 million. As the news was shared on X, many refused to believe it, whereas many wondered at how rich the rapper was. Reacting to the news, an X user wrote, 'Already lost.' Another said, 'But how much is Drake betting and on what? that's the real question.' Questioning the entire information, an X user wrote, 'This is so corny . Using Jay Z to influence others to place bets. Meanwhile he's probably using fanatics sponsored funds smh. ' An X user reacted to Jay Z's betting, 'Imagine being so rich betting a cool mil is like me betting a penny.' Another said, 'And I was sweating my $15 bet last night…. Oooookayyy.' One more commented, 'FAKE. I can't bet more than $5.' A comment also read: 'I have never understood rich people betting - unless just for fun. I can understand betting on a team to win, but to do so specifically in 5 games seems ridiculous. I would get much more satisfaction from randomly giving away $100,000.00 to 10 (or $10,000.00 to 100) needy people.' Another read: 'Still waiting to get into your vip program that I opted into …smh.' "Money wasn't the issue": Aaron Rodgers' deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers remains confidential as NFL insider hints at contract details

Aaron Rodgers remained a free agent for a few months.(Image via Getty Images) Aaron Rodgers, the NFL veteran, has finally put all rumours to rest as the Pittsburgh Steelers announced last night that the star player is all set to join the team for the upcoming season of the NFL after a physical. After Aaron Rodgers left the New York Jets a few months ago following a devastating season, there were constant speculations over which team he would end up joining. While Aaron Rodgers might be a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the contract details have not been revealed yet but NFL insider, Gerry Dulac, has revealed a few interesting things about the deal. NFL Insider Gerry Dulac opens up about how it was 'always a one year offer' for Aaron Rodgers Recently, NFL insider Gerry Dulac took to X and revealed details about Aaron Rodgers' one year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The post read as, 'Money was NEVER the issue in deal with Aaron Rodgers. It was always a one-year offer for less than $20 million.' A fan commented, 'So fn what?!? He's going to be 42 in season. Fanboys out there acting like we're getting prime A. Rodgers. This team is going nowhere with him under C', while another fan wrote, 'Never thought money was an issue, he just is who he is at least he's signing before mini camp which I honestly didn't think he would.' Aaron Rodgers said, 'I don't have a relationship with my dad. So, I think that one thing that changed for me, at least when we were still in each other's lives, was when we grow up, we think our parents are Superman and Superwoman and they can do no wrong.' The NFL veteran added, 'And then you get older and you realize they're just like you and I, just out there trying to do their best…So the resentment that I had at times…He was just trying to do the best he could…' In the last few weeks, the NFL veteran has been brutally trolled as he chose to remain a free agent even when all other players were signing new deals. Aaron Rodgers has yet to react to his deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
