Jakob Breum transfer stance made clear to Celtic as timeline set on price drop

Daily Record2 days ago
The Hoops have already seen offers turned down for the Danish winger this summer
Go Ahead Eagles have made it clear that they won't sell Celtic target Jakob Breum for anything less than £5million this summer.

Record Sport understands that the Dutch side won't budge on their selling price because they have to pay 25 per cent of a sell-on to his former club, Odense.

Go Ahead have also qualified for the Europa Conference League and they want to keep their top stars for that.

Record Sport has also learnt that the Danish under-21 cap would be available for a fraction of the price, nearer £2million if he was to remain until next summer.
Celtic have made an offer and held further talks but went in at just over £1.5 million that was dismissed.
The Hoops have been reluctant to go close to Go Ahead's current fee.
Unless they or another club meet the asking price then he won't be leaving Holland in this window.

Propper said: "I completely disagree that I somehow failed at Rangers. "It was an adventure I wanted to embark on, at a wonderful club with an incredibly rich history. "Many Dutch players have played there as well. "I got to play and score in an Old Firm match for example. That was fantastic. "Even as a little boy, you know Rangers v Celtic is a huge, historic match, one that's even watched in the Netherlands. "It was incredible for me to experience that. "The lead-up to the matches where the city of Glasgow is 50 per cent Rangers and 50 per cent Celtic was amazing. "Well, I got to play in five of those games. "I had a wonderful time both at Rangers and the four of us as a family spent a lovely year in Glasgow. Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson on FC Groningen friendly

The Reds secured an historic third successive promotion last term and as part of the preparations for the 2025-26 Championship campaign, Parkinson's men will face the Dutch top-flight side tomorrow at De Langeleegte in Veendam, (3pm kick-off local time), although away supporters are not allowed to attend the game at the request of the local authorities. Groningen finished 13th in the Eredivisie last season, after winning promotion back to the top division at the first attempt the previous campaign. That final friendly takes place on the back of the pre-season tour Down Under where Wrexham played Melbourne Victory and Sydney in Australia before heading to New Zealand to face Wellington Phoenix. All pre-season games have been played away from home because The Racecourse pitch has been renovated over the summer, and Wrexham are also away on the opening day of the Championship campaign when Parkinson's men face Southampton, relegated from the Premier League last term, at St Marys Stadium on Saturday August 9. "It was important that we got a very competitive friendly on August 2 after coming back from Australia," said Parkinson. "Obviously we can't use our own pitch because we want to give that the most time possible to bed-in. "We have been looking at options and we have been in dialogue (with FC Groningen), and we feel that it is a good game against a strong Eredivisie team, but also not too far to travel. "I am very pleased and feel it is a good fit for what we need." The Wrexham Down Under Tour followed on from two highly successful pre-season tours to the USA, the first in 2023 which included a clash against Manchester United, followed by the Wrex Coast Tour in 2024 with the headline fixture against another Premier League side in Chelsea. The club has become a global sensation under Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and Parkinson feels Wrexham are much-sought after opponents for high-profile friendlies. "Wrexham is an attractive proposition, hence the reason we have been able to agree to the friendlies," added the Reds' boss. "I couldn't have imagined that a few years ago but it is where the profile of he club is now, and obviously we are Championship standard as well."
