Toronto gets shoutout in ‘Final Jeopardy' question

Anyone in Toronto watching 'Jeopardy!' Tuesday night likely had the correct answer to the quiz show's final question.
The category was 'Famous Structures' and the spelling of one of the words in the clue likely gave the all-American contestants a hint.
'In April 2018 an MLB game was postponed after ice falling from this structure punctured the roof of Rogers Centre,' the question read.
The answer, of course, is the CN Tower.
'Rogers Centre is where the Blue Jays play. You gotta look out for falling ice,' host Ken Jennings joked.
On April 16, 2018, after a bout of winter-like weather, ice fell from the city's iconic landmark and caused damage to the Jays' diamond down below. The Rogers Centre said at the time that the ice tore through the building's retractable roof and caused water to leak onto the field.
The Jays were scheduled to play the Kansas City Royals that Monday, but the game was cancelled and the teams played a double header the following day.
Peter Vorissis, a writer and teacher from Los Angeles, couldn't come up with the answer and opted to shout out his friends instead.
Geoff Barnes, an analyst from Washington, D.C., and Stella Trout, a software engineer from Houston, both answered correctly, with the latter finishing first with US$28,800.

Lewis has tied Sean Millington for the second-longest streak in CFL history and he's now one away from tying the record of 10 games with a touchdown pass set by Terry Evanshen in 1967-68. In fact, Joe Couch didn't even punt the football in the first half but he was busy as Saskatchewan's field goal and convert holder. Couch had some tense moments tough on his first snap of the game as he bobbled the hold on a 53-yard attempt before pitching it back to kicker Brett Lauther, who made a great play to punt it as far as he did. Couch settled in just fine after that. However, Saskatchewan signed another punter earlier this week, so the situation is worth monitoring heading into Week 2. Article content Article content 10. Not to bring up a bad memory but remember last year when Roughriders kicker Brett Lauther missed four field goals in a game against the Montreal Alouettes? Since then, Lauther has missed just one field goal — going 29 for 30 — including 23 straight. Lauther is also just six points shy of 1,000 for his career. Also deserving of a shout-out is long snapper Jorgen Hus, who has been along the way for all those points as he played his 150th career game on Thursday night. Article content

Vancouver man arrested after driving into Pacific Coliseum entrance during performance, police say
A 30-year-old man been arrested after driving a vehicle into the Pacific Coliseum on Thursday night, say Vancouver police. Police said on X, formerly Twitter, that the suspect drove a vehicle into the front entrance of the arena, located at East Vancouver's Hastings Park, during a Cirque du Soleil performance. Arena security detained the man and police officers took him into custody. Police said that while it is still early in the investigation, the incident "does not appear to be an act of terrorism." The suspect, a Vancouver resident, was apprehended under the Mental Health Act, police said. Police said there are no reported injuries. B.C. Emergency Health Services said it received a call at 8:02 p.m. regarding a single-vehicle collision at Pacific Coliseum. Three units responded to the scene and paramedics transported one patient.
