Premier League Preview: The fans' view

Ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season we spoke to fans of all 20 clubs to get their views on the upcoming campaign. Here, we chatted to AFC Flair about all things Arsenal. What lessons need to be learned from last season? One lesson that has to be learnt from last season, is that we need more depth. We had too many injuries and now we have brought in the depth we needed we should be able to compete. What's your view on the manager? It's do or die now Arteta, he has to deliver Arsenal trophies. He has spent the last five years building this squad and we have finished second in the last three seasons. It's time to start delivering especially with the squad we now have. What's your verdict on the transfer window so far? I think that this transfer window has been underwhelming for Arsenal, the signings of Mosquera and Zubimendi have been good. But the rest of the signings don't make me scream Premier League champions come the end of the campaign. There has been a lot of talk about Eze, however his preferred position is as a no.10. If we are buying him for the left-wing, it's a bad signing. And the fact that we splashed £50M on Noni Madueke infuriated me ever more. Yes, he's a good player and i'm happy that he's here as he is good depth, but £50M for a bench player? However, Viktor Gyokeres was a good signing, let's just see if he lives up to the hype and expectations in the Premier League. One player to watch from your club this season is? I think Martin Zubimendi and Max Dowman will be great additions to the squad. They're the ones to watch for me. The most underrated player at your club is… The most underrated player at Arsenal is, by far, Jakub Kiwior. The way he stepped up for Gabriel at the end of last season was extraordinary. He deserves more game time. The game you're most looking forward to is… I'm most looking forward to playing Liverpool. These last few years we have put a fight up against them. Now that we have strengthened and they have strengthened it should be a good watch, also in terms of the title race. What opposition player do you secretly admire? I do secretly admire Jeremie Frimpong. I think he's a fantastic player, his speed and the way he helps that right-hand side. Liverpool did really well getting him for the price they did. This season your team will finish… Arsenal will finish second again this season. Simply, we haven't got a good enough squad yet to win the league. A statement signing on that left-hand side is needed then maybe I will say first, but it would need to be either a Rodrygo or Rafael Leao for me to start saying that. ESPN Insider Wouldn't Be Surprised If Patriots Won AFC East In 2025

Expectations surrounding the New England Patriots are much higher this summer than they were last year. It's understandable, too, considering the amount of talent the team brought in this offseason. It's not a stretch to say that most people expect the Patriots to at least challenge for a playoff spot in 2025. After all, oddsmakers in Vegas have the team's win total set at 8.5, which would be more than double the wins the team had in 2024. Unfortunately for the Patriots, though, they play in the AFC East, which is the same division as the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are among the favorites to reach the Super Bowl, so winning the division may be a pipe dream for the Patriots this season. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler doesn't consider it a pipe dream, though. In fact, Fowler said he wouldn't be surprised if the Patriots do win the AFC East. 'I am not only buying Patriots stock, it would not surprise me if they won the AFC East,' Fowler declared on ESPN's 'Get Up.' 'They've loaded up on the offensive line. They've loaded up — defensive line's looking real good. There's just something about Drake Maye, I do feel he's going to make a massive jump. Buffalo is still the favorite, but I'm gonna put it right there. I think they have a chance to win it.' As Fowler mentioned, the Patriots have certainly loaded up on the offensive and defensive lines, and we all know how important it is to be sturdy in the trenches. The team added Morgan Moses and Garrett Bradbury in free agency to the offensive line, and then drafted Will Campbell and Jared Wilson to further bolster the unit. On defense, the team added Milton Williams and Khyiris Tonga to a line that already included Christian Barmore and Jeremiah Pharms Jr. The team also brought in star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, cornerback Carlton Davis II, and linebacker Robert Spillane. It's hard to see a glaring hole on this roster anymore, and the Patriots also have the luxury of playing one of the lightest schedules in the league as well. Will that lead to a division win? You probably shouldn't count on it, but improvement seems certain. Chiefs vs. Cardinals: DB Jaden Hicks intercepts QB Kyler Murray in preseason action

The Kansas City Chiefs took an early lead over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 of the NFL preseason, and second-year defensive back Jaden Hicks did his best to make sure that the defending AFC champions wouldn't face a deficit while he was in the game. After an Arizona fumble on the opening kickoff gave Patrick Mahomes the chance he needed to score a touchdown, Hicks stepped in to intercept Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray on Kansas City's first defensive stand. Take a look at this video of Hicks' outstanding pick, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs' official account: Given the departure of veteran safety Justin Reid in free agency, Hicks is expected to step into an important role for Kansas City's defense this season. If he can continue putting together impressive showings in the preseason, Hicks could soon become a household name as a key contributor for the reigning AFC champions.
