Xiaomi is offering its own XRING O1 chipset on the new Ultra tablet and Xiaomi 15 series phone but these products are limited to its home market.
Xiaomi makes phones, laptops and even EVs. Now, the company has entered the big boy arena with its new 3nm chipset that is powering the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet. The new hardware made in-house is Xiaomi's big attempt to rival Google Tensor and Apple A-series chipsets, not in terms of the performance but its ability.
The Pad 7 Ultra and Xiaomi 15s Pro models are getting a taste of the XRING O1 chipset, confined to China for now. The Pad 7 Ultra is the latest addition to its Pad 7 series in the region.
Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra With XRING O1 Chipset: What It Offers
The tablet features a 14-inch 3.2K OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the XRING O1 chipset with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. We will have to wait for the benchmark scores to tell its power but going with an Ultra moniker means it should ideally compare with the Snapdragon 8 Gen or the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series chipsets.
The device comes with a 50MP rear and a 32MP front camera for videos, selfies and meetings. It has eight speakers with Dolby Atmos support and will work with the keyboard and stylus that you buy separately. You get the HyperOS 2.0 version out of the box and multiple upgrades promised.
The tablet packs a 12,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging and it weighs around 609 grams and a slim frame.
Xiaomi did sign a multi-year deal with Qualcomm to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen chipsets globally for phones like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and more.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablet price starts around Rs 67,000 in China, where you have the Galaxy Tab S10 series and the iPad Air 13-inch model.

Qualcomm fixes 3 critical chip vulnerabilities exploited by hackers: List of chipsets affected

Qualcomm has announced that it has released patches for a series of vulnerabilities affecting dozens of its chips, including three zero-day flaws that the chipmaker says may be under active exploitation by hackers. Qualcomm cited Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG), which focuses on government-backed cyberattacks, indicating that these three flaws 'may be under limited, targeted exploitation.' According to the information revealed by the company, the vulnerabilities were reported to Qualcomm by Google's Android security team in February. What it means for users Due to the open-source and distributed nature of Android, applying these patches for phones running on affected chipsets now falls to individual device manufacturers, such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo and more. This means some devices may remain vulnerable for several weeks, even though fixes are available. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 夢の農場を作り上げよう アドベンチャーゲーム ゲームをプレイ Undo Qualcomm stated in its bulletin that patches were provided to device makers in May, with a strong recommendation for immediate deployment. As per TechCrunch, Qualcomm spokesperson Dave Schefcik acknowledged the fixes, urging "end users to apply security updates as they become available from device makers." Meanwhile, Google spokesperson Ed Fernandez confirmed that Google's Pixel devices are not affected by these specific Qualcomm vulnerabilities. Chipsets in mobile devices are frequent targets for zero-day exploit developers due to their broad access to the operating system. This allows attackers to potentially move to other sensitive data areas on the device. Zero-day vulnerabilities are unknown to the software or hardware maker at the time of discovery, making them valuable targets for cybercriminals and state-sponsored hackers. Samsung has set the ball rolling with its first official teaser for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 series devices. Samsung is expected to make some big changes to the design and hardware setup of its next foldables and this teaser helps us get excited for the new products coming out next month. The launch teaser for the new foldable suggests Samsung will be making a thinner variant, with Ultra-like flagship features, better cameras but in a portable form factor. The teaser video has a silhouette of the upcoming foldable and it clearly shows us an almost crease-less display and a sleek design in tow. The use of Ultra for the Galaxy Fold series will be an intriguing move if it comes through but it could be Samsung's way of saying get the S25 Ultra features in this form factor. The company is also quick to highlight the Galaxy AI features that will be part of the device and with the new design gives you better ways to make use of the smart replies features for your emails on-the-go. Samsung's previous Galaxy Fold iterations have seen incremental updates, but that have gotten lighter and easier to manage. But it is time for the brand to really up the stakes and give a solid fight to other brands in the segment that have shown the virtues of a sleek foldable without any hardware compromises. We're eager to see how the new foldables look, feel and perform. Samsung is also going to be happy about its efforts with the new Galaxy S25 Edge model that seems to have the right durability to handle our daily usage. The screen has been protected with ceramic coating which seems to have helped the Galaxy S25 Edge handle a lot of rough stuff and the platform confirms that the quality is reliable and does not show any permanent damage. More importantly, the titanium frame of the device has managed to hold up even after they tried to bend the phone with intense pressure to see if it cracks, and looks like it doesn't.
