Man seen riding E-scooter fighting for life after being found with head injuries
Emergency services were contacted after a 49-year-old was found badly injured on Strathmore Drive at around 3.40am on Friday.
He was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as critical.
Police have said the man had left an address on Cairnwell Place around midnight and was riding an E-scooter in the Strathmore Drive and Gadie Crescent area.
He was later seen walking with the E-scooter where he appeared to be injured.
The man is described as White, wearing a blue puffer jacket, blue jeans & black trainers. Police are appealing for any witnesses in the area to come forward as they carry out enquiries.
Detective Inspector Andrew Wilson, Police Scotland, said: 'From our investigation so far, we know that the man left an address on Cairnwell Place around midnight and was riding an E-scooter in the Strathmore Drive/Gadie Crescent area.
'Around 30 minutes later, he was seen walking with his E-scooter from Gadie Crescent onto Strathmore Drive where he appeared to be injured. He was later traced in Strathmore Drive and and taken to hospital.
'His E-scooter has not been found.
'Detectives have been carrying out door to door enquiries, checking CCTV, doorbell and dash-cam footage to establish exactly how the man came about his injuries.
'We'd urge anyone who may have seen the man or know what happened to him to come forward. He is described as White, wearing a blue puffer jacket, blue jeans & black trainers.
'Police remain in the area.

Concerns are increasing for a missing Scots woman with split earlobes after she was reported missing from a Scots city days ago. Police are appealing to the public after carrying out extensive efforts to trace Colette Docherty, who vanished from the city centre of Glasgow on Friday. Austin Ironside, 25, was found seriously hurt at the home on Skene Street in Aberdeen. A major murder probe was launched into Austin's death following the tragedy. Detectives from Police Scotland's major case team were called in to probe the death after it was deemed 'suspicious' by investigating officers. Cops sealed off the scene outside the home as the probe into Austin's death got underway. Officers have now confirmed a 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death. But investigators revealed the probe is still ongoing and they have unearthed positive leads in their enquiry into what happened. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of 25-year-old Austin Ironside in Aberdeen. 'Austin was found injured on Skene Street around 3.10pm on Sunday, 3 August, 2025. He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he later died on Tuesday, 5 August, 2025.
