APL- 4 opens with dazzling ceremony in Visakhapatnam
The opening ceremony featured power-packed performances by Tollywood actress Pragya Jaiswal and music director Charan Pakala, who also composed the anthem for the current APL season. Laser and drone shows enthralled the audience before the match.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and popular actor Daggubati Venkatesh, who is also the brand ambassador for APL Season-4, attended the event as chief guests. ACA President and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath accorded them a warm welcome.
Several political leaders, including TDP State President Palla Srinivas, TDP MPs K Appala Naidu and M Sribharat, and BJP State chief P Madhav were also present.
The trophy for the season was unveiled by the Union Minister, the brand ambassador, and the captains of the seven participating teams.

ED summons in illegal betting apps case According to a report by IANS, the 'Baahubali' actor reached the ED's regional office in Basheerbagh, Hyderabad, around 10:30 a.m., responding to a summons issued by the central agency. Rana is the third actor to appear before the ED in this matter, following Vijay Deverakonda and Prakash Raj. He was initially asked to appear on July 23 but sought an alternative date due to prior film shooting commitments. The agency had agreed, scheduling his questioning for today. The ED's investigation comes from allegations that multiple celebrities promoted or endorsed betting platforms that violate the Public Gambling Act of 1867. The agency had also summoned people like Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, Manchu Lakshmi, and others over the same case in July. Prakash Raj appeared on July 30, Vijay Deverakonda was summoned on August 6, and Manchu Lakshmi is to appear on August 13. Sports fest to commemorate VMRDA's Foundation Day
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) chairperson MV Pranav Gopal mentioned that involving employees in sports events relieves them of stress, makes them happy and work as a team in a productive manner. Speaking after inaugurating sports competitions organised as part of the VMRDA's Foundation Day celebrations, he underlined that a holistic physical activity is very important to lead a healthy life and it can be achieved through sports. The sports event was inaugurated at the Port Stadium on Saturday by TDP state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao, MLAs Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, PGVR Naidu (Ganababu) and Ch Vamsi Krishna Srinivas Yadav, and Vishwanadh Sports Club chairman Boddeti Kasi Vishwanath. To encourage players, they took part in cricket and tug of war at the stadium. Encouraging sports enthusiasts, the MLAs underlined the need for the employees to participate in such sports events and stay fit. The VMRDA team, MLAs and public representatives took part in a tug of war, while the VMRDA team emerged victorious.
