Tennessee Titans rookies Kevin Winston and Kalel Mullings still recovering from injuries
The Tennessee Titans are finishing up their rookie minicamp, marking the first chance to see this class in action on the field.
Unfortunately, two of their draft choices couldn't participate in the on-field activities and were limited to individual workouts due to injuries. After the session, head coach Brian Callahan acknowledged the incident and gave a brief injury update.
Third-round pick Kevin Winston and sixth-round pick Kalel Mullings will be eased into the offseason program due to their pre-existing injury conditions.
After selecting Winston, the team mentioned his ACL injury. While he is progressing and will be around the team doing individual drills, it does not appear that he will be available until the start of training camp.
Mullings underwent core muscle surgery after his college season and is recovering. No timeline was given for his return.
Both players have already signed their four-year rookie contracts and can continue rehab at the team's facility while continuing the offseason program. Official OTA practices with veterans start Monday in Nashville.

Good News Emerges for Ex-Eagles Star After Scary Moment
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. What seemed like a season-ending issue turned out to be a minor setback for a former Philadelphia Eagles standout. The veteran safety CJ Gardner-Johnson made headlines late last week as he went down in practice with a suspected ACL injury. According to reports, the Houston Texans went from having an energetic practice to going through the motions after they watched Gardner-Johnson carted off the field. Initial reports suggested that Gardner-Johnson's injury was likely season-ending. That would've been a major blow for the Texans, considering they just traded for Gardner-Johnson back in March. However, it was soon revealed that the veteran safety avoided a major setback. According to Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans, Gardner-Johnson is expected to be back on the field at some point this season. The NFL Insider Adam Schefter recently noted that even Week 1 isn't ruled out for the former Eagle. via @UnderDogNFL: HC Ryans on S CJ Gardner-Johnson's knee injury: "We're all thankful that the injury is not as extensive as first reported. Did Notre Dame football tease its starting defensive during Sunday's scrimmage?
As every college football program has to deal with turnover each season, Notre Dame football may have given everyone a preview of who will start on defense when the team opens play on the road against Miami. A full-team scrimmage took place on Sunday and The Athletic's Pete Sampson shared who was out with the first-team defense. Starting with the defensive line, it was Joshua Burnham, Jason Onye, Donovan Hinish, and Boubacar Traore. It's all new full-time starters here, but many of them have play an extensive amount in their careers. Another promising aspect of this group is that it looks like Traore has fully recovered from his ACL injury suffered last fall. The second-team consisted of Junior Tuihalamaka, Gabriel Rubio, Bryce Young and Jared Dawson. Expect all four of these linemen to get plenty of run this fall even though they aren't considered starters right now. The linebackers were Drayk Bowen, and Jaylen Sneed, which shouldn't come as a surprise. Bowen was the starter last fall, and Sneed has been coming on during camp and looks to have taken an early lead over Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa and Jaiden Ausberry. With a two-linebacker rotation, you're going to see plenty of these top four during the season. As for the secondary, the first-team was Leonard Moore, Christian Gray, DeVonta Smith, Luke Talich and Adon Shuler. This group looks like one of the best in the country, and it was a bit surprising that Smith and Talich were with the 1's. The second-team was Dallas Golden, Mark Zackery, Jalen Stroman, Tae Johnson and Carson Hobbs. This group could start at many other top programs. The depth is impressive along the defense, as it is expected that there shouldn't be much drop off with a change at defensive coordinator from Al Golden to Chris Ash. Ravens to place rookie CB Robert Longerbeam on injured reserve
A few days ago, the Baltimore Ravens saw rookie cornerback Bihlal Kone suffer a devastating season-ending ACL and MCL injury in the team's preseason opener. Unfortunately, the Ravens are now set to lose another first-year cornerback for the entirety of the season. The team announced on Sunday that they'd be placing sixth-round pick Robert Longerbeam on injured reserve, also with a knee injury. Longerbeam was sidelined for the preseason contest on this past Thursday and missed practice on Saturday as well. The Ravens drafted him with the No. 212 overall pick in this year's draft, one round after they selected Kone (No. 178 overall). Less than two full weeks into August, the Ravens will now be without the services of both talented rookies for the upcoming season. Longerbeam was likely to primarily be a special teams contributor in 2025 given the team's depth at the position, however he would have provided some backup insurance. The former Rutgers product two interceptions and 11 pass breakups in college last season and 10 pass breakups the year prior. He played five total seasons for the Scarlett Knights. While the loss of both Kone and Longerbeam is an unfortunate blow for the Ravens, they're still in strong shape at cornerback overall thanks to their top-end talent and depth. The top of the depth chart remains intact as was between Marlon Humphrey, Jaire Alexander, Nate Wiggins, Chidobe Awuzie, and T.J. Tampa. The injuries to Kone and Longerbeam strengthens the chances of rising fourth-year cornerback Jayln Armour-Davis making the roster once again and also opens the door for another fringe cornerback to emerge. The primary candidate would be rookie undrafted free agent (UDFA) Reuben Lowery, who has made a strong impression throughout the spring and summer. Like Longerbeam, Lowery also has nickel cornerback skills and could keep the Ravens' longstanding history of granting a UDFA a spot on the 53-man roster intact.
