According to Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera, Coach Prime will make the 90-minute trip from his home in Canton, Texas to rejoin five of his players at Big 12 Football Media Days at The Star in Frisco.
'I did talk to somebody this week that said, 'Hey, Coach Prime will be there,'' Howell said. 'It sounds like his health is getting better and things are going well. I was told he will be there. He is the last guy to go (speak), and it's only about an hour and a half from the house, so you would think he can make that.'
Sanders and five Colorado players are scheduled to appear Wednesday.
We first learned of Sanders' latest health setback during a podcast appearance with former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel in late May. He revealed that he had lost 14 pounds. There have been very few details about his condition, but this appearance will mark his first major media event since a press conference April 22.

'I've done no media. I've done nothing for a minute,' Sanders said on Samuel's podcast. 'So coming on with you is something. I ain't been in front of nobody for a minute. I lost about 14 pounds. I'm coming back, but I needed this.'
Sanders missed his only Pac-12 Media Days in 2023 while recovering from surgeries to remove blood clots in both of his legs. Before that, the Hall-of-Famer has two toes on his left foot amputated during his time as Jackson State.
While in Texas, Sanders has hosted visits from friends and supporters, including Travis Hunter, former NFL cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones, former Dallas Cowboys teammate Michael Irvin, and rapper Lil Wayne.
Colorado opens preseason camp later this month. During Sanders' time away, quarterback coach Quincy Avery questioned his long-term commitment to Colorado, saying Sanders may face a choice about whether to continue coaching.

Sanders will enter his third season at Colorado without his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders. He'll be faced with another significant roster turnover with mostly transfers coming to Boulder.
Sanders will bring both quarterbacks Kaidon Salter and Julian Lewis to Big 12 Media Days. The duo are joined by offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, cornerback DJ McKinney and kicker Alejandro Mata. Seaton and McKinney were named to the preseason All-Big 12 team on Monday.

Mikal Bridges agrees to 4-year, $150 million extension with New York Knicks

The New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges has agreed to a four-year, $150 million extension, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Thursday. SNY initially reported that the 28-year-old was eligible for a maximum four-year, $156 million extension. But, per Charania, Bridges took a slight discount to help New York's roster-building efforts. The Knicks had a window from July 6 to June 30, 2026, before Bridges was set to enter free agency, to secure a new contract with him. Bridges initially found his way to New York across the East River when he landed in Brooklyn from Phoenix in exchange for Kevin Durant. He spent five seasons with the Suns before getting traded to the borough south of Manhattan. The former Villanova Wildcat averaged 26.1 points per game in 27 games for the Nets upon his arrival and 19.6 points per game after starting in all 82 games the following season. Bridges was traded to the Knicks last offseason for Bojan Bogdanović, five first-round draft picks, and a second-rounder. The move reunited Bridges with his former college teammates, Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson. In his first season in blue and orange, Bridges proved to be a dynamic role player for the Knicks, averaging 17.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. His defense also shined in the Knicks' playoff run before they eventually fell to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals. Bridges averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 boards, 0.9 blocks and 1.7 steals per game in this year's postseason. Bridges' extension comes after the Knicks hired Mike Brown to replace Tom Thibodeau as their head coach. The team has also added reinforcements in free agency by signing Guerschon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson.

MLB trade deadline: Rangers acquire pitcher Merrill Kelly from Diamondbacks, who continue sell-off

The Arizona Diamondbacks' sell-off continues with starting pitcher Merrill Kelly being traded to the Texas Rangers, ESPN's Jeff Passan reports. Kelly, who turns 37 on Oct. 14, provides another reliable arm to add to the Rangers' veteran starting rotation, joining Jacob deGrom, Patrick Corbin and Nathan Eovaldi. He's been the D-backs' most consistent starter this season, compiling a 3.22 ERA over 22 starts with 121 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings. The Rangers' starting pitchers have the best ERA in MLB at 3.16, led by deGrom (10-3, 2.55 ERA) throwing like the ace who won NL Rookie of the Year and two Cy Young Awards with the New York Mets. Corbin (3.78 ERA) has experienced a career resurgence after struggling for the past five seasons with the Washington Nationals. And Eovaldi (9-3, 1.49 ERA) has been one of the best starters in baseball during the past six seasons. Texas (57-52) is a postseason contender, tied with the Seattle Mariners for second place in the AL West, five games behind the Houston Astros. The Rangers and Mariners are also tied for the AL's third wild-card playoff berth, 2.5 games ahead of the Cleveland Guardians and three ahead of the Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays. Kelly was a late bloomer as an MLB pitcher, an eighth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010 after being drafted in each of the previous two years by the Baltimore Orioles and Cleveland Guardians, respectively, but not signing. He played nine years in the minors before making his major-league debut with the D-backs in 2019. During his seven-year MLB career, Kelly has a 3.74 ERA and 62-50 record, averaging 8.2 strikeouts and 2.7 walks per nine innings. He's two seasons removed from his best year, when he registered a 3.29 ERA and 12-8 record in 30 starts, adding 187 strikeouts in 177 2/3 innings. Kelly is the fourth regular to be dealt away by Arizona leading up to the MLB trade deadline. First baseman Josh Naylor began the D-backs' trade season by going to the Seattle Mariners. That was followed by outfielder Randal Grichuk being traded to the Kansas City Royals and third baseman Eugenio Suárez also going to Seattle in a separate deal.

Brent Musburger will join NBC's Hall of Fame Game broadcast

In a few hours, you will be looking live at the first game of the 2025 preseason, and a familiar face to football fans will be on your screen. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, and Brent Musburger will be part of the broadcast, first with an interview on Football Night in America at 7 p.m., and then in the booth with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth during the second half of the game. Musburger, in Canton to be honored with the Hall of Fame's Pete Rozelle Radio Television Award, will speak with Maria Taylor in pregame about the honor, and then will take a seat in the broadcast booth, as he has so many times in his career, later in the night. To many football fans, Musburger is best remembered for hosting The NFL Today on CBS from 1975 through 1989. In those days, when it wasn't easy to find up-to-the-minute sports news, hearing Musburger's voice booming, "You are looking live" served as the official announcement that NFL kickoff was approaching, and viewers were in the only place to learn the late-breaking news that would affect Sunday's games. Musburger has also called hundreds of football games, both NFL and college, in the broadcast booth, and tonight he'll step into the booth one more time.
