Pensioner, 88, is found 'murdered' at home in Bournemouth as police arrest woman, 60, 'known to him'
A pensioner has allegedly been murdered at his home with police arresting a woman who was 'known to him'. The 88-year-old man was found dead by officers at a property in the Winton area of Bournemouth on Saturday after Dorset Police received a report by the ambulance service raising concern over his welfare. After making enquiries, police then arrested a woman, 60, on suspicion of murder. The supect remains in police custody. A police cordon remains in place as officers continue their investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Neil Third, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: 'Following the discovery of the body, we have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. 'I am keen to speak to anyone who has seen any suspicious activity around the address since Friday 18 July 2025 to please come forward. 'You may have vital details to help us establish what has happened. 'To enable us to gather as much information as possible about circumstances surrounding the man's death, and in order to provide legal protection for the individual, we have made an arrest. 'There will be an increased police presence in the area while we work to establish what has happened and we would encourage anyone with information or concerns to please speak with an officer.'

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman, in her 80s, was taken to hospital with "life-threatening injuries" after a crash involving three cars and a lorry in were called to the A23 Horley Road, where it meets Earlswood Road, at about 08:30 BST on Saturday, said Surrey force said the injured woman had been a passenger in one of the cars and six other people were also hurt and taken to hospital.A 25-year-old man, from East Grinstead in West Sussex, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by careless driving.
