Bhubaneswar: Results of the Plus II examinations, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), will be announced on Wednesday. Results of all four streams — humanities, science, commerce and vocational — will be declared simultaneously at 4 pm, official sources said.
As many as 3.91 lakh students appeared for the Plus II examinations this year. Students can check their results on the official websites — chseodisha.nic.in, orissaresults.nic.in, results.odisha.gov.in and results.digilocker.gov.in.
State govt on Tuesday extended the last date for applications for admission to undergraduate courses to June 1 in wake of the delay in the publication of Plus II results. The last date for submission of applications was earlier May 21.
There are a total of 273,789 seats in 1,053 degree colleges, including self-financing and Sanskrit colleges, in the state. Admission to these colleges is conducted centrally through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal. The admission process began on April 16 with application forms available on the portal. Since then, 148,446 students have applied online.
As the results of higher secondary examination have not yet been declared, students were asked to choose the 'appeared' option. After some resentment among students regarding the last date for applications, the deadline was extended to June 1, sources said.
Sources said school and mass education Minister Nityananda Gond discussed the matter with higher education minister Suryabanshi Suraj, seeking an extension of the deadline for submission of applications.
