Nilson Angulo breaks Celtic transfer silence as Paulo Bernardo set to make history with Portugal
Anderlecht wide man Angulo is said to be on the Hoops radar this summer and he has spoken about his future for the first time
Nilson Angulo has broken his silence on reported links with Celtic – and insists that he isn't planning on leaving Anderlecht anytime soon.
The winger is reportedly a target for Brendan Rodgers after a breakthrough season in the Belgian Pro League.
Angulo's stock on the international scene is also rising having helped Ecuador qualify for the World Cup with draws against Brazil and Peru in the last week.
But the 21-year-old has poured cold water on a potential move to Parkhead this summer
Speaking in his homeland, he said: "I'm focused on Anderlecht, I want to get back there and we'll see what happens.
"Next season, I need to improve on small details, like my finishing and as I play more matches for Anderlecht and my national team, I'll improve. I'm really happy with what we've achieved and very proud of the group.
"We're prepared and focused on the World Cup. The Ecuadorian people deserve this more than anyone else, and I'm very happy about that.
"I feel very good about my performances and I feel proud of each of my teammates."
Elsewhere, Hoops midfielder Paulo Bernardo is poised to become Portugal's most-capped player at U21 level.
The former Benfica ace is on duty with his country at the U21 European Championships in Slovakia and played the full 90 minutes in their goalless draw with France in their group C opener.
Bernardo - who skippers the U21 team - is in line to win a record 30th cap at U21 level when Portugal face Poland on Friday.
The Celtic playmaker will draw level with Manuel Fernandes and will have the chance to eclipse the Valencia star in Portugal's final group stage clash against Georgia next Tuesday.

Kyogo fights back as Celtic hero goes home, Callum Osmand makes a vow and Maik Nawrocki locked in exit talks
It's all the latest headlines from Parkhead in one place as part of your Monday AM news bulletin Kyogo has offered a strong hint that he is ready to fight for his spot at Rennes next season. It's been a nightmare move for the former Celtic star since he arrived in France in January. The Japan international has played just 120 minutes in total since his switch and only started one league game. He faces an uncertain future under manager Habib Beye, who almost completely bombed him out at the end of the campaign. The 30-year-old has been back in his homeland during the season break and was a special guest at his former club Vissel Kobe. He gave a speech to the fans and appeared to indicate he wanted to prove himself at his current club as he offered a major hint as to his own thinking ahead of the new season. Kyogo said: "I'm so happy to be able to stand in front of you all again. "I'll work harder and harder next season so that I can give you good news in future. "Thank you for all your support." Kyogo also lost his place in the Japan squad ahead of next year's World Cup and has been linked with a move away from Rennes. Meanwhile, Pogon Szczecin have opened talks to sign Maik Nawrocki. The 24-year-old was a fringe player for the champions last season and made just three league appearances under Brendan Rodgers. It took him until March to make his first start when he was thrown into the Old Firm derby in the 3-2 home defeat to Rangers. He landed praise from his boss for his display in the derby defeat - but only landed a couple more appearances with the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales well ahead of him in the pecking order. Nawrocki is wanted for a return to his homeland and Pogon Szczecin's sports director, Tan Kesler has confirmed talks. He said: "We have talked to Maik Nawrocki from Celtic." The club finished fourth in the Polish league last season and want to bring Nawrocki back either on loan or in a permanent move. Celtic splashed out a reported £4m to Legia Warsaw to land his services two years ago. Elsewhere, Hoops bound Callum Osmand has declared he is rested and ready to go. He's set to arrive in Glasgow's east end from Fulham and he's been enjoying some down time. Taking to social media sharing a series of snaps from his break in the sunshine he caption the post with 'recharged'. He is likely to join Kieran Tierney in checking in to Celtic this summer with Benjamim Nygren and Ross Doohan also set to arrive at the champions. g as they weigh up a £15million offer as they attempt to get Celtic to part with a key asset.
