Jaehyun, F.able's Former Vocalist, Dies At 23 Due To Cancer
Former K-pop idol Shim Jaehyun, known to fans as Jaehyun from the boy group F.able, has tragically passed away at the age of just 23. Though he had reportedly been quietly battling leukemia for some time, his illness remained unknown to the public until now. Details surrounding his diagnosis and medical treatment have not been disclosed, and his family has not yet released an official statement regarding the funeral.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his former groupmate Hojun, who took to Instagram on June 1 to remember Jaehyun with an emotional tribute. In his post, Hojun reflected on their time together and expressed sorrow over losing touch.
Jaehyun stepped into the K-pop scene in June 2020 as the youngest member of the five-member boy group F.able, under Haeirum Entertainment. As the maknae (youngest), and a soft-voiced vocalist, he quickly became a fan favourite for his gentle nature and bright energy. Though F.able didn't reach the heights of mainstream K-pop fame, they earned a small but loyal following — with Jaehyun often standing out for his charm and sincerity.
The group released digital singles like Burn It Up and Run Run Run, gaining modest recognition. However, by mid-2023, F.able became inactive, and three of its members eventually re-debuted under a new project named ENPHAZE. Despite this transition, Jaehyun chose not to join and quietly stepped back from the spotlight, staying out of the public eye in recent months.
