Spring Re-Event held at the Sioux City Citizen's Convenience Center
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Spring time means spring cleaning.
The city of Sioux City was here to help out with that chore on Saturday with their Spring Electronics Re-Event.
The event was held at the Citizens Convenience Center on 28th Street, just off Highway 75. The center took in all electronics, batteries and lightbulbs to be recycled.
The center also took in tires and mattresses.
'It's keeping our community clean, it's cheaper for our residents to dispose today,' said Arah Montagne, the Environmental Services and Program Development Manager for the City of Sioux City. 'We're recycling, we're doing our part. We're keeping it out of our landfills, cutting down on landfill fires. Gill Hauling is always a great supporter for us, and they help us out on this event as well and we just want to help them out too and keep those landfill fires down and recycle.'
This event is held twice a year so if you missed the event Saturday, there will be another one the last weekend in September.
