Paul Hollywood has confessed to feeling a sense of guilt over his soaring success, and admits he can't quite believe how much he's achieved so far.
The Great British Bake Off judge embarked on his career journey at 17, after he left art school to join his father's chain of 12 Breadwinner bakeries as a trainee.
After learning on the job, the 59-year-old became head baker at several prestigious British and international hotels.
His foray into the media world began with Carlton Food Network and Taste, where he co-hosted two television series alongside fellow chef James Martin.
Today, he is most renowned for his role as the longest-serving judge on The Great British Bake Off, including its celebrity editions for Sport Relief, Comic Relief and Stand Up 2 Cancer.
Reflecting on his illustrious career in an interview with The Times, he shared: "I never thought that I'd be doing what I'm doing now.
"When I go back to Liverpool I still see some of the lads I used to work with in the bakery and they're all very proud, but in a weird way I feel guilty.
"It's probably impostor syndrome but I find it difficult. I went on to do what I did when some of these guys are still doing the same job."
In addition to his baking success, Paul has also ventured into motorsport, participating in numerous GT races across the UK.
In recent years, he has embarked on flying lessons in pursuit of a pilot's licence.
"I've done all that racing car c**p but they have always kept me grounded," he added, speaking of his friends.
Paul, who turns 60 next year, humorously said that he's "been in a perpetual midlife crisis" since he was 17.
Hinting at possible new ventures, he added: "Ask my mates. Now I can afford bigger toys but nothing's changed. Next year I might join a band."
Paul shares judging responsibilities on The Great British Bake Off alongside Prue Leith.
Shedding light on his persona both on and off-screen, she told Candis magazine: "The nice thing about the show is that we are just ourselves, although Paul is probably a little bit sterner on telly than he is in real life because in reality, he can be caught comforting a weeping baker.
"He is a kind person - I absolutely adore Paul. He knows more about baking than I do, that's for sure.
"But I've learnt a lot from him, and we do get on really well."
In a conversation with The Times last year, Paul said of his television persona: "That's the guy on Bake Off. That's not the guy at home. Very different.
"I'm an introvert. All my family will tell you that I'm quite shy. So, it's weird that I'm doing this job, but it found me, I didn't hunt for it."

Former Love Island star Dani Dyer shocked viewers when she revealed that her new mother-in-law actually voted for her and her ex-boyfriend, Jack Fincham to win Love Island in 2018 Dani Dyer has revealed who Jarrod Bowen's mother voted for on Love Island. The reality star, who recently tied the knot, appeared on the ITV special, Love Island: Decade Of Love, where she revealed that her new mother-in-law actually voted for her and fellow islander Jack Fincham to win the show. Ahead of a brand new series, Love Island shared a special episode where they celebrated an entire decade of the show, with many surprise guests commentating on old clips. ‌ The show marked Dani's first TV appearance, although it was pre-recorded, since she officially tied the knot with her footballer boyfriend Jarrod Bowen in a romantic ceremony on Saturday, 31 May. As Dani watched old Love Island clips with her friend Samira Mighty, she revealed that her now mother-in-law was actually rooting for Jack and Dani to win as a couple. ‌ She said: "My mother-in-law voted for me and Jack to win Love Island," leaving fellow former islander Samira shocked. Entering the villa as a 21-year-old barmaid, Dani quickly became a fan favourite with her down-to-earth personality and relatable charm. Dani and Jack ended up winning the 2018 series by a mile with 79.66% of the vote. ‌ Post-show, they moved in together, adopted a puppy, and began filming a reality series about their life. However, just six months later, Dani announced their split, stating they had realised the relationship wasn't meant to be long-term. Seven years on from stepping foot in the Love Island villa and Dani is now living her own fairytale with her family. The reality star began dating West Ham United footballer Jarrod Bowen in 2021, and the couple went on to welcome twin daughters, Star and Summer, in May 2023. ‌ One year later, they announced their engagement in July 2024 and have just tied the knot in a ceremony at the end of May 2025, which was attended by close family and friends. Dani's father, former Eastenders actor Danny Dyer, walked her down the aisle while two-year-old twin daughters, Summer and Star, were flower girls. Dani's four-year-old son Santiago, whom she shares with her ex Sammy Kimmence, was also a page boy. The bride and groom and all their guests dressed to impress for the ceremony in the British countryside. Dani's white off-the-shoulder gown by British designer Suzanne Neville cost a whopping £10,000 and was paid for by Danny and her mum. Love Island returns to screens on June 9.

JoJo Siwa sets sights on another huge UK reality show amid Chris Hughes romance

Singer JoJo Siwa will be spending more time in the UK as she prepares to film the latest celebrity version of a hit Channel 4 reality show - while her romance with Chris Hughes continues JoJo Siwa will soon be back on British TV screens as she has reportedly signed up to take part in another iconic UK reality show. The 22-year-old American singer boosted her profile on the opposite side of the Atlantic in April when she was a contestant on ITV's Celebrity Big Brother. Now it has been reported that JoJo will be popping up on Channel 4 and testing out her cooking skills as a contestant on a celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off. The celebrity version of the show is part of Channel 4's annual Stand up to Cancer content. ‌ A source said:"This is a bit of a coup for the Bake Off because Jojo is currently one of the most talked about young stars on TV right now. ‌ "She's barely had time to catch her breath, leaving CBB last month amid huge media attention and heading straight into another huge show this month. "It's also a fantastic gig for her because although she already has a fanbase over here, the cookery contest also introduces her to a wider British audience. Plus she got plenty of experience of cooking in front of the cameras while she was on Celebrity Big brother, though this time she won't have hunky Chris to distract her," they added to The Sun. ‌ The American singer got her first break on a reality show in the USA. The star was just 9 years old when she appeared on Dance Moms in 2015, and she appeared on the show across seasons five and six. Earlier this year, she saw her star power rise in the UK as she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother. While she entered the iconic reality show house as taken - she was dating Australian influencer Kath Ebbs - but fans were stunned to see her grow close to Love Island star Chris Hughes while in the house. When the show ended, Kath stunned fans when they revealed JoJo had dumped them at the wrap party. Weeks later, JoJo and Chris appeared to confirm that they had embarked on a romance of their own. ‌ Snaps emerged of the singer kissing the 32-year-old British reality star while they were on holiday together in Mexico. They have been gushing over each other via social media comments in the subsequent weeks. Chris recently posted - and swiftly deleted - a steamy bedroom snap of himself with JoJo over the weekend, leaving fans convinced it is proof of their romance. They have enjoyed meals out, bowling, time with family and have made sure to get plenty of moments alone. On Saturday, Chris took a selfie as he kissed JoJo's forehead while tucked up in bed together. Dance Moms star JoJo snuggled into Chris' chest with her eyes closed as the reality star gushed: "Sleeping beauty." The photo wasn't up on Chris' page for long as it was soon deleted. However, it was too late to hide any evidence as many fans, who have been rooting for the couple, were able to screenshot the photo and share it amongst each other.

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz hire Meghan Markle's lawyer amid family feud

Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have reportedly hired the lawyers who represent Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid ongoing family feud with his family Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have reportedly felt compelled to instruct Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's lawyer in a bid to protect their reputations amid their ongoing family feud. Brooklyn, 26 and Nicola, 30, have been notably absent from milestone family gatherings over recent months amid a feud that reportedly stemmed from tension between his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. According to reports relations between Nicola and his parents were at an all time low during their wedding planning. Four months after Nicola's wedding, she told Vanity Fair that Victoria let her down a few months "down the line" when she realised her "atelier couldn't do it [make the dress]." ‌ And so instead, she opted for a Valentino gown. Adding further fuel to the fire, the couple was a no show at David's recent 50th birthday celebrations. ‌ So now, it has been claimed that they have hired top solicitor Jenny Afia to help with "reputation management." The British solicitor works for the legal firm Schillings and was seen commenting on the documentary titled The Princes And The Press. A source told the Mail on Sunday: "All of a sudden, they have enlisted the help of the Sussexes' long-serving lawyer. Nicola and Brooklyn are getting fed up of stories running they don't like. Nicola likes to control everything, and they have taken this rather drastic action." ‌ They added: "For the Beckhams, the irony isn't lost. They fell out with Meghan and Harry after they accused them of leaking stories – they were furious, and Brooklyn knows that. The two couples are very close indeed." The feud between Nicola and Brooklyn's parents doesn't not appear to be ending any time soon if his post about being loyal to his wife is anything to go by. Brooklyn shared a video with fans of the pair on the back of his motorbike as they rode through southern California. ‌ He told his wife, who is the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz: "My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby." Nicola has been accused of being controlling. A separate source told The Sun: "She is creating conflict where there is none and divides are springing up left, right and centre." In a bid to balance out the scales, Nicola's friends have since stepped forward. One told the Mirror: "She is not isolating him [Brooklyn] at all. He is free to do what he wants and he loves his wife and they are happy together. They are each other's family." The Mirror approached Nicola and Brooklyn's spokesperson for comment.
