Athletes have taken part in several events across the country
Law and District Amateur Athletics Club athletes have performed well in various different events across the country.

Under-15 Alexander Wotherspoon achieved a personal best time of 4.27mins in 1500m at the British Milers' Club in Loughborough.

Senior Lesley Graham took part in the 100-mile ultra marathon from Bamburgh Castle to Edinburgh Castle, completing the gruelling course in 32hours 13mins, finishing 37th female from a field of almost 600 runners.

Under-17 Blair Beverley competed in 1500m at the GAA Miler Meet at Crownpoint in Glasgow, and finished in 4:34.39, on Wednesday, July 23, his third personal best at that distance in two months.
Law and District's under-16s excelled in the 2.2km at the annual Carnwath Agricultural Show.
Blair Beverley finished first, Jamie Mackie second, followed by Lucy Taylor (1st female), Abbie Boyle (2nd female) and Olivia Taylor third.
Allyssa Bennet, James Bennet, Oliver Taylor, Blake Carmichael, Oscar Taylor, Libby and Lexi Boyd also competed.
In the senior 5.5km race, Emily McNicol finished first female, with Grant Mackenzie, coaches Rich Beattie, John O'Leary and Elaine Boyle also competing.

A number of young athletes competed in various track and field events at the Scottish National Athletic League in Grangemouth.
Results were:

200m - Sol Stewart (22.28), James McClafferty (23.16), Matthew Gillon (23.69), Sophie Evans (26.13), Hannah Kulke (27.62) and Erin McGurk (27.01).
800m - Cameron Chambers (2:04.72).
Mile - Blair Beverley (9:57.54).

100m - Sol Stewart (10.87), James McClafferty (11.49), Matthew Gillon (11.63), Luke Evans (12.16), Sophie Evans (12.64), Hannah Kulke (13.54), India Wood (14.42).
1500m - Lucy Taylor (5:00.03).
300m - India Wood (48.39)

400m - Cameron Chambers (55.13).
Shot put - Kyle Ferguson (8.60m), Ross Ferguson (11.96), Graeme Ferguson (10.42).
Discus - Ross Ferguson (34.41).

Several athletes took part in the Birmingham U20 England Championships at the new Alexander Stadium.
U20 Owen Murphy reached the 100m and 200m semi-finals, finishing sixth in both.
U15 Cara Murphy, competing in para events, was fifth in 100m, which was a new season best, and fourth in 200m, equalling her season's best.
U20 Lauren McNair, representing Law and District AAC, finished sixth in her 200m heat.

Athletes took part in several events over recent weeks Law and District Amateur Athletics club clocked in personal best times in the Sri Chinmoy 5k race at Silverknowes beach in Edinburgh. One of the fastest and most elite courses in the UK, with personal bests almost guaranteed, athletes travel the length and breadth of the country to compete, with 540 runners let loose down the esplanade. ‌ Ryan Kellock was first club runner to finish in 81st place in 15.47, with Emily McNicol clocking in at 16.48, making her seventh female and 190th overall. ‌ Grant McKenzie was 206th in 16.59, and Ross Hill 234th in 17.12. Finn Milligan, Rich Beattie, Bobby Hill, Logan Whitton, Elaine Boyle, Christine Neill, Mark Milligan, Lesley Graham, and John O'Leary also took part. The club was represented at the UK International track relays in Loughborough by Owen Murphy, who helped Scotland Under-20s to second place in the 4x100m. Owen's sister Cara finished fourth in the Para 100m at under-15 level. ‌ Success continued in the Lanarkshire AAA Track Relay Championships at Shettleston, with nine teams making it into podium positions. Five teams won gold, three silver and one bronze. Gold-winning teams were: U13 girls 3x800m: Abbie Boyle, Maya Carmichael, Grace Frood. ‌ U15 boys 4x100m: Alfie Brown, Harrison Hamilton, Joshua Gartshore, Stefan Cowan. U17 mixed 4x400m: Lucy Corns, Luke Evans, Erin McGurk, Cameron Chambers. Senior mixed 4x400m: Callum Hall, Lauren McNair, Hannah Kulke, Matthew Gillon. ‌ Senior women's 4x100m; Jade Gray, Lauren McNair, Hannah Kulke, Sophie Evans. Silver-winning teams: U11 girls 4x100m: Isla Mackey, Isla Dickson, Neve Shepka, Libby Boyd. ‌ U13 boys; 3x800m: Ross McLean, Jack Hamilton, Christopher Traynor. U13 girls 4x100m: Victoria Carr, Lily Crawford, Lexi Boyd, Grace Frood. Bronze: U17 women's 4x100m: India Wood, Rachel Williamson, Sophie Dickson and Erin McGurk.

Global marathons are part of successful month for Law and District AAC

Club athletes have taken part in races in Paris, Manchester and London in recent weeks Spring is marathon time for a number of Law and District Athletics Club's senior athletes, with races across the globe, and members have produced some marvellous performances over recent weeks. Kieran Pugh marked a return from long-term injury with a time of 2.58:31 in Paris on his debut at that distance. ‌ Also running in the French capital was Colin Fowler, who completed the race in 3.32:39. ‌ In Manchester, Mark Hand completed his first marathon in nine years in 2.47:13. Seven athletes took part in the London Marathon. Ross MacDonald achieved a new club record and a personal best time of 2.30:51, finishing in 199th place. Bobby Wotherspoon in a course PB recorded 3.03:00, Elaine Boyle clocked a PB of 3.09:22 and Lesley Graham came in at 3.39:45. Jennifer Beattie finished in 3.45:14 and John O'Leary in 3.59, while Jess Robson, who was on pacing duty, clocked 4.09 hours. Elsewhere, U17 athlete Johann Gillon added 3m to her PB at the Carlisle Hammer competition with a fine throw of 48.73m. ‌ Senior Ross Ferguson was in Aberdeen competing in the Scottish Students' Championships, winning silver in shot put with 10.25m and was fourth in discus with 30.66m. U17 Cameron Chambers set a new 800m PB of 1.59:85mins in the GAA Miler Meet at Crownpoint in Glasgow. ‌ Several athletes took part in the Fast and Flat Road Races at Linlithgow, where they competed individually and in relays. James Bennet, Ross McLean and Helena Wotherspoon took part in the under-13 and 15 3k, with Alexander Wotherspoon second under-13 male. Other results were: ‌ 5k: Race 5: Christine Neill (19.36). Race 4: Ryan Kellock (16.07); Allan Neill (DNF). ‌ Race 2: Emily McNicol (16.52); Finn Milligan (18.06). Relay 4 x 3k: James Gillon, Jessica Inglis, Emily McNicol, Cameron Allan. Meanwhile, several young athletes took part in the Scottish Primary Schools' Cross Country Championships in Kirkcaldy, with medal wins. ‌ Olivia Taylor won bronze in P6 girls' race, and Ross McLean bronze in the P6 boys' race. P6 runners were: Anais Grant, James Bennet, Harrison Weir, Joshua Weir, Owen Lennox, Jude Beattie and Caelan Simpson. P7 athletes were: Allyssa Bennet, Grace Frood and Christopher Traynor.
