Sam Konstas, Australia's 19-year-old pick to open the innings in the tour of the West Indies, has seen his campaign turn into a nightmare, with the youngster setting an unwanted record.
His disastrous form makes him the Australian opener with the lowest batting average in the Caribbean since 1984.
Brought in to open in place of Marnus Labuschagne, Konstas had started his Test career with promise, scoring a half-century on debut against India at the MCG. But his numbers against the West Indies have been extremely poor. In six innings, he has managed only 50 runs at an average of 8.33, ending with a five-ball duck in his final outing as Shamar Joseph dismissed him.

Australia, despite being 2-0 up in the three-match series and maintaining the upper hand in the ongoing day-night Test at Sabina Park, have reasons to worry. Konstas' struggles against the moving ball and pace-friendly conditions have left a big question mark over the opening slot ahead of the Ashes later this year.
Poll
Should Sam Konstas be replaced as the opener for the remaining Test matches?
Yes, he needs more time
Yes, bring in a replacement
No, he can bounce back
No, keep him for experience
Konstas now joins an unfortunate list featuring only Alec Bannerman, Rick Darling, Wayne Phillips, and Keith Stackpole as batters who have scored fewer runs as openers in a series than his 50.
The call to replace Labuschagne with him hasn't paid off, and the team is now under pressure to rethink the top-order combination.
However, things haven't been all bad for the teenager. Despite his struggles with the bat, Konstas impressed in the field, showing sharp reflexes to dismiss Justin Greaves via a run-out on Day 2. His near-perfect throw from the boundary helped the Aussies dismiss Greaves as he attempted a triple.

Bat in the air, foot in the air: Harleen Deol run out in unbelievable fashion; India win by 4 wickets

Harleen Deol's run out on Wednesday (Screengrab) Cricket often comes down to the finest of margins, and during India's successful run chase against England on Wednesday, fans witnessed one of the strangest run outs in recent memory. India's No. 3 batter Harleen Deol was well set on 27 when she attempted what seemed like a comfortable single. But in a moment that stunned even the commentators, she was run out in the most bizarre fashion. England's Davidson Richards fired in a throw from the deep that hit the stumps with unbelievable accuracy. Replays showed Harleen's bat had clearly crossed the crease—but it was in the air when the ball struck the stumps. Even her foot, which might have saved her, was airborne at that exact moment. Despite having done everything right in terms of timing, she was given out. The run out left Harleen and Indian supporters in disbelief, and it became one of those rare dismissals that fans will remember for its sheer unluckiness. Despite the bizarre dismissal, India stayed focused and went on to win the match and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Deepti Sharma's unbeaten 62 and a strong bowling display from Sneh Rana (2/31) and Kranti Goud (2/55) helped India chase down England's target of 259 with four wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare in Southampton. Poll What do you think about the overall performance of the Indian team in this match? Outstanding, they played really well. Average, they could have done better. The strange dismissal of Harleen might have been a talking point, but it didn't stop India from taking the upper hand in the series. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Shubman Gill's Technique And Temperament Questioned By Ex-England Captain After Lord's Test Loss

Shubman Gill 's campaign in the England vs India Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy has been a tale of contrasting displays so far. In the first Test, he slammed 147 and then went on to score 269 and 161 in the second Test. However, in the third Test at Lord's he could score only 16 and 6. In the second innings, with India chasing 193, Gill failed to get going. Former England captain Michael Vaughan said that Gill's technique was not solid in the second innings. "When things got spicy on the third evening, I felt that brought the best out of England for the remainder of the game. Shubman Gill did not look as technically tight or calm as usual when he came out to bat on the fourth evening, but his team fought so hard on Monday in a fabulous Test," he wrote in a column for ' The Telegraph'. "England have never had a captain quite like Ben Stokes. One who just does not accept when he is beaten, one who does not accept his team are having a bad week, and can drag a game back his way through sheer skill and force of will." Vaughan went on to praise Ben Stokes, who led England from the front for a victory. "It was Stokes who stuck with Joe Root on the first evening to ensure they toughed out a score. It was Stokes who pulled off that brilliant run-out before lunch on day three, when India were taking control of the game," he wrote further. "And it was Stokes who picked up key wickets in both innings, bowled that epic spell early on the last day, and then broke Jasprit Bumrah 's resistance. He just knows how to win the biggest moments in Test matches." Gill admitted that just one substantial partnership could have altered the outcome of the gripping third Test at the Lord's, where England edged India by 22 runs to lead the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series 2-1. India, chasing 193, were bowled out for 170 deep into the final session on Day 5, despite Ravindra Jadeja 's unbeaten 61 and gritty stands with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Despite the loss, Gill struck a hopeful note: 'Sometimes the series scorecard doesn't reflect how well you've played. We're really excited for the rest of the series.'
