Wimbledon dress code: What to wear and what NOT to wear to the 2025 tennis championships

British summertime has a few hallmarks: Pimms, picnics in the park, day trips to the seaside and, of course, the Wimbledon tennis championships. With our fave royals, celebs and socialites all flocking to sit court-side, it's no wonder spectators of all kinds want to put their best Manolos forward. From buttoned-up tailoring to ladylike dresses, we've rounded up the best celeb inspo to kick-start your Wimbledon wardrobe.
Wimbledon runs from Monday, 30 June to Sunday, 13 July in 2025. So you're safe! You've still got the perfect buffer time to queue up looks to get you through the tournament.
Not for spectators, unless you've scored those glorious Royal Box tickets. However, smart dress is encouraged (especially within Centre Court and Court One) and there is a small list of forbidden items: running vests, ripped jeans, dingy trainers, big designer logos, offensive slogans, and anything with a political statement. As oversized hats are also not allowed, it is worth leaving those in your hat box for our Ascot girlies.
Attendees tend to stick to a light colour palette to echo what we see on Centre Court, but you are welcome to wear whatever speaks to you. Take notes from Vick Hope's chocolate leather ensemble, Amelia Dimoldenburg's navy pinstripes, Jodie Turner-Smith's purple satin trousers, or Margot Robbie's polka dot dress – all below. Like the players, they might just have the winning formula...
Our Champions muse is very well-versed in chicly sitting court-side. Zendaya paired a traditional herringbone blazer with an undone button-up and jeans. Bonus points for you if you have a pochette-esque shoulder bag to top it off.
Unsurprisingly, Nicola Coughlan (aka Bridgerton's Penelope Featherington) knows how to dress for an occasion. Opt for a classic white dress with dreamy details like eyelets or touches of broderie anglaise paired with a neutral mule.
Perhaps we're a tad biased, but our April cover star (!!) Amelia Dimoldenberg nailed this look. A touch office siren and a touch traditionalist, Amelia paired a white-button down and fitted navy pinstripe suit with fun accessories like a knitted tie and grey pointed pumps.
A navy slip might just be the ultimate cheat code for compliments. Simone Ashley gets the low-effort / maximum style memo. Simply finish with a white peep-toe and you're ready for the match.
Controversial, but I love a bit of summer leather. Vick Hope goes all out in a chic brown leather co-ord worth copying. If an all-leather look seems a bit too daunting, swap the top for a lighter texture (think crochet or fine knit) in the same colour.
Nothing is as classic as a polka dot dres,s especially on Margot Robbie. Black finishing touches like her rectangular sunnies and leather mules add just the right amount of modernity. Monochrome girls, this is your calling!
You know we're fans of Bermuda shorts this summer, so it only makes sense that Emma Corrin's butter yellow version makes our list. Go for a polished brogue or a subtle heel for maximum style points.
Although divisive amongst traditionalists, jeans are allowed as long as they aren't ripped. We'd recommend a classic silhouette like a straight leg or a more contemporary alternative like a barrel. And stick to darker washes for a more formal feel.
Why not?! Maybe stick to a heel height or silhouette you are comfortable in. Luckily, mules and comfy wedges are all back in season, so there is no shortage of ways to feel good whilst looking polished.
Yes – metal and opaque bottles must be emptied before the security checkpoint, but once inside the grounds, you are able to top up at one of the many hydration stations.
Of course. However, there is a limit of one per person, and they must be no larger than 40cm x 30cm x 30cm (this translates into a small handbag). All bags will be searched at the entry point. Hardsided bags, picnic baskets and containers aren't allowed.

The Bodyguard meets The Diplomat: Inside Suranne Jones's new gripping Netflix thriller series Hostage

Following the release of Department Q and our subsequent binge-watching of the cold case series, we're in a major thriller series drought right now, but thankfully our prayers are about to answered as Netflix has just confirmed their next show set to have us on the edge of our seat is Hostage starring Suranne Jones. Announced earlier today [18 June] Netflix revealed Hostage will be coming to our screens in August later this year and will star Suranne Jones as the British Prime Minister whose husband is kidnapped. We don't know about you but it's giving us major The Diplomat and The Bodyguard energy. Curious to know more? Here's everything to possibly know about the new series Hostage. Hostage stars Suranne Jones as the British Prime Minister, whose husband is kidnapped and taken hostage. As if this wasn't enough to deal with already, the visiting French President is being blackmailed while on English soil. The two powerhouses are forced into an unlikely pairing where they must work together, despite their history to work against this shared threat. The series is written by Matt Charman, who has previously written Treason and Bridge of Spies, said Suranne's performance in Hostage is "going to blow the Netflix audience away" and describes her character as "An embattled British PM in the middle of a fight for her country and her family – she's fierce, ruthless and you can't take your eyes off of her." The series will be five episodes long. Leading the series as the British Prime Minister is Suranne Jones, whom you'll likely know from her roles in Doctor Foster, Vigil and Gentleman Jack, amongst many others. Speaking about joining the Netflix series, Suranne said: "I'm thrilled to be on Netflix, in something I'm really proud of. It's been something I've wanted to do for a long time. We'd talked about projects previously, but for me it was about finding the right thing. Hostage was perfect - me and Matt together backed up by this brilliant, supportive team. I loved it." From the first look photos Julie Delpy appears to be portraying the French President in Hostage. Also joining the cast are Lucian Msamati, James Cosmo, Ashley Thomas, Martin McCann, Jehnny Beth and Queen Charlotte's Corey Mylchreest. There's not too long to wait as Hostage will be released in just over two months on 21 August, with all episodes dropping on the same day. There sure are! F1 Director Reveals Why Simone Ashley's Scenes Had To Be Cut From The Film

The director of the new movie F1 has revealed that Simone Ashley's scenes have not made it into the finished film. Last year, it was revealed that the Bridgerton star would be playing a small role in F1, which also stars Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Damson Idris, Tobias Menzies and Kerry Condon. However, while People noted that Simone does briefly appear on screen during the sports drama, her lines have all been cut. Director Joseph Kosinski told the US outlet: 'It happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use. 'There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make into the final cut.' Joseph quickly added that the former Sex Education star is an 'incredible talent', 'incredible actress' and 'incredible singer', and that he would 'love to work with her again'. Whether that feeling remains mutual after her scenes wound up on the cutting room floor remains to be seen… Simone recently told Elle that her part in F1 was a 'very small' one, but that she was still 'very grateful to be in that movie', describing the filming process as a 'crazy' experience. After initially rising to fame as part of Sex Education, Simone landed a leading role in the second season of Bridgerton as Kate Sharma, a role she reprised in the third and upcoming fourth seasons. She has since gone on to appear in Disney's live-action remake of The Little Mermaid (as Ariel's sister Indira) and the 2025 British rom-com Picture This. F1 stars Brad Pitt as a racing driver who achieved huge success in motor racing in the 1990s, but withdrew from the sport after a serious injury. He's then persuaded to return to the world of Formula One to mentor an up-and-coming star, played by Damson Idris. As well as the impressive cast, F1 also features appearances from a number of prolific stars within the racing world, including the UK's own Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris and George Russell.
