My Morning Jacket coming to Minneapolis with new album, 'is'
The album will be accompanied by a tour called "My Morning Jacket 'is' On Tour." The 18-date trek, with more shows to be announced soon, includes a three-night homecoming stint in Louisville.
It'll also bring them to The Armory in Minneapolis on April 20.
Their arrival in the Twin Cities will come just a couple of weeks after the March 21 release of is. Earlier this week, My Morning Jacket gave a preview, playing the lead single, "Time Waited," on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
For fans who have followed the band's quarter-century career, is will have a unique approach. The group rarely works with a producer, and Jim James, the band's lead singer and guitarist, has produced or co-produced every record since their 1999 debut, The Tennessee Fire. Here, they've teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Brendan O'Brien.
'Up until now I've never been able to let go and allow someone else to steer the ship,' James says. 'It almost felt like an out-of-body experience to step back and give control over to someone who's far more accomplished and made so many more records than us, but in the end, I was able to enjoy the process maybe more than I ever have before.'
The tour is currently on sale to members of the band's One Big Family 'Family Pass' program. A presale will take place on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the public the following morning at 10 a.m.

Michelle Williams opens up about baby No. 4, thanks her surrogate
Michelle Williams opened up this week about the arrival of her fourth child and gave a sweet shoutout to her surrogate. During an appearance on " Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday, the "Dawson's Creek" alum confirmed she and husband Thomas Kail recently welcomed their third baby together via surrogacy. In addition to her three children with Kail, Williams is also a mom to daughter Matilda, whom she shared with the late Heath Ledger. The topic of baby No. 4 came up after guest host Tiffany Haddish complimented Williams on her figure, saying she looked like she'd never had kids. "Then I've got to give a big shout out to Christine, because this last baby did not come through my body," Williams replied, appearing to reference her surrogate. "But the miracle of our little girl is thanks to Christine. Maybe you're watching out there --thank you, Christine." She added, "Thanks to Christine, I have three under 5 at home." Williams went on to reflect on motherhood with humor and honesty. "Everything's good and under control. I'm the adult," she said. "It's good, it's just really busy. I'm trying to figure out the sort of life-work balance." Williams admitted that while everyone talks about self-care, it's easier said than done. "I already have the guilt, and I don't want to take more time away from them, but I understand, like, I need to fill up the tank," she said. As for how she recharges, Williams joked that she's found peace in an unlikely place: the Social Security office. "They will let you wait in complete silence for at least one hour," she said. Jimmy Kimmel Just Revealed That Matt Damon Genuinely Almost Died In His House Amid Their 22-Year Faux Feud — And He's Well Aware Of How Suspicious That Would Have Looked
Any pop culture lover is probably aware of the faux feud between Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel, which all started way back in 2003 when Jimmy ended an episode of his late-night talk show by jokingly saying: 'Apologies to Matt Damon, but we ran out of time.' As it happens, Matt was never billed to appear on the show, with Jimmy later explaining on NPR: 'We had a bad show…. The guests were bad, and I was feeling pretty bad about myself at the end of the program.' He added that he only made the joke for the amusement of one of his producers, sharing: 'Matt Damon was just the first name that popped into my head. I was trying to think of an A-list star and somebody we absolutely would not bump if he was on the show.' This joke immediately became a running gag on Jimmy Kimmel Live, with the host ending his show with the same quip night after night. During an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, Matt admitted that this off-the-cuff moment from Jimmy 'changed the rest of [their] lives' as he confirmed that he'd never even met the host prior to that moment. It was stuck in his throat for about an hour and a half.' 'His brother was there. I said: 'We have got to get him to the hospital,' because if he dies in my house, I'm going to prison for the rest of my life. I will never be able to explain this as anything other than a murder,' the star went on to quip, but thankfully, the trio were able to find a solution with the help of the trusty internet.
