River Island shoppers are loving the dress on TikTok - with some saying it's "classy" and gives "Odd Muse vibes"
River Island shoppers are wowed by a "classy" dress that looks like one from an upscale label. The retailer, known for its trendy fashion and accessories, might just have a new must-have item in store.
The beloved high street brand is selling the Long Sleeve Square Neck Mini Dress for £42, available in various hues; brown, black, cream polka dot, green, pink, and red. Shoppers can find it in sizes six through 22.
The chic dress boasts a square neck, long sleeves, decorative pockets, and a flattering mini cut. River Island's website advises customers to machine wash the garment at no more than 30°C and to cool iron it, but cautions against dry cleaning.
Shoppers eager for similar styles will find options across other retailers too. Next offers the Friends Like These Black Long Sleeve Square Neck Mini Dress at £36.
PrettyLittleThing is currently running a deal on the Chocolate Structured Woven Boat Neck Shift Dress, retailing at only £17.25, reduced from £32. Meanwhile, New Look has the Black Pocket Detail Mini Dress up for grabs at £27.99, reports the Mirror.
On TikTok, the River Island dress has garnered attention, with user Shileen (@shileen18) showcasing the cream polka dot iteration in a recent video, captioned: "Odd Muse vibes from @riverisland."
Fashion account @thescousestylists also posted footage featuring the dress in black during a River Island visit, with the post reading: "The perfect black dress from @riverisland." Overlaying text on the clip said: "This dress is giving Odd Muse vibes."
In the video, the pair chatted about the dress and their styling ideas, remarking: "This is giving Odd Muse vibes. Oh, it is, yeah."
They also thought it would be a "nice" choice for the races and described it as "classy" and perfect for a night out, further commenting that it's "very Odd Muse." They noted it was "such an elegant and classy dress."
Some customers have turned to the review platform TrustPilot to voice their opinions on River Island, particularly regarding the larger sizes, which could be something to bear in mind when ordering online. One individual mentioned: "Lovely quality but not great sizing."
Another shopper expressed: "The quality of most clothes I've tried on are good... but the sizing is HUGE!! I recently bought some new UK size 6 shorts, skirts, jeans and trousers and they slid down my hips and legs! They wouldn't stay on my hips! The dress was huge on me too! I've had to return most of the order (kept the UK size 4 items)."
The dress resembles the upscale Odd Muse's The Ultimate Muse Split Sleeve Mini Dress. The premium dress retails at £135, while the River Island one is priced at £42.
Both dresses share a similar structured style, complete with long sleeves, ornamental pockets, and defined waists, although the Odd Muse creation features a raised neckline and broader, more flared sleeves than the River Island alternative.
For buyers not wanting to break the bank, choosing the River Island dress represents a potential saving close to £93. River Island's Long Sleeve Square Neck Mini Dress can be purchased online here.

Next shoppers rush to buy £118 coat reduced to £49 that's perfect for sudden downpours

Now that summer is basically here, fashion fans are likely contemplating their warm weather wardrobe, often featuring breezy linen outfits. However, this season also presents the perfect opportunity to hunt for off-season steals to stash away for the chillier months. One such steal is on offer at Next, where the Khaki Green Premium Long Padded Hooded Coat has been massively discounted by nearly 60%. Originally priced at £118, it's now going for a cool £49, which means shoppers can pocket a tidy saving of £69. This chic khaki coat is up for grabs in both regular and petite sizes, ranging from XS to XXL. Showcased online by fashion icon Rochelle Humes, the 'stylish' garment is made from a fabric designed to withstand the elements, ensuring you remain dry during unexpected showers. Featuring a snug longline silhouette, the coat boasts a hood and generous pockets for functional flair. There is also a grey version available, currently reduced to £55, down from its original price of £118. Elsewhere, Uniqlo has cut the cost of their Seamless Down Long Coat to £129.90 from £159.90. Meanwhile, Debenhams has whittled down the price of Dorothy Perkins' £89 Longline Padded Coat to just £25, reports the Manchester Evening News. The rave reviews say it all, with Next's Khaki Green Premium Long Padded Hooded Coat earning a shining star-rating of 4.5 out of 5 from numerous happy customers. One delighted buyer said: "Absolutely love this coat. Keeps me very warm in morning dog walks and looks stylish." A second reviewer raved: "Very warm and comfortable. Long enough to keep lower back and legs cosy but still very stylish. Overall really pleased with my purchase." From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What's On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here Another customer gushed: "Love the colour," adding that "It's lightweight, too. The lining keeps you cosy and warm and the hood doesn't blow down in the wind." However, one shopper gave the Khaki Green Premium Long Padded Hooded Coat a two-star review, expressing disappointment that it wasn't as warm as expected. They wrote: " The coat looks very cosy and warm but sadly it's not, which is very disappointing. There are big gaps within filling so you can easily feel the cold and wind." They also criticised the fabric quality, saying: "Quality of fabric is poor. The dirt sticks to it. I washed it only once (after two weeks of casual wearing) as per instructions on the tag but you can barely notice it's cleaned. I don't like giving bad feedbacks but this coat is not cheap so I'd expect better quality from the brand." But another loved their latest Next purchase, adding: "Absolutely beautiful coat well worth the money. Material soft and silky to touch." Somebody else mentioned: "As described, a stylish warm long coat."

Freddy Brazier 'skips brother Bobby's family birthday bash' amid feud with dad Jeff - as he admits he's 'sad all the time' in new TikTok video following mental health battle

Freddy Brazier has reportedly skipped his brother Bobby's birthday bash amid his feud with dad Jeff Brazier over his relationship with grandmother Jackiey Budden - as he admitted he's sad in a new TikTok video. EastEnders star Bobby turned 22 on June 2, and while other loved ones including his father and step-mum Kate were present, his sibling was noticeably absent. Despite Freddy acknowledging the birthday online, it is said that there was 'sadness' felt by the family that Freddy wasn't there to celebrate in person. Freddy was seen this week smoking suspicious looking cigarettes with Jackiey who he is said to now be living with. A source told The Sun: 'It was a really nice family occasion but everyone really missed Freddie. 'He was of course invited but he is making his feelings quite clear at the moment about who he wants to be spending time with.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. They added: 'He did acknowledge that Bobby's birthday online but there was some sadness that he wasn't there with his brother.' MailOnline have contacted representatives of Freddie for comment. Meanwhile, Freddie sparked concern after he shared a TikTok implying he's 'sad all the time'. A clip featuring personal photos containing images including brother Bobby and late mum Freddie, featured words that read: 'I feel sad all the time. I'm not the person I was!' The video, set to a heartbreaking audio of a man expressing his sadness, Freddie's video continued with statements from the audio which said: 'I lost most of me and all the good stuff, all the happiness enjoying, I feel like I'm nothing you know?' 'People think I'm sort of OK you know? Like, I'm getting on with it, I'm snarky now and get, and this is a lapse. But it's not! This is me all the time now. 'I'm not well but I remember what it was like to be normal so I do an impression of that. 'But this is what I really am and I want to be normal again. But I'm weak you know?' Captioning his post, Freddie penned: 'As a man, I bottle up my emotions and hide my feelings away. I rarely let them out to play. With all that's going on in the media right now emotions are high. Feelings are being felt and thoughts are being heard and played out.' He then asked his male followers how they were mentally and urged them to speak out about how they felt and what's 'hurting them'. His post was met with a plethora of supportive messages from fans. It was revealed last month that Jeff is taking action in an attempt to legally block contact between Freddy and the mother of the late Big Brother star Jackiey Budden amid concerns over his welfare. Jeff, shared both Freddy, 20, and Strictly's Bobby with the late Jade Goody who tragically died in 2009 from cervical cancer aged just 27. Jeff has hired a leading barrister for the upcoming hearing which is the latest in part of a long-running feud between Jackiey and Jeff. Speaking to MailOnline from her ground floor flat in Bermondsey, south east London, last month, Jackiey hit out at the proceedings. She said: 'I know what this is all about. It (the situation with Jeff) doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.' She asked: 'Do I want to see Freddy? Of course I do. I see Freddy all of the time. I will see him.' One neighbour said: 'I feel sorry for Jackiey. She's been through so much. It's a complex situation. I just hope they can be all together again as a family. Her grandchildren mean the world to her.' They added: 'How did it come to this that lawyers are apparently involved? She wants to be the best gran she can be to those boys.' It was reported that Jeff has launched legal action in a bid to keep Freddy 'safe' from Jackiey. According to The Sun Jeff is now attempting to block any contact between his youngest son and grandmother, 68, claiming the relationship has been 'incredibly detrimental'. He is also said to have hired a top barrister for the upcoming hearings with a source insisting Jeff's actions prove just how 'concerned' he is.

Clarkson's Farm: Harriet responds to 'awkward' Kaleb Cooper

Cooper has been Jeremy Clarkson's right-hand man since the show first hit screens in 2021. He was instantly a hit with fans, but now appears to have been 'replaced'. Cowan was introduced as the temporary replacement of farm manager Cooper on Diddly Farm. The full-time nurse, who recently urged viewers to 'be kind' following her appearance on the show, was recruited due to Cooper's professional commitments elsewhere. The newly minted millionaire is busy touring a one-man show after finding fame on the Prime Video series. Just started #ClarksonsFarm4 and Harriet is an instant hit with me. I'm sorry but Kaleb might have to start looking for new employment lol Fans of the show couldn't help but notice Cooper appeared rather unimpressed with Cowan upon their introduction when he returned to the Oxfordshire location. Jeremy Clarkson himself pointed out that Cooper needed to be kind to Cowan, telling him: 'Right, now, that's Harriet. Now be nice – behave.' Cooper then stood watching Cowan in silence as she worked, sarcastically questioning her farming skills, with Clarkson chiding him for his attitude. Recommended reading: Cowan has now assured viewers that she gets on with Cooper, and said that they have even become friends away from the cameras. During an appearance on BBC Derby, Cowan, who has a big following on TikTok, said: 'Kaleb's amazing. Me and him are so close now. He's such a good farmer and we got on really well.' She continued: 'He's another farmer to add to my phone list to ring. Everyone checks in to make sure everyone's fine.'
