MCG to deploy 300 tractors to clean up trash from Gurgaon's roads
The civic body will also acquire earthmovers to collect waste from roads and public places, responding to mounting complaints about indiscriminate dumping.
Moreover, MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said the authority was planning to establish compressed biogas (CBG) facilities at secondary waste collection sites to start decentralised waste processing.

"We have floated tenders to hire 308 tractor trolleys for all 36 wards. These trolleys will be provided to councillors to use them in maintaining cleanliness in their wards," said an MCG official.
The city does not have any agency for doorstep waste collection.
A stop-gap arrangement to hire 400 light commercial vehicles for it was planned but could not be executed as many migrant labourers fled the city following the recent police verification drive. The tender process to hire a dedicated agency for doorstep waste collection has been initiated.
"There is no contractor assigned by MCG for doorstep waste collection, so we have hired a private contractor, who is charging Rs 100 per floor for waste collection.

DU opens mid-entry admission, preference editing for UG aspirants from Friday
New Delhi: Delhi University will open the mid-entry option in the undergraduate admissions on Friday, giving another chance to candidates who either missed applying earlier or were unable to complete their applications. The preference editing window will also be opened on the same day. Both options will remain available until 4.59pm on Aug 10. The university will publish the third list of vacant seats under Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for the undergraduate admissions on Aug 8 at 5pm. The mid-entry phase is meant for the candidates who did not register during CSAS phase I or failed to complete phase II. It will also include those whose applications were rejected in previous rounds due to issues such as incorrect subject mapping, ineligibility or invalid documentation. Candidates who did not receive any seat allotment in earlier rounds can also use this window to revise their preferences.
