Thane to celebrate independence day with social initiatives and community engagement
Thane: As the country observes the 79th Independence Day on Friday, several citizens and societies from Thane are taking the offbeat path to celebrate the day and make a difference to society. While a group of activists is working out plans to provide insurance cover to tribals staying along city fringes, an NGO will celebrate the day with children from the weaker segment of society and inculcate the importance of independence among them while a complex will hold a rally in honour of our armed forces.
