ROB CROSS admits being banned as a company director for unpaid tax is 'not the proudest moment' of his life.
The World No.9 has spoken for the first time after being disqualified from acting as a company director for five years after his business failed to pay more than £450,000 in tax.

Four-time major winner Cross set about making it right and has entered into an Individual Voluntary Arrangement to repay the money.
He said: 'It's not the proudest moment of my life. I've done wrong, and I'll hold my hands up to it.
'Going down this route with the IVA to pay the money back means I'm not running. I suppose you make mistakes in life.
'I'm willing to correct them; it's going to tarnish me, but I'm going to do the right thing.

'It's been going on for two years. It has taken two years to get to something of a resolution. It's cost me a lot of money to get there.
'It needs to be paid back. This isn't new news to me. I was probably suffering more than two years ago with it.'
He added: 'I have to admit it's the only thing I am happy with. It's sorted, it's there now. I can just carry on working, pay it back and move forward.
'I was surprised it took the best part of two years to come out. It was a long wait, but there were so many complicated things.

'The UK government didn't want me to go bankrupt, which is rightfully so, and I don't think I've needed to.
'I'm sorry to let all of my fans down. I will get it sorted and get back on my feet. Hopefully, it won't linger over me for the rest of my life.'

Former world champion Cross returns to action today as he begins the defense of his US Masters title against Danny Lauby at Madison Square Garden.
Cross believes his game is in a good place and he is buzzing to defend the crown in New York.
He said: 'Absolutely amazing. I was buzzing walking in. Such an iconic arena. I've been here twice.
'It's been my third time this year. I loved it from day one, but winning it last year was very, very special.
'I've had some new darts and I have to admit, I'm not going to lie, I've had a massive rest.
'I've rested up and sort of tried to build the batteries, that was the aim.
'Even basing it off Copenhagen, I thought I played steady and I was consistent and I never really practised there much, so I'm good.
'I'm mentally good and that's where I need to be.'

Chris Kamara has hinted at his disappointment after only five people turned up to a planned Soccer Saturday reunion dinner. During his 24 years on the programme until he left in 2022, Kamara became one of the most beloved faces on Sky Sports, working alongside the likes of Jeff Stelling, Matt Le Tissier, Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas, Paul Merson, Tony Cottee and Alan McInally as they delivered goals, drama and laughter to millions of viewers on Saturday afternoons. But many of those familiar faces were missing at this week's reunion. Among those who did attend were Stelling, who fronted Soccer Saturday for a quarter of a century before leaving Sky at the end of the 2022-23 season, Bianca Westwood, who departed in 2023, and Nicholas, affectionately known as 'Champagne Charlie', who was let go in 2020 during Sky's revamp of their football coverage. Long-serving producer Alan Condo also attended. Sharing a photo from the dinner, Kamara wrote: 'Soccer Saturday reunion dinner. Only 5 turned up but still a fabulous night. - Condo (producer) - Champagne Charlie - Bianca and of course the Unbelievable Jeff Stelling.' His message suggested he had hoped for a bigger turnout, although he remained upbeat about the evening. While there is no indication of any ill feeling, the low turnout was a reminder of how much has changed since Soccer Saturday's heyday, when the panel exchanged banter, punctuated by goal updates and regular gaffes. Le Tissier, who was among those missing from the dinner, was let go by Sky in August 2020 alongside fellow Soccer Saturday panellists Charlie Nicholas and Phil Thompson as part of a shake-up of the broadcaster's football coverage. The Southampton legend later claimed his dismissal was linked to his controversial opinions, including his refusal to wear a Black Lives Matter badge and his posts on social media questioning Covid-19 restrictions and vaccine campaigns. Kamara, 67, stepped down from the show in 2022 after being diagnosed with speech apraxia but has since appeared on Amazon Prime's Premier League coverage among other media roles. Earlier this month, he told Mail Sport: 'There is no downside to being me at the moment, everybody is so nice. It makes me feel humble, and I'm always surprised at how lovely people are towards me. Toto Wolff picks between George Russell and Max Verstappen amid Mercedes talks
Toto Wolff has confirmed that Mercedes remain in talks with Max Verstappen over a potential switch from Red Bull. But the Austrian insists that George Russell remains the man most likely to race for his team in 2026 and that talks with Verstappen will not delay a new contract for the Brit. Russell's current deal expires at the end of this year and, so far, there has been little movement on that front. Wolff insists that was always the plan, but his team's continuous pursuit of Verstappen has raised speculation that the Brit could be shown the door. Russell was calm about the situation this week when he said that "conversations with the likes of Verstappen are ongoing" for his team. And Wolff confirmed that to be true on Friday, but made it clear that a switch ahead of 2026 remains unlikely. He said: "There is no delay in George's contract negotiations because it has been clear for a long time what our timings were and we've known each other for such a long time, so there is no such thing as a delay. "But as a team principal for the best car brand in the world, it is clear that you're exploring what a four-time world champion is going to do in the future. That could be long into the future, but it has no effect on putting our signature on George's contract." Regard the nature of any conversations he has had with Verstappen about a potential future with Mercedes, Wolff added: "It's also a long-term perspective and to understand what the framework he is operating on, no more than this." And he was clear in his response when asked specifically by Sky Sports if he felt it was more likely that Mercedes will field Russell alongside teenager Kimi Antonelli, rather than Verstappen, in 2026.
