The Fairest Farro Salad of Them All
Hearty summer salads to win friends and influence people
Zesty chicken
Plus, the strawberry pasta that made the Wimbledon crowd scratch its head
Sometimes (OK, most of the time) I have a lot to say about a recipe. Other times, I like to pass the mic to you, the readers, because your comments cover everything and there's nothing for me to add. As such, here's what you're saying about this farro salad, adapted by Melissa Clark from the restaurant Charlie Bird in Manhattan:
'I have lost count of how many times I have made this salad.'
'This salad is delightful! The nuttiness of the farro and pistachios is just great.'
'I made this on a day it was too hot to cook and it was a huge dinner party hit.'
'This is my all time favorite food to bring to a summer potluck. I make it exactly according to the recipe. So dang good!!'
'I just need to make a batch of this every week and have it ready for I'm-too-cranky-to-make-food moods. It's good for you comfort food.'
There you have it: a perfect farro salad for summer. Make a batch, leave your notes for all of us New York Times Cooking cookers and enjoy!

Zesty grilled chicken with citrus slaw: Anything labeled 'zesty' immediately gets my attention; it implies an assertive, but friendly, tanginess and acidity. (Also, as a child of the '80s, this jingle is seared into my brain.) Kristina Felix's new recipe combines a Sonoran-style, citrus-marinated chicken with a crunchy carrot-and-cabbage slaw. Make extra, as I'm betting the leftovers will make terrific tacos.
Roasted tomatoes: The best summer tomatoes, as we all know, should be eaten raw, dressed with only salt and maybe a halo of olive oil. Runner-up tomatoes should be roasted, as in this David Tanis recipe, to be eaten as a side or tossed with pasta.
Chile-garlic salmon with mango and cucumber salad: I am all in on fresh mangoes until they disappear from my grocery store (and that's when I switch to frozen, of course). Ifrah F. Ahmed builds a spicy-sweet sauce from pantry staples; if you're cooking for the spicy-skeptical, simply ease back on the chile-garlic sauce.
Polish tennis star Iga Świątek won her first Wimbledon title 6-0, 6-0, and while most would assume this win was the result of hard work, dedication, sacrifice and talent, I think it was really her meals of strawberry pasta. Kasia Pilat wrote about makaron z truskawkami (Polish strawberry pasta) for The New York Times; you can find the recipe here and watch Vaughn Vreeland make it by clicking on the image below:

Emma Stone Makes Rare Comment About Working with Ex Andrew Garfield: ‘Special Time in My Life'
The former couple met on the set of 2012's 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and dated for four years NEED TO KNOW Emma Stone starred as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man films Stone starred opposite Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) whom she dated for four years The actress made a rare comment about Garfield in a sit-down for Vogue's Life in Looks Emma Stone will always look back at her time with Andrew Garfield with a smile. In a sit-down for Vogue's Life in Looks published on Thursday, Aug. 14, the actress made a rare comment about working with the actor, whom she met on the set of 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man and dated for four years. As fans recall, Garfield starred as the titular character of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, while Stone played Gwen Stacy. The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! The topic of Garfield came up as Stone began discussing the yellow Versace dress she wore to the premiere of 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in London. "I mean, I really loved doing Spider-Man. I loved everyone I worked with. I met Andrew there. I met Sally Field and Marc Webb was wonderful. It was really a special time in my life," the two-time Oscar winner said. Stone said that the people she was surrounded by while filming made her experience better. "The recurring theme is the people, more than kind of like the film itself, is what sticks with me for so long," she said. "And so I have only like the fondest memories of this whole experience." The only complaint Stone had regarding her time filming The Amazing Spider-Man movies was the press tours. "I don't really know how people do it. I remember it being like nine countries in maybe two weeks, and you're functioning in a state of jet lag never previously known to you," she said. "I felt truly psychotic the entire time." In past interviews, Garfield has also spoken highly about Stone and working on The Amazing Spider-Man films. While speaking with Variety in 2021, he said that working on the films was 'beautiful' because he 'got to meet Emma [Stone] and work with her,' as well as Field. As for whether he'll ever step into the world of Spider-Man again, after most recently appearing as the character in the 2021 hit Spider-Man: No Way Home, along with Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland, never say never. Natalya Gets Candid Regarding Naomi's WWE Absence
Natalya comments on Naomi not being medically cleared to compete Monday night on WWE RAW. On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, RAW Superstar Natalya spoke on the situation where Naomi wasn't medically cleared to compete on RAW earlier this week and made it clear that when the Women's World Champion is ready to talk about it, she will. 'Especially for the locker room, it's one of those things that, well, somebody will know what's going on, but in this situation, like, Naomi is a really close friend of mine, but I just feel like it's a time right now where she needs space. 'So usually when something crazy is going on, I don't think it's crazy in a bad way, but I think that, like, obviously, it's private, it's personal. Nobody ever wants to go down with an injury,' Natalya said. 'Knowing how hard Naomi has fought to get this spot that she's in. Natalya reflects on Naomi's Money in the Bank Cash-In 'She's at the top of the division. She has this groundbreaking moment at Money in the Bank. She wins it, and then she cashes in at the second-ever all-women's pay-per-view, she cashes in at Evolution, which is a great way to cash in. I mean, every girl was at Gorilla, hugging her and crying, and every guy was too. Everybody was just so happy for her, so excited for her. 'So it is crazy, because she is so excited. As far as I know, the last time we talked, she's like, 'I know what I have, and I'm so grateful for it. I can't believe all this is happening.' But, I feel like she's so, so beyond grateful for it. So whatever is going on right now, it's definitely like, there's a part of me that wants to be like, 'Hey, Trin, like, what's going on? Tell me, give me the scoop.' 'But the other part of me is like, sometimes when people are going through something, or they're dealing with, like I said, an injury or some extenuating situation, I feel like she will talk about it when she's ready to talk about it, but I know she would have loved to have wrestled IYO on Monday.' [H/T: Fightful] Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more on Naomi's WWE status as it becomes available.
