Rich Eisen Predicts $70M NFL Contract for Aaron Rodgers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still pondering their quarterback situation for 2025.
Plan A is Aaron Rodgers, with whom they've met in an extended visit at the Steelers' facility. Coach Mike Tomlin says they had a 'really good day' with Rodgers on his visit to Pittsburgh and got to know Rodgers better.

Plan B is ... well, who knows what Plan B is for Pittsburgh, or if they have a Plan C. Maybe Mason Rudolph starting is somewhere in there.
A lot of the speculation about Rodgers joining any team this season involves his salary requirements.
Rodgers is on record saying he won't sign a one-year deal. So he'll want at least two. And on a recent episode of his show, Rich Eisen predicts what the annual compensation would be.
"I think [Aaron Rodgers is] gonna start with a four. North of [$40 million]," Eisen said during his show. "How about this? Two years, $70 million, with incentives that can pop it up more," Eisen predicted.

Rodgers is 41 years old and had a bad season last year in New York by anyone's standards. The former Super Bowl MVP signed a three-year, $112.5 million deal with the Jets, for an average annual payout of $37.5 million.
Why does he think he deserves a raise for his performance in 2024, a season after suffering a torn Achilles?
Rodgers couldn't even finish that deal with the Jets as they cut him a year early. That's why he's available now. One word comes to mind with regard to Rodgers and his future:
Retirement.

Khalil Mack: Staying with Chargers was less about finances than about winning games
Chargers outside linebacker Khalil Mack says looking for the most lucrative contract offer wasn't his top priority as free agency approached in March. Mack, who stayed with the Chargers on a one-year, $18 million deal, said he thinks there's more he can accomplish with the Chargers and wants to be part of what they're building. 'I had to be fair in the approach to things and not making it about just finances and all the different things,' Mack said, via ESPN. 'I tried to make it more so just about winning ball games.' The Chargers went 11-6 last season in Jim Harbaugh's first year as head coach, and that has Mack thinking about a bright future in Los Angeles. 'Just not wanting to give up on that goal and that ambition that I have ever since I stepped into the league,' Mack said. 'I knew I wanted to play in important games and win a Super Bowl.' For all that he has accomplished in his NFL career, Mack has never experienced winning a playoff game. That's something he thinks he can do with the Chargers, and is one of the reasons he's back for another year.

Steelers OC Arthur Smith hilariously says they didn't sign Rodgers to 'run the wishbone'
Steelers OC Arthur Smith hilariously says they didn't sign Rodgers to 'run the wishbone' Steelers OC Arthur Smith hinted at some offensive scheme changes coming in 2025. A conflict of offensive interest seemed to be brewing with the signing of Aaron Rodgers — who threw the second-most pass attempts in the NFL last season — fitting with the run-heavy Steelers, who ran the ball the fourth-most often in 2024. At mandatory minicamp, Smith made it very clear that the additions of Rodgers and DK Metcalf will see the ball fly through the air more in Pittsburgh (courtesy of Mike DeFabo): "Obviously, as your roster evolves — we didn't bring Aaron in here and sign DK for all that money to go run the wishbone." The wishbone, a RB-heavy formation once popular in college football, was clearly a sarcastic dig at anyone questioning whether or not the team would commit to the same offensive philosophy with Rodgers and Metcalf — but it appears Steelers fans that love a good passing attack may have their wish granted this season. Steelers players reveal their NBA Finals predictions: Pacers vs. Thunder
As the NBA Finals rage on — the Pittsburgh Steelers have weighed in on the exciting matchup between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder. Ahead of Game 3 on June 11, the Steelers asked their players to decide which NBA team will walk away victorious and recorded their answers. Here is the final tally of votes: Indiana Pacers: 5 votes Cam Heyward, Beanie Bishop Jr., James Pierre, and two others picked the Pacers to win the best-of-seven series — which may have provided Indiana with just enough good luck to walk away victorious in Game 3 later that night. Oklahoma City Thunder: 11 votes There is definitely a lot of OKC love in the Steelers locker room — as Calvin Austin III, Darnell Washington, Alex Highsmith, Patrick Queen, Nick Herbig, Broderick Jones, Jaylen Warren, and four more voted for the Thunder to win the NBA Finals. Honorable mention: Minkah Fitzpatrick was the last Steeler to cast his vote, and he said he'd pick the New York Knicks to win it all if they were in the Finals.
