Ramayana First Look Teaser: On July 3, 2025, the makers of Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra's film finally revealed the first look promo from the project. It featured the first-ever glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as his nemesis, Ravana. Ever since, the film has found a way to trend on the Internet for one reason or the other. A little over a month after unveiling the first glimpse, the makers of Ramayana hosted a small quiz, asking cinephiles to pick their favourite moment. And the internet certainly made its choice.
The first look of Ramayana left fans even more curious; however, they were now sure that they were in for a visual treat. With music by Interstellar fame Hans Zimmer, in collaboration with AR Rahman, VFX by Hollywood artists and the deep baritone which took fans inside the word of Ramayana, fans can't seem to zero-in on one key moment from the first look.
A section of social media users said they were in awe of Ravana aka Yash in Ramayana. Others lauded the background score and VFX. Ranbir Kapoor fans rooted for him in the comment box. And some remained neutral: 'Every second is a wow moment especially rama's arrow and the beautiful title." Take a look:

Ramayana: Ranbir Kapoor's Lord Rama clashes with Yash's Ravana
Ramayana will be released in two parts. On July 3rd, 2025, the makers unveiled the epic universe with a global launch of Ramayana: The Introduction, setting the stage for the timeless battle between two of mythology's most iconic forces: Rama Vs Ravana. The video started from the roots – the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva who rule the world. With striking animation, the video introduced characters from Ramayana – Lord Rama played by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. 'Ten years of Aspiration. Relentless Conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world's best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of Reverence and Respect. Welcome to the Beginning. Let's Celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama v/s Ravana. Our Truth. Our History," wrote the makers while sharing the first look. Watch Ramayana first look here:
Ramayana budget to cross Rs 4000 crore?
Ramayana, touted as one of the most expensive films ever made, is backed by Namit Malhotra. Reportedly, the film's budget is speculated to cross Rs 4000 crore. Trade analyst Komal Nahata recently addressed speculation around the film's budget on Faridoon Shahryar's podcast. 'I don't know if it's ₹4,000 crore. I asked the same to Namit [Malhotra, co-producer], and he was visibly hurt that I asked that question. He said, 'I'm not here to calculate the budget. I want to make Ramayana part 1 and 2 out of shiddat [passion],'" Nahata recalled.
Malhotra, the force behind global VFX powerhouse Prime Focus (and its Hollywood wing DNEG), had earlier opened up on the project during a conversation with Prakhar Gupta. 'So, when we set out to make it, six, seven years ago, just after the pandemic, when we started to really get serious about mounting it and producing it, and budget-wise, it was like everybody thought I'm a lunatic. Because no Indian film, by a long distance, comes close to it. So, to put it simply, it'll be about $500 million by the time we're done, on both films put together, part one and part two, which is over Rs 4,000 crore," Malhotra stated.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios along with the 8-time Oscar-winning VFX studio DNEG, in association with Yash's Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is being filmed for IMAX and will be released worldwide: Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

Desi Korean Man Tries Live Octopus For The First Time, Watch His Reaction

Trying unusual foods for the first time often makes for the most entertaining reactions - and this latest viral video is proof. A Korean man with desi roots recently took on the daring challenge of eating live octopus, a dish known in Korea as sannakji. Served fresh with sesame oil, the tentacles are still moving when brought to the table, making the experience as thrilling as it is nerve-wracking. In the clip, the man can be seen seated at a restaurant next to another diner, watching closely as they try the wriggling seafood first. The video was shared by the Instagram page @40kahani. The video begins with him saying, "Kabhi aapne live octopus khaaya hai? Yeh live octopus hai, yeh dekho, naach raha hai. Oh my God. Isko kaise khaayenge? Sesame oil mein dip karke khaana hai." (Have you ever eaten live octopus? This is a live octopus, look, it's dancing. Oh my God. How will we eat this? We have to dip it in sesame oil before eating.) Sitting next to someone at a restaurant, he asks them, "Gale mein toh nahi fasega na?" (It won't get stuck in my throat, right?) The person beside him takes the first bite. Then, gathering courage, the vlogger tries it himself and looks surprised. After chewing, he says, "Hmm, acha hai." (Hmm, it's good.) "Eating live octopus for the first time! #korean #kpop #bihari #desikorean Crazy experience! But it was better than I expected!" read the caption of the post. Check out the full video below: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Yechan C. Lee (@40kahani) The internet was quick to react to the video, with opinions ranging from amused to curious. One person commented, "Hum noodles ke aage nahi jana chahte, sorry" (We don't want to go beyond noodles, sorry), while another chimed in, "Bhai, vegetarian ban jao yaar" (Brother, just become vegetarian). Some shared their own experiences, like one user who said, "I have tried many times and it's always delicious." Adding a humorous twist, another wrote, "Iska pakora bana do, Charlie bhai! Maza aayega!" (Make a fritter out of this, Charlie bhai! It'll be fun). Not all comments were critical; one viewer called out the judgment, saying, "Indian vegetarians really be out here judging meat-eaters, smh. Learn to respect other cultures or don't expect them to respect yours." Questions also popped up, like "How does it taste, bhai?" (How does it taste, brother?) and light-hearted sign-offs such as "Hume maaf kariye, Charlie bhai" (Forgive us, Charlie bhai). Wrapping it up, a final comment read, "Sorry, it's not my favourite dish of Korea whatsoever."
