State to increase the number of food testing laboratories
The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) organised a one-day awareness programme on preventive health and food safety, here at Red Hills on Friday.
The event sponsored by KFC India Sahyog Program to support and revive small food businesses saw an attendance of over 300 food vendors and professionals from the region.
The event was followed by a food safety training and certification programme for the participants.
GHMC Zonal Commissioner Anuraag Jayanti stressed the importance of a collaborative approach to food safety.
'It must be a collaborative effort between the government, industry, civil society, and community stakeholders under a strong Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework. The government is also working towards increasing the number of food testing laboratories to strengthen our regulatory capabilities and ensure better coverage across urban and rural areas,' he said.
The training programme included technical sessions, presentations, distribution of hygiene kits, and a business training module.
General manager (KFC India) Moksh Chopra , national head of Yum Brands India, Aman Gupta, senior officials from Department of Food Safety, and FSSAI were present.

CT scan and MRI facilities to start soon in Delhi Government hospitals
Good news for people living in Delhi: The Delhi government is soon going to start CT scan and MRI facilities in its government hospitals. Health Minister Pankaj Singh has confirmed that the necessary process for launching these services is already day, thousands of patients visit government hospitals in Delhi for treatment. However, most of them face long delays in getting an MRI scan, which is crucial for diagnosing serious health issues. Currently, out of 36 government hospitals in the capital, only three hospitals, LNJP, GB Pant, and Indira Gandhi Hospital, offer MRI to this shortage, patients either wait for several months for their scan or pay a high price to get it done in private centres. To solve this problem, the Delhi government has decided to provide these facilities in more hospitals. Health awareness programme in Kalaburagi on Wednesday
Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI) will in association with the Arujiva Holistic Healing Centre - Kalaburagi organise an awareness programme at KKCCI Auditorium here on Wednesday to mark the International Day of Action for Women's Health. KKCCI president Sharanabasappa M. Pappa told presspersons here on Monday that a team of doctors led by Rekha and Shalini will educate women about Naturopathy treatments such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Meditation that can offer a holistic approach to health and well-being. Naturopathy aims to promote the body's natural healing abilities through various modalities. Mr. Pappa said that the programme will also incorporate counselling and consultation to empower with knowledge and practices for self-care and treatment. Kalaburagi North MLA Kaneez Fatima will inaugurate the programme. Deputy Commissioner B. Fauzia Tarannum will be the chief guest on the occasion. Members of various women organisations, including Maheshwari Mahila Sangha, Sanghini Jain Group, Rotary Inner Wheel Club, Spandana Mahila Sangha, Mahila Ekta Manch and Rajasthani Mahila Mandal, will attend the awareness programme.
