BJP calls for development of Tier-2, Tier-3 cities for equitable growth and control urban migration
BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Wednesday has highlighted the need for development to the Tier-2 and Tier -3 cities of Telangana for ensuring equitable growth distribution. It is not enough for Hyderabad capital region alone to be developed as rest of Telangana too should be brought onto the growth path and urban migration can be controlled only when sufficient employment opportunities should be created in the rural areas, he observed. Giving an insight into the party's road map for growth and development of the State at an event organised by the Federation of Telangana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) here, the State president has pointed out that the Central government has laid lot of emphasis on promoting start ups as well as small, medium and micro level enterprises which provide more employment opportunities. A separate Skill Development Ministry has been formed yet the industry is looking for skilled manpower, averred the former MLC and wondered if any policy level changes were necessary to deal with it. There is no development in the corporate sector and despite the Opposition accusing Centre of being a 'suit boot sarkar', it has created an ennobling environment for firms to thrive, he claimed. The BJP-led government at the Centre has been aiding Telangana and Hyderabad in building the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) and also the circular rail network abutting it to provide better connectivity. Mr. Rao called upon the youth to ride on the entrepreneurship model making use of the new age technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Semi-Conductors and others so that they can turn to job givers than job seekers. The Modi government initiatives has led to direct benefit transfer of schemes with the opening of bank accounts to those sections untouched with the banking sector, he said and sought suggestions from the organisation for improving upon the ease of doing businesses rules. Future City will redefine Telangana's urban development: Deputy CM Bhatti
HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday claimed that the proposed Future City will become a game changer for the development of Telangana. The deputy CM was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the new conference hall at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) headquarters in Hyderabad. Highlighting the state government's push for transformative development initiatives such as the Future City, Musi river rejuvenation and the Regional Ring Road (RRR) projects, he said: 'Once these projects are completed, Hyderabad's growth will be beyond imagination.' 'Future City will be a game changer that will redefine urban development in the region,' he added. He also revealed that the government was chalking out plans to develop IT, pharma and housing clusters between the ORR and RRR. The deputy CM, meanwhile, announced that the government was mulling the idea of introducing a one-time settlement scheme for pending power bills, a long-standing request from industry stakeholders. He also highlighted Telangana's strengths as an investment destination, its world-class infrastructure, skilled workforce, international airport, and stable power supply, including plans to introduce green energy for industries. 'Hyderabad is a goldmine of innovation and talent. Let us create wealth not just for a few, but for every household in the state,' he said. He said that as part of its broader vision for inclusive growth, the government has started initiatives like the Skills University and Ambedkar Knowledge Centres aimed at equipping youth with industry-relevant skills. He also reiterated the government's aim to empower one crore women and transform them into millionaires within five years. 'Creating wealth is not the end goal. It is a means to enhance the dignity of our people and fulfil their aspirations,' he said while calling for collaboration between government, industry and civil society to ensure equitable distribution of wealth across Telangana.

One-time settlement of pending power bills on the cards: Deputy CM
A one-time settlement scheme for pending power bills, a long-standing request of industry, is under the consideration of the State government, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said. Addressing industrialists after inaugurating the new conference hall at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) premises here, the Deputy CM said this highlighting the government's commitment to developing a pro-industry environment. 'Our doors are always open,' he said, asserting Telangana government operates as a people's government, with direct access to the Chief Minister, Ministers and senior officials. He said there are plans to develop dedicated clusters for IT and pharma industries as well as those for housing between the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and the Outer Ring Road. Citing the government's push for transformative development initiatives such as the Future City, Musi River rejuvenation and the RRR projects, he said, 'Once these are completed, Hyderabad's growth will be beyond imagination. The projects will be a game-changer and set to redefine urban development in the region.' A release from the Deputy CM's office said he also highlighted Telangana's strengths as an investment destination, its world-class infrastructure, skilled workforce, international airport and stable power supply, including plans to introduce green energy for industries. Govt invites entrepreneurs to UP Int'l Trade Show-2025 at Hyderabad roadshow
The second roadshow in the series leading up to the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS)-2025 was successfully held on Friday at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) Hyderabad. The event witnessed participation of over 150 industrialists, exporters, trade consultants and business organisations. The roadshow aimed to enhance national awareness and participation in UPITS 2025 scheduled for September. The UPITS is more than a trade fair, it is a platform to bring global recognition to our artisans, MSMEs and local entrepreneurs.' Raj Kamal Yadav, additional commissioner (industries), UP government, highlighted that UPITS is India's first state-led international trade show. 'Last year, the event generated business worth Rs500–600 crore, with major companies like Titan placing orders with local artisans. It's opening doors to global markets for small manufacturers,' he said. He also emphasised the potential for synergy between Uttar Pradesh and Telangana, both industrial powerhouses, especially in sectors like IT, textiles, pharma, and handicrafts. FTCCI president Suresh Kumar Singhal lauded the initiative, calling it a model for national collaboration and domestic export promotion. Sudip Sarkar, CEO, India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), shared that UPITS 2025 is expected to generate business worth Rs2,000 crore. The event will feature over 2,400 exhibitors, 1.25 lakh B2B and 4.5 lakh B2C visitors, along with 35,000 B2B meetings and participation from more than 550 international buyers representing over 70 countries. The event showcased key features of UPITS 2025, including dedicated B2B zones, buyer-seller meets, ODOP displays, and the cluster export model. The trade show is being jointly organised by the Uttar Pradesh government and IEML. Upcoming roadshows are scheduled in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Thriving industry shapes stronger economy, empowered society, says Telangana Governor
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Tuesday stressed the importance of pursuing excellence. 'Excellence is not an act or habit. It is a mindset and a way of thinking,' he said, presenting FTCCI Excellence Awards 2025 at a function organised here by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) here. The awards recognise exceptional achievements across 19 categories spanning industry, innovation, CSR, healthcare, science and entrepreneurship. Applauding FTCCI's contribution to Telangana's industrial ecosystem, said, 'A thriving industry shapes a stronger economy and an empowered society. Telangana stands tall today as a progressive industrial State.' The Governor urged the audience to dream big. 'As [Reliance Group founder] Dhirubhai Ambani said think big, think fast, think ahead. And as [Infosys co-founder] N.R. Narayana Murthy believes — performance leads to recognition, recognition to respect, and respect to power. But humility remains the greatest mantra for success,' he said. Addressing the gathering, Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthi highlighted Telangana's industrial leadership. He urged industries to leverage new initiatives of the government such as the Digital Employment Exchange and the labour training platform. FTCCI president Suresh Kumar Singhal said the awards recognise leaders who fuel Telangana's economic engine. Established in 1974, the awards promote innovation, quality, entrepreneurship and sustainable growth. Over the past five decades, they have become a hallmark of excellence in the region. Awards Committee chair Ramakanth Inani said, 'The recognitions shine a light on transformative contributions by both organisations and individuals.' Members of the jury Justice Challa Kodanda Ram, former IAS officers M. Gopal Krishna, Ajay Mishra and B.P. Acharya and former director of IIT-Hyderabad Uday B. Desai were felcitiated.
