Roof of Dargah Near Humayun's Tomb Collapses, 12 Rescued
Twelve people were rescued after part of the roof of a dargah, or the tomb of a Muslim saint, collapsed in Delhi's Nizamuddin area Friday evening. The building - the Dargah Sharif Patte Shah - is located inside a 16th century complex of religious structures and gardens housing Mughal ruler Humayun's mausoleum.
Visuals from the site showed a small, lime-green building around an open courtyard.
The roof on one side of the building appeared to have collapsed. Rescue workers were seen on site.

Unconfirmed reports say there were 15-20 inside the building, including the imam, when the roof, which is believed to be about 25-30 years old, collapsed. The site has been cordoned off.

Superintendent of Police (SP), Kinnaur, Abhishek Shekhar said an investigation is underway.

The fire started on the ground floor and then spread to the second and third floors. The room on the third floor, where the bodies of the woman and the two children were found, was locked from outside, he said. According to the complaint, building owners constructed the building illegally without obtaining safety clearances or proper permissions, and without making arrangements for adequate lighting, ventilation, or emergency exits. A Fire Department official said they received the call at around 3.14 am. Eight vehicles were deployed and 55 firefighters and 21 officers were at the scene trying to control the fire, said the official. "It is a kind of godown with a lot of things stored inside, making it difficult to put out the fire," he added. The building is situated in a densely populated trading hub in the city. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and the rescue work is ongoing, officials said.

Punjab Police conducted raids at 301 locations; arrests 38 drug smugglers
Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], August 16 (ANI): Continuing the war against drugs 'Yudh Nashian Virudh" waged by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to eradicate drug menace from state consecutively for the 168th day, Punjab Police conducted raids at 301 locations on Saturday leading to the arrest of 38 drug smugglers after registration of 28 first information reports (FIRs) across the state. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached 25,909 in 168 days, said an official release. The raids have resulted in the recovery of 620 grams of heroin and 1612 intoxicant tablets/capsules from the possession of arrested drug operation was conducted on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, simultaneously in all 28 Police districts of the CM Bhagwant Mann has asked the Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendent of Police to make Punjab a drug-free state.
