Lorraine episodes have been slashed by 30 minutes and Good Morning Britain extended as part of the surprise switches.
From January 2026, Lorraine will run daily from 9.30am until 10am for 30 weeks of the year, a change from its current 9am to 10am slot.
While GMB will run from 6am until 9.30am, extending its current slot of 6am until 9am. It will be produced by a dedicated team within ITV News at ITN.
On days when Lorraine is off air, GMB's broadcast will be extended until 10am.
Fellow ITV Daytime shows This Morning and Loose Women, along with Lorraine, will be made by ITV Studios and broadcast from a new location in central London.
This Morning and Loose Women are unaffected by the scheduling changes and remain in their regular slots of 10.30am to 12.30pm and 12.30pm to 1.30pm, respectively.
While on-screen talent will remain secure in their roles, some production staff will be victims of the reshuffle.
Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV's Media and Entertainment Division, said: 'Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will enable us to continue to deliver a schedule providing viewers with the news, debate and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust as well generating savings which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.
'These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations and expand our national, international and regional news output and to build upon our proud history of trusted journalism at a time when our viewers need accurate, unbiased news coverage more than ever."
Earlier this year, ITV announced it would be slashing its soap schedule to try and make savings on Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

From January 2026, the two serial dramas will air as 30-minute episodes to create a soap 'power hour' from Monday-Friday.
There has also been the suggestion the channel is considering offers from RedBird IMI and Banijay for its ITV Studios arm, which makes everything from Love Island to Rivals.

British Soap Awards viewers accuse ITV of ‘cutting out' chants for EastEnders actress as BBC show dominates ceremony

BRITISH Soap Awards viewers accused ITV of "cutting chants" for EastEnders' Laura Doddington on a night when the BBC soap dominated its rivals. Ironically, the alleged quieting of cheers for Laura came during the Best Newcomer gong, which was won by Hollyoaks' Isabelle Smith. 3 3 While viewers accepted Francine Osborne actress Isabelle was a worthy winner, they were keen for popular Laura, who plays Nicola Mitchell, to get her flowers. One person wrote on X: "ITVX cutting the chants for Laura is EVIL." Another said: "I was gutted Laura didn't win this award but the huge (edited out) chants of 'Laura! Laura! Laura!' from the audience hopefully made up for it." A third fumed: "Naw as if they cut out our chant for Laura In total, Enders scooped eight awards on the night including the coveted Best Soap, Best Leading Performer and Scene of the Year. The televised ceremony got off to a nightmare start when a tech issue forced it off air for seven minutes. An apology message read: "We're sorry for the disruption." Fans were quick to take to social media with their complaints. One wrote: "What the hell is going on ? Will it ever come on?" A second said: "Oh dear looks like we got major problems on ITV1." Sharon Watts furiously punches rival Nicola Mitchell in new EastEnders feud A third commented: "Well, I guess I am not watching The Soap Awards on ITVX. What's going on?" While other fans thought the broadcaster was deliberately sabotaging the awards - which saw BBC rival EastEnders pick up a number of awards on the night. One wrote: "British Soap Awards not on are ITV going to be sorry for the disruption for the next 2 hours just because EastEnders won almost everything." Coronation Street suffered a devastating loss, bagging just the specially curated Outstanding Achievement Award which went to Roy Cropper star David Neilson. The show failed to secure wins in any of the main panel or viewer-voted categories amid ITV's ongoing cash crisis and the mass cast exodus at the soap over the past six months. 3 British Soap Awards 2025: Winners List Here's who took home trophys at the 2025 British Soap Awards Best Single Episode - Eastenders: Phil's Psychosis: The Mitchells In 1985 Best Young Performer - Emmerdale - Amelia Flanagan as April Windsor Scene Of The Year - Eastenders: Angie Watts' Shock Return Best Newcomer - Hollyoaks: Isabelle Smith as Frankie Osborne Villain Of The Year - Eastenders: Navin Chowdhry as Nish Panesar Best Family - Hollyoaks: The Osbornes Best Dramatic Performance - Eastenders: Steve McFadden as Phil Mitchell Best On-Screen Partnership - Eastenders: Rudolph Walker & Angela Wynter as Patrick & Yolande Trueman Outstanding Achievement Award - Coronation Street: David Neilson Best Comedy Performance - Eastenders: Patsy Palmer as Bianca Jackson The Tony Warren Award - Emmerdale: Mike Plant Best Storyline - Hollyoaks: Sibling Sexual Abuse Best Leading Performer - Eastenders: Lacey Turner as Stacey Slater Best British Soap - Eastenders

Equalities watchdog writes to GMB union over sexual harassment claims

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has formally written to the GMB union asking for information on how it's complying with the Equality Act following allegations of sexual harassment, victimisation and sex discrimination, Sky News understands. Former staffers and members of the union had launched an official complaint to the equalities watchdog earlier this year over claims of institutional sexism and bullying, but this is the first time it has deemed them serious enough to start inquiries. It's the first step in a possible investigation by the equalities watchdog into activity at the union over systemic sexism, and GMB has just under a month to respond. GMB has said it categorically denies claims of a culture of bullying or sexism within the union. "GMB has been contacted by the EHRC with a request for information," said a statement. "This is a procedural matter and not an investigation. "We look forward to responding properly and professionally to their request." 'Institutionally sexist' In the original complaint, which Sky News has seen, a number of women allege there is a "pattern of victimisation and harassment against women who speak out" about wrongdoing inside the Labour-backed union. They argue it could be a breach of GMB's duties under the Equality Act. GMB is one of the biggest unions in the UK, but has been struggling with its reputation for years. Four years ago, a damning report written by Karon Monaghan KC branded the union "institutionally sexist" and, a number of women who complained to the EHRC insist the union hasn't changed. GMB represents about 630,000 workers in the UK and is one of the Labour Party's major funders. Sir Keir Starmer gave the keynote speech at the GMB conference a year before the last general election and numerous cabinet ministers, including the prime minister, are members. This weekend, the union, which prides itself on fighting for people in their own workplaces, will once again meet for its annual conference in Brighton - but this time with looming questions over how fairly it treats its own.

Loose Women CANCELLED as ITV panel bid farewell to viewers ahead of schedule shake-up set to leave fans livid

Friday's instalment of Loose Women has been cancelled in a schedule shake-up. Kaye Adams, 62, revealed the news at the end of Thursday's episode of the ITV show. Loose Women usually airs Monday to Friday from 12:30pm on ITV1. But at 1pm tomorrow (6 June 2025), ITV will air the racing, so viewers will enjoy the first Derby meeting from Epsom. After Kaye's co-stars Frankie Bridge, 36, Nadia Sawalha, 60, and Kelly Brook, 45, showed viewers how they sleep at night, Kaye said: 'Well thank God I'm going! That's it for today and this week sadly. 'We're off tomorrow for the racing. 'We've got a great line-up next week though, including Cheshire housewife Tanya Bardsley, 44, Atomic Kitten's Liz, 44. 'She shares a very personal health story. Plus Si King, 58, and Alison Hammond, 50, are here too. 'We will see you Monday. Have a great weekend!' Loose Women has been hitting headlines recently after it was revealed the chat show, along with Lorraine, has been axed for half the year. ITV announced the big shake up to its daytime schedule amid huge cuts last month. Loose Women will only air for 30 weeks of the year. Plus MailOnline recently revealed that ITV will axe a vital part of the show which viewers love in a desperate bid to save money. The series is scrapping their live studio audience when the programme airs with a reduced schedule of just 30 episodes next year. Bosses have got rid of the studio audience to save costs, with insiders revealing that it's an expensive feature due to being managed by an external company, who also provides security and a warmup person, but for the presenters, it's going to be a 'disaster.' A TV source told MailOnline: 'The panelists are really upset over the decision to axe the live studio audience from the show. 'It's what sets the series apart from the rest of ITV daytime and now there are massive fears that viewers will switch off completely. 'The only concern now is to cut costs and having a live studio audience can be expensive, with the added need for security and a warmup artist. 'Presenters already know how it feels to broadcast the show without an audience because that's what happened during the pandemic, and they all know it creates low mood and lack of atmosphere.' Meanwhile Kaye Adams has broken her silence on the brutal ITV cuts. She admitted that she's suffered 'sleepless nights' after her 'life imploded' and 'has no idea what's going to happen.' She told her How To Be 60 podcast co-host Karen MacKenzie: 'To be perfectly honest, we have no idea at this point, what's going to happen. 'I didn't anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect. You get into a sort of rhythm of life. 'I had a couple of sleepless nights I have to say, because it's just like the rug's been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.' She continued: 'It's going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible. It's a huge change.' Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV1 from 12:30pm and is available to stream on ITVX.
