Notre Dame football to host Chicago 2027 4-star cornerback Tavares Harrington this fall

USA Today13 hours ago
Notre Dame football has had great success recruiting its neighboring state of Illinois, and in the 2027 cycle they are trying to continue that trend.
Tavares Harrington, a 6-foot, 3-inch and 175-pound cornerback announced on Wednesday what his plans will be for this fall, and will be in South Bend as the Irish take on Texas A&M on Sept. 13th according to Rivals. He's one of the nation's top players, as the 247Sports Composite has him as the No. 99 overall prospect in the 2027 class.
Notre Dame is battling multiple others schools for Harrington such as Miami, Georgia, Michigan, Auburn, Alabama and few others. The visits this fall will go a long way in impressing the star corner, as you have to believe that the teams who he will be visiting are near the top of his list.
Hopefully Harrington sees everything that Notre Dame can offer him, and the Irish win out in his recruitment.

Pleasant Raven's game conditions are in Baltimore's forecast

Thursday begins on a mild and somewhat humid note across central Maryland. Temperatures are running from the mid-60s in Frederick, to near 70° at BWI and mid to upper 60s across the Eastern Shore. Patchy fog and low clouds are possible through sunrise across the Baltimore metro. Weather shouldn't have much of an impact on your out-the-door routine. Plan on a bit more sunshine than yesterday. Still, there will be rounds of clouds overhead. Brief and spotty rain showers are possible this afternoon. Temperatures peak in the upper 70s and lower 80s between 3 and 5 p.m. The First Alert Forecast looks great for the Raven's game at M&T Bank Stadium; dry and pleasant-feeling, with temperatures in the 70s. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The sky clears as we head into the second weekend of August. As nice as last weekend was, this coming weekend is shaping up to feature the same sort of weather. Mornings are forecast to be pleasantly cool, while afternoon features temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Humidity, however, remains low through the weekend. While warm, it won't feel too bad outside. The First Alert Forecast remains dry both Saturday and Sunday. Monday will be the first afternoon that Baltimore pushes 90°. It only gets hotter from there. Temperatures warm into the lower 90s Tuesday afternoon and mid to upper 90s Wednesday afternoon. Humidity will be more noticeable next week, as well. When factoring in the mugginess, it'll feel hotter than 100° in parts of central Maryland by Wednesday afternoon. A front approaches mid-week, just as the heat begins to get more intense. Scattered Wednesday storms should give way to slightly cooler weather again later in the week.

North Carolina could bring back iconic uniform for 2025 football season

Will the Tar Heels bring back an iconic uniform? The excitment around the North Carolina Tar Heels' football program is at an all-time high as they get ready to usher in a new era under Bill Belichick. As the legendary head coach begins his first season with the program, many are hoping he can turn things around. There will be a lot of attention on the program nationally as well. Belichick is obviously a big name in the business and landing a head coach like him was huge for the program. It also opened up the door for new opportunities in terms of revenue and fun ideas for the program. That includes the return of a classic uniform possibly this season. Per Taylor Vippolis of Inside Carolina, the Tar Heels have placed an order for the 1980's throwback uniform, hoping to wear them this year. The Tar Heels brought back the navy uniforms a few years back which ended up being a hit. This classic uniform is a fan favorite, donned by Lawrence Taylor among other Tar Heel legends. Bringing it back would be a HUGE hit with the fanbase and with Belichick's ties to Taylor, it makes a lot of sense. There's no word on if these were approved or what games they would wear them for but I can't see why they would say no. Let's hope we get to see these at some point this season.
