Sky axe legendary children's channel today after 17 years
The broadcaster is removing the children's channel POP Max from all platforms on Tuesday, due to its owner Narrative Entertainment UK Limited closing it down.
It first launched in 2008 as Kix before rebranding to POP almost 10 years later in 2017.
Sky aired POP Max and POP Max +1 on Sky Q and Sky+HD, as well as POP Max HD on Sky Glass and Sky Stream.
The channel was a favourite among children, known for showing animated programmes including Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series and Droners.
The move by Sky follows POP Max being taken off Freeview last year, following a shift in digital streaming, reports The Sun.
All changes to POP channels on Sky from today
However, other POP-branded channels, including Tiny POP will remain on Sky, but some are moving as a result of the POP Max closure:
Tiny POP moves from 618 to 615 on satellite only
POP+1 moves from 619 to 618 on satellite only
Tiny POP+1 moves from 629 to 619 on satellite only
It's reported many of the children's shows that previously aired on POP Max will continue to be available on demand via the free POP Player app.

Sky offers you 35 extra channels for free this weekend, here's how to claim them
Sky is back with a limited-time incentive that's offering over 35 premium channels for free. It's not every day you get something for free, but that's exactly what Sky has decided to offer over this weekend. Customers can bag themselves over 35 premium channels without having to reach for their credit cards. This blockbuster update has been launched as part of Sky's Ultimate TV Weekender, and those who subscribe won't want to miss out. So, who gets the free channels and how do you claim them? Sky says there's no action required with the bonus getting unlocked unti Monday, June 9. It's available to those who currently subscribe to Sky's Essential TV pack, with the upgrade offering full and instant access to Sky Ultimate TV bundle instead. For those not in the know, the change adds extra channels such as Sky Max, Sky Crime, Sky Documentaries, U&Gold, and Comedy Central to TVs. Shows that can be found on these platforms include Matlock and The Rookie, Hacks, Rob Beckett's Smart TV, Boyzone No Matter What, Planet Weird and The Righteous Gemstone. Explaining more, Sky said, in an email sent to Mirror Online: "From 6 – 9 June, Sky Essential TV customers can access Sky Ultimate TV at no extra cost. "There's no action required, all Sky Essential TV customers will have access to Sky Ultimate TV and 35,000 shows over the rainy weekend." Now you might be wondering what Sky gets out of giving away free channels. Well, we are guessing it hopes that the little taster will get Sky Essential TV users upgrading to Sky Ultimate TV for good. If you do tune in and fancy switching things up it will cost you an extra £7 per month. It's certainly been a very busy week for Sky. Along with announcing this free content boost, the company has also revealed when its all-new Sky Glass Air telly is going on sale. This screen will arrives in homes next week, and offer live and on-demand telly via your broadband so there's no need for a dish. It also comes packed with all the most popular streaming apps, features a 4K display and Dolby Audio for better sound. There are three sizes to choose from (43', 55', and 65') plus three colours (Sea Green, Carbon Grey, and Cotton White) to suit your room. It's not quite as impressive as the Sky Glass Gen 2 TV, but it's worth a look if you're on a budget.
