ITV This Morning host pleads 'oh don't' as star walks off set midway through segment

One star of This Morning shocked his colleagues as he disappeared off screen during the ITV programme on Monday
Gyles Brandreth left This Morning presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley stunned when he abruptly left the set during Monday's ITV show.
The 77-year-old presenter chose to exit the discussion as it shifted towards "ghostworking" - the concept that employees pretend to be busy whilst actually doing very little.

Gyles then mentioned: "As well as ghostworking, have you heard about revenge quitting? This is an interesting phenomenon - one in seven people admit to revenge quitting, this is where an employee walks out at the most inconvenient time."

He then illustrated his point by humorously exiting the studio, off camera, stating: "So it's been lovely knowing you all."
Cat implored him with a surprised, "Oh Gyles, don't," urging him to return for the next part of the show. "Come back and talk about wedding photos," reports Wales Online.
Ben chuckled and joked, commenting on Gyles' recent gripes about the costs of being a grandfather: "Who is going to pay for the grandkids if you storm out?"
Gyles frequently joins the hosts, who stepped into Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's shoes in March last year, alongside other broadcasters and journalists to discuss current affairs on the programme.
Despite the show facing scandal in 2023 when Schofield confessed to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague, Gyles has expressed how much he values being part of the This Morning team.

He previously exclaimed: "We are very happy to be here. Can I say that as well? This is a happy place to work.
"I enjoy coming in here and have done since I began coming in."

The Celebrity Gogglebox star became a familiar face on This Morning starting from 2021, and his choice of lively jumpers has consistently amused the audience.
His remarks about the programme were made following Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond's comments on This Morning being the subject of media buzz.
Dermot had remarked: "We happen to be in the news at the moment and of course we appreciate that, but just from both of us and the whole team here, the crew, the guys downstairs, we love making this show for all of you."
Alison chimed in with: "We really do and that's exactly what we're going to do."
This Morning is on ITV weekdays at 10am and on ITVX

Coronation Street prison break as Mick Michaelis ESCAPES and launches desperate bid to reunite with family - with a life left hanging in the balance

Coronation Street 's Mick Michaelis escapes from prison and launches a desperate bid to reunite with family - with potentially deadly consequences. In upcoming shocking scenes of the ITV soap, the crook - played by actor Joe Layton - returns to the Cobbles in a bid to be with his kids Joanie, Shanice, and Brody again. As viewers will know, Mick was sent to prison after being arrested and charged for the death of the much-loved character PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith). The police officer originally responded to a domestic which was called by Mick's wife Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty), but she told him to go away. But Craig later found Mick and the builder attacked him after finding out that his wife had an affair with Craig'sboss Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). Mick was sent to jail for his crime, but fans will see him break out of jail to be with his family again. He ends up going to Weatherfield High to see if he can catch his kids, but soon heads to Coronation Street after realising that Sally (Sally Dynevor) took her home from school. Little does Sally know that Joanie's evil dad isn't far behind them. Speaking ahead of the episode, actor Joe said: 'He isn't after revenge, this is about him wanting to get his family together and start a new life with them. 'The anger that we saw when he killed Craig has been replaced by desperation and love for his family, but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. 'Kit is potentially putting his life on the line once more in his attempts to stop Mick.' Mick first appeared on Corrie back in February 2025. He moved in with his wife and family at 12 Mawdsley Street. Since then he has appeared in 53 episodes. Back in Match Joe revealed he was leaving his role on the ITV hit soap. It was revealed that Joe's stint was always planned to be temporary after he originally joined on a fixed contract for a special storyline, with no 'shock' exit planned. An insider has since told The Mirror that Mick's character will remain on screen until late July, with the soap source teasing there was 'lots more to come'. Corrie's Mick and wife Lou have caused quite a stir on the Cobbles with their arrival as they quickly made friends with Chesney and Gemma. After landing the role, Joe explained that it was a dream come true to join the ITV show. He said: 'Coronation Street is such an institute in British television and to get to walk down the cobbles in Mick's shoes is so exciting. 'To also do it alongside Farrel is awesome - we are having great fun together and connecting really well whilst developing our characters. 'It also gives the opportunity to get a look behind the curtain of this huge machine and be a small cog within the big picture of Coronation Street and to work alongside people who take such pride in their work. 'It's just a really happy place, friendly and welcoming. I'm going to relish every moment of it.' Previously discussing his villain role, Joe explained that he was very excited to be portraying an 'interesting' character. He added: 'I really enjoy playing what people would refer to as a baddie or a villain, because for me the most interesting thing is all how we move past the first initial judgement of them, especially when you're going to be playing them. 'It's really interesting because when you're playing a character, a part of you has got to love them and empathize with them and understand them. 'I always think 'how do I get into this character's shoes and why is it the way he is and why does he do the things that he does?' So I always find it really rewarding and a real kind of privilege to any character, but especially the psychologically complex characters. 'Working with Sam and Dolly-Rose has been amazing, like I said, everyone at Corrie is so welcoming and the Winter-Browns are an iconic family!'

Alison Hammond makes Rod Stewart Glastonbury confession to bemused son Aiden

Allison Hammond and her son Aiden were in stitches after the This Morning presenter made a joke during Rod Stewart 's Glastonbury set. Appearing on Channel 4 's Celebrity Gogglebox on Friday (4 July), the 50-year-old reacted to crowds dancing at Worthy Farm during the teatime legends slot on the Pyramid Stage on 29 June. Waving her arms side to side, she said: 'I could be there on someone's shoulders, swaying, that would be nice.' She then turned to her son Aiden and asked if he could have her on his shoulders, to which he promptly replied 'no', which resulted in a roar of laughter from both the mother, son and the presenter's sister Saundra.
