(FOX40.COM) — Lawyers for the suspect accused in a series of 2023 stabbings that left two people dead and another injured in Davis are expected to begin introducing their own witnesses in his trial on Monday.
Video Above: Week two of the Davis Trial has just concluded
The prosecution in the case against former UC Davis student Carlos Dominguez spent the past two weeks of the trial bringing witnesses to the stand.
So far, the court has heard from a number of people tied to the case, including the officers who arrested Dominguez, witnesses who found the bodies of the deceased victims, family members of the victims, and surviving victim Kimberlee Guillory.
In late April and early May of 2023, three people were stabbed over five nights.
The first two victims, David Breaux and Karim Abou Najm, died from their injuries. Guillory was stabbed twice through her tent.
The trial was originally estimated to last ten weeks though proceedings are ahead of schedule.
