GK8 by Galaxy Expands Secure Institutional Access to Solana DeFi Protocols

Cision Canada31-07-2025
NEW YORK, July 31, 2025 /CNW/ - GK8 by Galaxy, a leading institutional-grade digital asset custody platform, is expanding its secure decentralized finance (DeFi) access to include the Solana blockchain. Financial institutions and crypto funds can now securely interact with Solana-based decentralized finance protocols, such as Orca, Radium and Jupiter, using GK8's trusted, policy-controlled infrastructure already widely used for Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible (EVM) chains.
As DeFi becomes a vital component of institutional digital asset strategies, demand for access to Solana's high-speed, low-cost ecosystem continues to grow. GK8 meets this need by offering a seamless, compliant, and secure way to engage with Solana DeFi applications, without relying on third-party wallets or having to give up governance controls.
"Crypto funds are diving deeper into DeFi – not just for yield, but as part of their core trading and investment operations," said Lior Lamesh, Co-Founder & CEO at GK8 by Galaxy. "With Solana DeFi now available through GK8, our clients can act on new opportunities without compromising on usability, security, or compliance."
Seamless DeFi Access Across Solana and All Major Chains
GK8's DeFi integration allows institutional users to:
Transact directly with Solana and EVM-based protocols via MetaMask and WalletConnect
Maintain full control while interacting with DeFi from GK8-managed uMPC (Unlimited Multi-Party Computation) wallets
Enforce internal governance policies, including transaction- and role-based permissions, and multi-step approvals
Initiate trades, swaps, and liquidity activity directly from GK8 managed accounts
Achieve unmatched performance, with up to 7,500 signatures per second
All DeFi activity, including on Solana, is routed through GK8's proprietary uMPC framework, ensuring institutional-grade security and compliance with internal policies.
Built for Institutional Scale
From OTC desks and asset managers to crypto funds and regulated financial institutions, GK8 empowers clients to tap into DeFi across multiple ecosystems, using their own infrastructure, with no fragmented tooling or vendor risk.

Bybit and FXStreet TradFi Report: Gold Poised for Breakout

DUBAI, UAE, Aug. 13, 2025 /CNW/ -- Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, issued its latest TradFi report, highlighting gold's enduring safe-haven appeal as investors prepare for major macroeconomic events. Following a record high earlier this year, gold is trading in a narrow range with neutral momentum, signaling potential for a decisive move as inflation data, tariff deadlines, and central bank policy decisions approach. All-Time High: Gold touched a record $3,500 on April 22, 2025, and is now consolidating near $3,365. Defined Range: Since May 20, trading has remained within $3,274 support and $3,443 resistance. Neutral Momentum: Daily RSI stands at 50, with MACD flat, indicating balanced market forces but rising breakout potential. Macro Watch: The August 12 inflation report, tariff deadlines, and the September 17 Federal Reserve decision could spark sharp price swings. Labor Market Weakness: The latest U.S. jobs report revealed a significant hiring slowdown, fueling rate-cut expectations. Diversification Play: Silver is holding at $40, with potential to retest its $50 all-time high. Gold's consolidation comes as macroeconomic uncertainty builds, with weakening labor data and trade tensions adding to market caution. Technical patterns point to stored momentum, while silver's parallel strength offers an additional diversification opportunity for investors. The weeks ahead may prove pivotal in determining the next phase of price action for both metals. #Bybit / #TheCryptoArk /#BybitResearch About Bybit Bybit is the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, serving a global community of over 70 million users. Leith Wheeler CEO, Jim Gilliland, said "Québec has a long history of supporting independent investment managers and we are committed to broadening our ability to service clients in this important market. While we already manage assets for several of the largest institutional clients in Québec, our first priority in expanding our presence was bringing on partners who understand the unique needs and preferences of Québec-based clients, and have the knowledge and reputation for integrity that are central to our firm. Eric and Denis fit these requirements perfectly." He added, "This just marks the beginning of Leith Wheeler's commitment to Québec. There is a deep pool of investment talent in the province, across both client-facing and research functions, and we look forward to growing our footprint." "The fact that the firm is 100% owned by its employees meant a lot to me when deciding to join. That independence means that every decision we make can put client interests first, without having to satisfy outside stakeholders – so when our clients win, we win. It's clear as well that Leith's vibrant culture which values teamwork, innovation, and service and will make it a great place to work. I look forward to building the team in Montréal."
