Honda Reveals the New Prelude's Interior Ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix
Honda is showing off the interior of its new 2026 Prelude for the first time in Tokyo ahead of the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix this weekend — and as it turns out, anyone familiar with the Civic or Acura Integra interior will feel right at home inside, because it's mighty similar.
The Prelude's infotainment system, climate control panel and (most of) the center console are all ripped more or less straight from its sibling cars. That said, it's not exactly the same: you'll notice a big difference in that center console, with the 'S+' button sitting proudly ahead of the drive mode toggle selector. The air vent design is also unique to the car, though it still bears more than a passing resemblance to the Integra's.
Honda uses a flat-bottom steering wheel with a center marker at the top for the Prelude, and we can also spy some prominent shift paddles mounted to the wheel. The digital instrument cluster looks just like the one you'll see on the Civic and Integra, though the startup sequence features a Prelude flipping its lights on in dramatic fashion.
What's unique to the Prelude appears to be all the window dressing. Honda uses blue and white as the interior colors in the vehicle depicted; the dressed-up two-tone seats are particularly attractive, with their large bolsters and 'Prelude' embossed into the headrest. White leather with blue stitching is used along the dash and doors for further splashes of color. We'll need to sit in it to truly know, but the trimmings already look like they could be more luxurious than the Integra's.
The last angle Honda showed off was the hatch fully open. The shallow load floor looks like it will limit the Prelude's utility (especially with the tiny rear seats up), but it already looks more usable than previous generations that only offered a tiny trunk.
All Honda has to say about the interior itself is that it's designed to provide a 'gliding euphoric feeling' and bring 'tokimeki' (the spark of joy). We're looking forward to finding out for ourselves – as well as finding out whether the driving experience will also spark joy.

There are many trite sayings about chefs, ingredients, and the like, as they relate to tuning a car. All of which I would like to say about the facelifted 2025 Acura TLX Type S, because it is a lesson in the importance of execution over raw parts. With its 355-horsepower single-turbo 3.0-liter V-6, frankly excellent all-wheel drive, and dual-wishbone front suspension—it has no excuses. Yet it falls just short. Type S has been around since 2001 as a sub-brand within Acura. It always represented something accessible yet forbidden—close to Honda Type R's but not quite, thanks to a luxury twist. The first was the 2001 Acura CL Type S, but the most truly memorable Type S cars were the Acura RSX Type S and TL Type S from 2002. The RSX got a 200 horsepower, 8,000 rpm K20 four-cylinder engine, while the TL got larger Brembo brakes and a handling package to better complement its 286-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6. The TLX Type S, then, represents an extreme Type S product. Acura painstakingly developed the aforementioned 3.0 V-6 just for the MDX and TLX Type S . The TLX is a car unique to Acura, with special body construction allowing a large (for a front-drive based car) dash-to-axle ratio. Honda Civic Type R Ultimate Edition Marks European Sales Exit
The Honda Civic Type R will no longer be sold in Europe after next year. Honda's hottest hatch is leaving the market due to emission rules, but it's bidding farewell with the limited-volume Ultimate Edition. Honda will sell 40 copies of the CTR Ultimate, which gets red exterior decals and various carbon-fiber trim pieces. If you live in Europe and are considering buying a new Honda Civic Type R, you may want to act fast. Honda has announced that it will stop selling the hot hatch in the market next year. To say goodbye to Europeans, the CTR is getting a special send-off in the form of the Ultimate Edition. Farewell, Civic Type R Why is the Civic Type R exiting Europe? Honda says the decision was due to "European legislation," meaning the racy hatchback's 324-hp turbo four is too rich for the region's emission rules. That means Honda will sell 40 Ultimate Editions along with the rest of the CTR inventory, which should run out in 2026. Honda The Ultimate treatment includes a red stripe that runs down the middle of the hood. It's paired with red decals on the car's body sides that fade into hashes. The black-painted roof contrasts with the CTR's classic Championship White paint, which is the only color you can get on the Ultimate Edition. As the Euro version of the ultimate Civic drives into the sunset, an exclusive carbon-fiber wing will adorn its rear spoiler. Special CTR Trinkets Inside, the Type R's red carpet and fantastic front seats remain, but Honda has added more ambient lighting as well as carbon-fiber trim. The latter material graces the hatch's center-console panel and door-sill plaques. And when you open the front doors, the Type R logo is illuminated onto the ground. Each of the 40 Ultimate cars will also come with a gift box with an individually numbered emblem. Honda Honda Honda hasn't said how much the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition will cost, but considering it's only building 40 of them, the collector cars will likely come with a sizable premium. The upcharge will also include a special car cover, floor mats, and a carbon key ring. Meanwhile, those of us in the States might miss out on some desirable European-only models, but at least we can still buy a new Civic Type R for the foreseeable future.
