
UT Martin basketball to host Lady Vols in Pat Summitt Heritage Classic
The game will honor Summitt who served as the Lady Vols' head coach and played for UT Martin.
Tickets for the in-state matchup are now available through UT Martin's athletic ticket office, ranging from $25-$60. Premium ticket packages are also available for $200. Children under five will be admitted free, but must sit in a parent's lap. Tickets for the game are not part of the Skyhawks' season ticket package and anyone sitting in a seat must have a ticket, regardless of age.
The Lady Vols lead the all-time basketball series versus UT Martin, 15-2. The contest will also mark the fourth time Tennessee will play at Martin, including the first time since 1997. The teams last played on Nov. 7, 2024, with the Lady Vols winning, 90-50, at Food City Arena.
Summitt won eight national championships, 16 Southeastern Conference regular-season titles, 16 SEC Tournament championships, while advancing to the NCAA Tournament Final Four 18 times at Tennessee. She compiled an overall head coaching record of 1,098-208.
Summitt was an All-American for the Skyhawks.

Tennessee basketball to host five-star center
Second-year head coach Kim Caldwell and Tennessee continue to recruit future Lady Vols. Tennessee will host 2027 five-star center prospect Eve Long. The 6-foot-3 center will visit Tennessee on Sept. 13, according to Dushawn London of 247Sports. 'Eve Long, the No. 7 overall prospect in the class of 2027, has locked in multiple fall unofficials,' London announced. Long is also scheduled to visit Notre Dame on Oct. 18 and Kansas on Oct. 25. She is from Olathe South High School in Olathe, Kansas. Long ranks as the No. 2 center nationally in the 2027 247Sports Composite. The 2027 prospect has SEC scholarship offers Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Texas. Caldwell guided the Lady Vols to a 24-10 (8-8 SEC) record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in the 2024-25 basketball season. Tennessee will tipoff its 2025-26 season Nov. 4 versus North Carolina State in Greensboro, North Carolina (ESPN2). Lady Vols soccer defeats No. 1 North Carolina
Tennessee (1-0) kicked off its 2025 soccer season Thursday with a, 2-0, win against No. 1 North Carolina. Rankings reflect the preseason United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Lady Vols recorded their first win over a top-ranked team in program history. Tennessee also won its first game versus the Tar Heels all time. North Carolina leads the all-time soccer series against the Lady Vols, 12-1-1, dating to Sept. 5, 1997. Shae O'Rourke scored two goals for the Lady Vols against North Carolina. She scored in the 57th and 76th minutes. The Tar Heels led Tennessee, 14-7, in shots. North Carolina also led the Lady Vols in corner kicks, 6-3. Tennessee will next play Sunday at Regal Soccer Stadium. The Lady Vols will host Eastern Kentucky. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. EDT and can be watched on SEC Network+. Bunny Shaw awarded No. 9 jersey for Manchester City
Former Tennessee soccer player Bunny Shaw was awarded a No. 9 jersey by Manchester City Women's Football Club. Shaw played for the Lady Vols from 2017-18. She won the Golden Boot award for a second consecutive year with Manchester City during the 2024-25 season. Shaw won the award for a second consecutive season despite having back-to-back campaigns end prematurely due to injury. She totaled 12 goals, while appearing in 14 top-flight matches. Shaw led the Women's Super League, averaging 0.85 goals per game. She shared the award with Arsenal's Alessia Russo. The former Lady Vol previously wore No. 21. No. 9 is traditionally associated with a center forward or striker, a player who typically leads an attack for scoring goals. Shaw has scored 106 goals in 91 games for Manchester City. She previously played professionally in France for Bordeaux. Manchester City opens its regular season versus Chelsea on Sept. 6. Kickoff is slated for 8:30 a.m. EDT.
