Broncos to unleash 'super six' together for first time
The takeaway from that fact ahead of the home clash with Parramatta on Friday night is that the fifth-placed Broncos' premiership window is well and truly open.
Ideally they would like to be closer than four points outside the vital top four, but they have a chance to make the most of the stars aligning to give them a red-hot crack at the title.
The first-choice spine of Reece Walsh, Ezra Mam, Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt had their first game together in the 26-14 win over Gold Coast before the bye.
Prop Haas has returned from two weeks off after he was rested from the Titans match due to a lower back injury, and will partner lock Carrigan in a fearsome pack.
It's all systems go for the Broncos, but it is up to them to make the most of it.
"I'm looking forward to a really strong performance. We've got everything to play for," coach Michael Maguire said.
"There's an opportunity there to be taken. It's not so much about who we're playing, it's about what we're doing. It's really important.
"We've got a fair bit out of the last five weeks, the way we've played."
The Broncos have won their past five games after a sequence of six losses in seven matches.
Haas has been a marvel after going above and beyond to play for the side, despite carrying a lower back injury for most of the year.
"He's worked hard. He's sacrificed a lot of time to make sure his back's right," Maguire said.
"Payne has actually had a real good couple of weeks. I'm glad now that we rested him (against the Titans) ... and he's looking forward to what's ahead."
The return of veteran Hunt against the Titans, from two months out with a hamstring injury, has given the Broncos a second rudder to complement captain Reynolds.
"Having Hunty there, that's pretty handy for us with obviously the experience that he brings," Maguire said.
"He will develop as he keeps going because he hasn't played a lot of nine in recent times, but he's played in big games, so he knows what he's doing."
In injury news, giant prop Ben Te Kura is set for more time on the sidelines after a foot fracture playing for Souths-Logan.
"He's had a really tough run, the big fella. He got a bit of a slight fracture in one of his bones in his feet," Maguire said.
"Unfortunately, he's been in and out. He should be back for two or three games at the back end (of the season), we're hoping."

The last Lions whitewash?
The Lions have not won a series whitewash for almost a century. Victory over Australia in the third Test on Saturday will deliver a first clean sweep since their tour of Argentina in 1927. The Lions, made up of English and Scottish players, won all four Test matches in somewhat humble beginnings for the Pumas. According to the Lions website, the River Plate Rugby Union – now Union Argentina de Rugby – recognised those four matches as the first official games of the Argentina national team. Can Maro Itoje become the first Lions captain since Scottish lock David MacMyn to lead the tourists to a series whitewash? Fundraising page launched following Higham's cancer diagnosis
A FUNDRAISING campaign has been set up to help out rugby league legend Micky Higham following his latest cancer diagnosis. In June, the former hooker who counts St Helens, Warrington Wolves, Wigan Warriors and hometown club Leigh among his former clubs during a 500-game career was diagnosed with widespread stage four cancer after discovering a lump on his lower back. It is the second such diagnosis for the 44-year-old, who had fought off stage three melanoma in 2022, but now his family are calling on the rugby league community for support. A JustGiving page has been set up for donations towards the family and potential access to promising clinical trials in Europe, with no such options available in the UK. At the time of writing, more than £23,000 of donations had been pledged with an initial target of £25,000 looking set to be beaten. A fundraising walk is also due to take place on Sunday, August 24, with full details to be confirmed in due course. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO DONATE

Important defender sidelined for Crows' top-two push
Important Adelaide defender Max Michalanney will be sidelined for at least the rest of the AFL home and away season with a hamstring injury. Michalanney, a crucial part of Adelaide's backline, was substituted with the injury in the third quarter of Saturday night's thumping win over Port Adelaide and will miss four-to-six weeks. It means the Crows will continue their push for a top-two berth without the versatile defender, who will need to prove his fitness for finals. "It's unfortunate for Max given the season he's been having," Crows high performance boss Darren Burgess said. "Thankfully for us, we know he's an extremely diligent worker and will do everything possible to return stronger." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Adelaide Crows (@adelaide_fc) Michalanney, 21, had played 64 of a possible 65 games since his debut in 2023. Adelaide will miss Michalanney against Hawthorn's dynamic forward line on Friday night, while he will also be sidelined for games against West Coast, Collingwood and North Melbourne. The Crows (56 points), sit second behind Collingwood (60) and just ahead of Brisbane (54). Geelong, Hawthorn, GWS and Fremantle (all 52 points) are all jostling for top-four berths.
