Two men have been taken into custody in relation to a brazen shooting which left a grandmother dead in Sydney's southwest.
Police allege three men approached the Ambarvale home of 65-year-old Kim Duncan about 11pm on Monday April 14, before a number of shots were fired in the direction of the house.
Ms Duncan was inside the house at the time, as were her 34-year-old son and a 21-year-old woman.
While her son and the woman were uninjured, Ms Duncan was shot in the leg. She died of her injuries at the scene while being worked on by paramedics.
On Wednesday, police said they had arrested a 32-year-old man at a home in Atkinson St, Liverpool.
Detectives also arrested a 19-year-old man at a home in Sudbury Street in Belmore.,
The two men have been taken to Bankstown Police Station, where they remain in custody.
No charges have been laid.
Police are also searching for a third person they believe could assist with the investigation.
Police released footage of the moment the two men were arrested, their heads down as they were led to the back of the police van.
One of the men wore a hoodie over his head as he was walked through the station, while the other was dressed in shorts and barefoot.
Addressing media shortly after the shooting took place in April, NSW Police Superintendent Grant Healy said the family was 'very, very upset'.
'It's tragic … your mother and grandmother to your children has been shot by cowards that stood out the front of the house,' Superintendent Healy said.
'Somebody coming up to a house and putting shots off is totally reckless, and the consequences are catastrophic.
'We have a 65-year-old grandmother that's been shot in the leg by people that walked up and shot at her house.'
It is understood at least six bullet holes were pictured in the front wall of the house.
Superintendent Healy said he believed the attack was targeted but it wasn't clear who the target was, nor the motivation.
NSW Police have urged anybody with dashcam or CCTV of the incident to contact them.

Horrifying moment car runs over crocodile at infamous crossing

This is the horrifying moment a ute was filmed running over a crocodile at an infamous crocodile-infested river crossing in the Northern Territory. In the footage, a black ute can be seen making its way through Cahill's Crossing when a large crocodile surfaces from underneath its back wheel. The reptile appears to be stuck as it is dragged by the car, with its mouth hanging agape. Sensing something is wrong, the ute then attempts to reverse, freeing the animal from underneath its wheels before placing the car in drive and running over the lower half of its body again. Matteo Mastratisi, who captured the wild moment on video, told that it was 'definitely unintentional.' 'It wasn't the driver's fault. You couldn't see the croc until he went over it and he couldn't stop the car in the middle of the crossing either,' he said. Mr Mastratisi believed the got away largely unscathed. This is hardly the first time the infamous waterway has made headlines. Situated within the Kakadu National Park, the river is home to over 10,000 known crocodiles. According to the park's website, there are around five to nine crocs per kilometre. Late last year, two men had to be rescued after their ute washed off the road and swept to its side, forcing them to climb out the window and take refuge on the side of the vehicle. A spokesperson told at the time that traditional owners at the park are disappointed at the behaviour, noting it 'puts everyone involved at risk of injury or even death.' Just one month earlier, chilling video emerged of careless families fishing while a young child played at the water's edge of the river. In the clip, a young boy could be seen climbing over rocks in the murky water as a large number of huge saltwater crocodiles lurked nearby. Kakadu continues to urge people to practice croc safety, reminding visitors that 'crocodiles usually hunt by staying submerged and can attack in knee-deep water.' 'Observe all safety warnings, always be aware of you surroundings, maintain a safe distance from the waters' edge and never swim alone.'

Thai gunman kills five people at Bangkok market before taking own life, police say

A gunman has shot and killed five people at a popular fresh food market in Thailand before killing himself, local police say. The victims included security guards at the Or Tor Kor market in the Chatuchak district in Bangkok, according to a police statement. The Erawan Medical Center, which coordinates emergency medical services, reported two women were also injured. The market, next to the sprawling Chatuchak Market, carries all sorts of goods and is popular with Thai and foreign tourists. A video circulating online reportedly showed the shooter wearing a baseball cap and shorts walking in the market with a backpack strapped to his chest and a handgun in his right hand. Police said they were probing details about the suspect, including his motivation. Police General Kitrat Phanphet, chief of the national police force, said he has ordered city police to carry out their investigation quickly and gather all evidence, including closed-circuit video footage. Gun violence is not unusual in Thailand, which has fairly restrictive laws but also a high level of gun ownership. The last mass shooting incident in Bangkok was in October 2023, when a teenage boy, using a modified blank pistol, shot more than half a dozen people at the Paragon shopping mall in the city's main shopping district, killing three. One of the country's worst mass killings occurred in October 2022 in the north-eastern province of Nong Bua Lamphua, when a police sergeant, who had lost his job, used guns and knives to kill 36 people, including two dozen toddlers at a day care centre. In February 2020, a disgruntled Thai army soldier shot and killed 29 people, most at a shopping mall in the north-eastern city of Nakhon Ratchasima, before he was killed by police after an 18-hour stand-off.
