Tottenham fires Ange Postecoglou weeks after Europa League title
Tottenham finally got their trophy, but now they don't have a coach.
The club has sacked manager Ange Postecoglou on Friday, just over two weeks after winning the Europa League title.
He was two years into his four-year contract with the club.

'Following a review of performances and after significant reflection, the Club can announce that Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties,' the team said in a statement. 'Whilst winning the Europa League this season ranks as one of the Club's greatest moments, we cannot base our decision on emotions aligned to this triumph.'
In the Europa League final, a 42nd-minute goal by Brennan Johnson was enough to stave off Manchester United.
In a larger context, the win guaranteed the club a spot in next year's UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.
But that was one of the only bright spots of the season.
Tottenham finished 17th in the Premier League, their worst-ever finish in the club's history, and were just one spot away from the relegation zone.

'This has been one of the toughest decisions we have had to make and is not a decision that we have taken lightly, nor one we have rushed to conclude,' the team added. 'We have made what we believe is the right decision to give us the best chance of success going forward, not the easy decision.'
Postecoglou, who won two league titles with Celtic FC of Scotland before coming to the EPL, finished his time at Tottenham with a 47-15-39 record.
One of Tottenham's best players, Pedro Porro, thanked Postecoglou on Instagram for all that he had done for him during his time at the club.
'Thank you for everything, boss,' he wrote. 'For mentoring me early on, helping me settle into the club, and trusting me out on the pitch. I'll always be grateful for the way you led us, defended us, and kept us going through all the highs and lows. Above everything, you gave us one of the greatest moments in the club's history and for that, you'll always be celebrated. Wishing you all the very best, boss.'

Nat Sciver-Brunt scored an unbeaten half-century to continue a successful start as captain, smashing back-to-back boundaries to seal the win inside 11 overs. West Indies recovered to 43 for three when rain forced the players from the field for what turned into a five-hour delay and saw the match reduced to 21 overs a side. When play resumed, West Indies rewarded the remnants of the Somerset crowd with some fireworks – hammering 39 runs from their final three overs – but Sarah Glenn bagged three wickets on her return to the one-day side, as England restricted their opponents to 106 for 8.
