Jamie Gittens looks set to join Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window after reportedly agreeing terms with the Premier League club.
The 20-year-old was on top of the Blues' three-man shortlist for a new left winger, which included Alejandro Garnacho and Nico Williams.

The move comes after Chelsea decided not to sign Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal from Manchester United and while uncertainty reigns over Mikhailo Mudryk's future.

Chelsea have agreed a seven-year contract with Gittens, but have not yet come to agreement on the transfer fee with Dortmund, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.
The west London outfit, who have been long time admirers of the young attacker, 'submitted an official proposal' to the Bundesliga side, who see the player's sale as 'key' to their summer rebuild under manager Nico Kovacs.

Gittens is 'keen' on moving to Stamford Bridge ahead of next season and could even complete the transfer in time for the Fifa Club World Cup if both sides agree on a deal before Tuesday's deadline.
Bayern Munich were previously said to be interested in the winger, who has also played as an attacking midfielder, but have not put in a bid of their own.

FIFA Club World Cup bracket: Schedule, groups for 2025 tournament

FIFA Club World Cup bracket: Schedule, groups for 2025 tournament Show Caption Hide Caption Timing of FIFA Club World Cup problematic for teams across the globe Seth Vertelney explains why the timing of the FIFA Club World Cup is sounding alarms for franchises across the globe. Sports Seriously The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is approaching, with the 32-team tournament featuring some of the biggest club teams in global soccer. The new format for the Club World Cup includes a major expansion, with the old version of the event featuring just seven teams in most editions. Now, though, the event will feature group-stage play akin to what most fans will recognize from the men's and women's World Cups. The path through the bracket will be tough for MLS's representatives. Lionel Messi and Inter Miami have a viable path out of their group, and LAFC (the final entrants to qualify) could do the same, but both will be up against it unless multiple European giants fall in the first round. The Seattle Sounders, meanwhile, will face newly-crowned Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in what is arguably the hardest group in the tournament. does Club World Cup bracket work? The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will work through a bracket familiar to any fan of international soccer. Much like the World Cup for national teams, the Club World Cup will start with a group stage, with the 32 participants divided into eight groups of four. Those groups will operate on a round-robin basis, with a given team playing the other members of the group once, and the top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout round. That will leave 16 teams standing, and from there it's pretty simple: winners advance, losers go home. The knockout stages will progress from a round of 16 to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the tournament final on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. When does the FIFA Club World Cup start? The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will run from June 14 to July 13 at locations spread throughout the United States. Lionel Messi and Inter Miami are set play in the opening match, which will see the MLS contenders take on Egyptian club Al-Ahly at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, at 8 p.m. ET. Chelsea's Shock Bid for Dortmund's Star Winger Unveiled

Chelsea's Shock Bid for Dortmund's Star Winger Unveiled originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The summer transfer window is well underway with many English clubs looking to add premier talent and Chelsea is at it again. Advertisement Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea have submitted a bid of about €35m for Borussia Dortmund's electrifying winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. While negotiations are expected to continue, the two sides have agreed to personal terms according to reports. The move shows the club's ambition to bring an improved attack to the inaugural Club World Cup as well as add to their already elite group of young talent. According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the player 'only wants to join Chelsea,' as he views the move as a crucial point in his career with hopes of making England's senior team for next year's World Cup under Thomas Tuchel. Advertisement After graduating from Manchester City's development academy, Bynoe-Gittens moved to Dortmund in 2020. He made 48 appearances this season, scoring 12 goals and dishing out five assists, including a noteworthy goal in the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid. On the pitch, he brings a dynamic skillset. Bynoe-Gittens is known for his pace, directness, and dribbling ability, making him an exciting young playmaker. Chelsea's pursuit of Bynoe-Gittens aligns with Enzo Maresca's vision of a high-pressing attacking system. He would join a youthful attack along with the likes of Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, and Pedro Neto. It's clear that Dortmund is open to business. Gittens is not a natural fit in the eyes of head coach Niko Kovac, and because the Bundesliga team is planning a summer makeover, his sale becomes a necessity. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 7, 2025, where it first appeared.
