Adopt tech to overcome labour issues, farmers told
The Minister has distributed drone sprayers to four agriculture groups in Chinnabbipuram village of AS Pet mandal on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Ramanarayana Reddy said that the government has been bringing drastic changes in agriculture sector in the interest of uplifting the living standards of the farmers. The Minister said that at the same time, farmers must utilise the opportunities for securing better profits with less investments in the cultivation.
He said the government proposed to offer each drone sprayer which would cost Rs 10 lakh for just Rs 2 lakh by providing Rs 8 lakh subsidy to the agriculture groups to make agriculture a profitable activity.
He said that as many as 10 drone sprayers were sanctioned for Atmakuru constituency. Of these, four have been distributed so far. The Minister urged the farmers to utilise the sprayers as it will help them overcome the problem of hiring labour during the peak agriculture season.
Earlier, the Minister took part in the Kumbhabikshem of Kodandarama Swamy temple in the village. District agriculture officer P Satya Vani and others were present.

Chandigarh administration expands electric vehicle incentives, increases quota for e-cars
1 2 Chandigarh: In a bid to jumpstart the city's sluggish EV adoption, the UT administration has rolled out fresh initiatives to reignite public interest. As part of the renewed push for e-mobility, the incentive framework under the Chandigarh Electric Vehicle Policy-2022 has been expanded, following a sharp decline in e-car registrations after the initial incentive quota was exhausted. Under the original policy, the first 2,000 electric four-wheelers registered in the city were eligible for incentives of up to Rs 1.5 lakh, calculated at Rs 5,000 per kWh of fixed battery capacity. This quota was exhausted in Nov 2023, after which the number of e-cars being registered dropped significantly. From Nov to March 2024, only around 200 e-cars were registered. In the first quarter of the current financial year, it is learnt that not a single e-car was registered out of the 1,188 EVs recorded. To address this, the UT Electric Vehicle Advisory Committee, in its meeting held on Thursday, decided to increase the quota by another 1,500 e-cars, making them eligible for incentives under the policy. The administration also confirmed that incentives for the 200 e-cars registered after the original quota was exhausted (applications for which were pending) will be released within 15 days. A new insurance incentive of up to Rs 5,000 will be introduced for e-bikes priced under Rs 1.5 lakh. For e-cycles, the upper limit of the monetary incentive is being increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. As per the policy, the first 25,000 e-cycles purchased during the policy period are eligible for a 25% subsidy on the cost of the bicycle, subject to the cap. The meeting, chaired by UT chief secretary Rajeev Verma, also reviewed the progress of EV charging infrastructure and discussed expansion. The final decision on the revised incentives and related measures will be submitted to the UT administrator for approval before implementation. The administration has set a target of achieving 18% EV penetration by the end of the current financial year. In FY 2024–25, Chandigarh had already reached 13.5% EV penetration, ranking third in the country, only behind Tripura and Delhi. Jaipur: The state govt will launch the 'Rajasthan AI Policy 2025' soon. Through this policy, the govt seeks to establish the state as a leading destination for digital innovation and creative technological advancement within the country. This policy is built on three main pillars: first, special efforts will be made at the govt level to adopt ethical and responsible artificial intelligence. Second, skill development and research will be promoted in the state. Third, a robust and comprehensive digital infrastructure will be developed. Ujjain IT Park to get an expansion with phase 2
Indore: The information technology (IT) Park in Ujjain, currently under development, will undergo expansion to phase two, accommodating a larger number of technology firms and startups. Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has appointed a developer for the second phase, which will span approximately 1.5 acre. "Plan for the second phase of IT Park has been sanctioned and a developer has been appointed for developing the project. The plan is to create an ecosystem and enhance an infrastructure for the IT and startup sector. Their is a lot of demand from tech firms for a well-equipped space for IT companies. The phase 1 has garnered very good response and we are hoping full occupancy in the second phase also," said MPIDC executive director in Ujjain Rajesh Rathod. Estimated cost for phase two is around Rs 50 crore. The completion deadline for first phase of the IT Park is Dec 2026. In the first phase of the IT Park, around 20 technology firms have submitted expressions of interest (EOI), primarily from Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal. It will feature an incubation centre, furnished office spaces, plug-and-play facilities, and a shared research facility specifically designed for technology firms. The IT Park is projected to generate 500 direct jobs and over 1000 indirect employment opportunities, supporting the local economy through phased growth as companies establish their operations, according to MPIDC.
