Sunjay Kapur wanted to ‘live 100 years' for son, wife Priya Sachdev's ‘opinion and advise ruled his life', recalls Kalyani Chawla: ‘His pursuance of longevity…'

Kalyani Chawla, who appeared in the latest season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, wrote a post in remembrance of the late Sunjay Kapur. The businessman died recently in a freak accident. He went into cardiac arrest after accidentally swallowing a bee while playing polo in England. Sunjay was earlier married to Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor, with whom he has two children. He has two more children with wife Priya Sachdev. In her post, Kalyani wrote that Sunjay's quest for a long life was 'ironic', as he died before his time. According to her, he wanted to live till the age of 100 for his younger son.
Sharing a carousel of their pictures together, she wrote, 'Sunjay and my friendship over three decades now, have been on so many terms. One of his main grouse was me posting so much on Instagram. Though so happy to pose with that typical expression. Some of these images are from his posts, the captions say it all. He was someone I could rely on even if I didn't speak to him for weeks. From driving through torrential rain when he had six hours in Delhi in between his travels, to come calm a distraught me, monitoring me long distance or give me guidance with my business or to endlessly lecture me about my questionable choices, he was insufferable at times and we bickered like siblings. He supported every venture of mine be it with my Art or Rezon, spurring me on always proud of my serial entrepreneurship.'

She continued, 'His love for Tahira was unequivocal. The most fun person for every generation. Sunjay's dedication and commitment to whatever he took on was borderline obsessive and competitive. He had to be the best in whatever he took on. Be it polo or taking on his father's mantle of the business.'
Kalyani continued, 'His marriage to Priya, a strong willed woman of great intelligence, whose opinion and advise ruled his life. Sunjay loved public speaking and was excellent at it. But no matter the subject, Priya's name was mentioned in every other sentence. His priority was his wife and children. His pursuance of longevity of his life span is now ironic and cruel as he told me how he had to be the fittest father for little Azarius and live a 100 years minimum.'
This was Sunjay's third marriage — he was previously married to stylist Nandita Mehtani and Karisma. Priya was previously married to restaurateur Vikram Chatwal.

Expressing her admiration for Sunjay, she concluded, 'I was there with Tahira watching him play his first ever polo match in wonderment of knowing it's been less than a year he started this very difficult sport and learnt riding to begin with. How quick and easily he went off riding into the sunset, doing something he loved the most… leaving behind a legacy of love respect and hero worship. I am so so fortunate to have had him as part of my life. So lucky to call him family, the third sister. So lucky to have his love support and unflinching loyalty. My James Bond has left me and everyone whose life he touched even if briefly, shaken, stirred and gutted. @priyaskapur ♥️.'
In an interview conducted just a few months before his death, Sunjay had said that he'd put together a 10-year plan, having stepped away from a central role in his family's Sona Comstar business. 'When I drew up my 10-year plan, I actually wrote down the broad strokes of work-related and non-work related, foundation-related… I flushed out 2025 to define what I will do. I'm not the sort of person who can sit around without a packed schedule. It's a great luxury to be the master of your own time,' He said on the Indian Silicon Valley podcast.'

'Work 70 hours a week for your bosses until you are replaced by AI': Shark Tank trolls working professionals

As Shark Tank India opens registrations for its much-awaited Season 5, the entrepreneurial show has taken an unexpectedly hard-hitting route to reach its audience. Instead of the usual rousing pitch to aspiring founders, the official Instagram page dropped a satirical promo that took direct aim at India's overworked, underappreciated workforce—and the glorification of bosses they help enrich. The 1-minute-40-second video is unapologetically sarcastic. It begins with the line, 'Many people in India are witness to poverty from their ₹150 crore penthouse because these poor CEOs still can't afford a flat in Burj Khalifa,' immediately setting the tone for what's to come. From there, it pulls no punches, suggesting viewers continue to 'work overtime—70 hours a week for your bosses' and 'keep going until you are replaced by AI.' Clearly, the promo's creators are not here to sugarcoat. They're flipping the conventional motivational narrative that glorifies hustle under corporate masters. Instead, they're encouraging viewers to break free from toxic cycles of loyalty and exploitation. As the video continues, the satire deepens, portraying the absurdity of working endlessly to make rich bosses richer while personal dreams remain unfulfilled. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sony LIV (@sonylivindia) In a brilliant twist of irony, the caption beneath the post reads: 'Stay loyal — keep turning your millionaire bosses into billionaires. Shark Tank India Season 5 registrations are now open but don't register.' And just when it seems like the message might be purely cynical, the video ends with a pointed voiceover: 'Save your billionaire boss, and do not apply for Shark Tank India Season 5. Because here, it's not about your boss's business, it's about building your own.' The bold creative direction has already struck a chord with viewers. Social media users called it 'brilliant,' 'relatable,' and 'too close to home.' In a country where hustle culture is often glamorised and burnout is brushed aside, Shark Tank's new campaign is a rare moment of media self-awareness. Makers reveal the real pain of millionaire bosses This sharp-edged marketing approach taps into a larger societal discontent around job security , long work hours , and automation fears—especially the anxiety that even all-night grinds might one day be replaced by a software update. By mocking the very culture that keeps people from starting up, Shark Tank India's latest promo cleverly positions itself as the antidote. It doesn't just open doors for business ideas; it throws shade on the systems that prevent those ideas from ever being pursued.
