Four nights in Prague and Budapest including flights, train and tour
With their impressive 4.7 TripAdvisor rating reflecting consistently excellent customer service, Orbis Travels has crafted a seamless four-night adventure that transforms the often daunting prospect of multi-city European travel into an effortless journey of discovery.
The package includes flights from Scotland, accommodation, and crucially, train travel between the two cities, eliminating the stress of coordinating complex logistics.
Prague's Old Town Square serves as the perfect introduction to this enchanting city. The Gothic spires of Týn Church pierce the sky like something from a Brothers Grimm tale, whilst the baroque splendour of St. Nicholas Church provides a stunning counterpoint. But Prague's magic extends far beyond its architectural treasures.
No visit is complete without ascending Prague Castle, the world's largest ancient castle complex. Perched majestically above the city, it offers sweeping views across the red-tiled rooftops to the meandering Vltava River. Inside, St. Vitus Cathedral showcases some of Europe's finest Gothic architecture, whilst the Old Royal Palace whispers tales of Bohemian kings.
For a quintessentially Prague experience, venture across the iconic Charles Bridge at dawn. As morning mist rises from the river, the 14th-century stone bridge, adorned with baroque statues, feels almost mystical.
Later, explore the trendy Vinohrady district, where art nouveau buildings house contemporary galleries, craft beer bars, and innovative restaurants serving modern Czech cuisine that goes far beyond the hearty goulash stereotype.
The train journey from Prague to Budapest becomes part of the adventure itself, with Orbis Travels arranging tickets in advance.
(Image: Budapest is both bohemian and cultured)
This scenic seven-hour journey winds through Moravian vineyards and Slovakian countryside, offering glimpses of rural Central Europe that remain unchanged for centuries. Budapest reveals itself in layers. The hilly Buda side, crowned by the majestic Royal Palace, surveys the flat Pest side across the mighty Danube. This geographical divide creates a city of stunning contrasts and perpetual visual drama.
The Parliament building, an architectural masterpiece inspired by the Houses of Parliament in London, dominates the Pest skyline. Its Gothic Revival spires and dome create one of Europe's most photographed facades, particularly when illuminated at night. Inside, the crown jewels of Hungary rest in splendour, testament to the nation's royal heritage.
As evening falls, Budapest transforms into one of Europe's most dynamic nightlife destinations.
The famous ruin pubs, like Szimpla Kert, occupy crumbling buildings filled with mismatched furniture, bathtubs-turned-planters, and an atmosphere that's both bohemian and utterly magnetic.
What sets this package apart is the thoughtful curation.
Orbis Travels' excellent customer service reputation stems from their attention to detail and staff expertise, ensuring travellers experience these cities' highlights without the usual pitfalls of independent travel.
From Scottish airports to Central European capitals, every element flows seamlessly.

Majorca 'dupe' has beautiful beaches, no crowds and £1.99 beers
It's often overlooked by tourists flocking to the likes of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, but La Gomera is a peaceful paradise that should be on every travel lover's list When the Canary Islands spring to mind, you're likely to envision places like Tenerife and Gran Canaria - teeming with tourists, lively nightlife, and golden beaches. But what if you're seeking something a bit more serene? There's one Canary Island that often gets overlooked, and that's exactly what makes it unique. La Gomera is a tranquil haven just a brief ferry journey from Tenerife and a sanctuary for those in search of peace. It is a perfect place for a holiday, with its verdant landscapes and dramatic cliffs. Unlike its busier counterparts, La Gomera isn't swamped with tourists. That is why it has been named one of six dupes for Majorca. The Spanish Balearic island receives a colossal 17.8 million tourists each year, which can leave the place feeling a little overwhelming. The travel experts at Eurochange have shared lesser-known holiday spots across Europe that have several similarities to the popular Balearic destination. And, there are still plenty of incredibly cheap direct UK flights available this August. Right now, it is possible to book direct return flights to Tenerife from Glasgow, Birmingham, and Edinburgh, starting from £87 in August. From there, it's just a 50-minute ferry to La Gomera. Hotels on available from £50 per night, while beer will set you back just £1.99 and the average meal out costs £11.95. The island offers a slower pace of life, making it the ideal spot to rejuvenate and reconnect with nature. Even better, it can reach temperatures of 21 °C in March with up to ten hours of sunshine each day, providing a heavenly escape from the northern European winter. Flights to Tenerife often cost less than £110, and from there, it's a picturesque 50-minute ferry ride to La Gomera. The journey itself is an adventure, with views of the shimmering Atlantic and, if you're fortunate, a chance to spot dolphins. The island's crown jewel is Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Blanketed in ancient laurel forests, the park feels like something out of a fairytale. La Gomera is also sprinkled with charming villages that seem frozen in time. Vallehermoso, with its vibrant houses and welcoming locals, is a must-see. Don't miss Agulo, often dubbed the "pearl of La Gomera" for its stunning views and cobbled streets. Food lovers will be smitten with La Gomera's distinctive cuisine. Give "almogrote," a rich cheese spread, a go, or try "miel de palma," a sweet syrup derived from palm trees. While the beaches here may not be as expansive as those in Tenerife, La Gomera has some hidden treasures. Playa de Santiago is a tranquil spot to bask in the sun, while Valle Gran Rey boasts striking black-sand beaches and spectacular sunsets.

Huge new £200m UK water park being built with swimming pools, slides and attractions
North American water park giant Great Wolf Lodge has chosen the UK as the home of its first European location. The indoor resort will include a pools, slides, guest suites and more While public lidos are a mainstay of the UK, an indoor water park is the ultimate way to beat the heat wave. Luckily a new indoor park is set to open in Bicester and it's packed with family-friendly attractions. With water parks scattered across Canada and the US, Great Wolf Lodge is behind North America's largest family of indoor resorts. Nearly thirty years after opening its first resort in Wisconsin, Great Wolf Lodge is finally opening their first European resort in Bicester. Bicester was selected for the inaugural European site because of its proximity to London and other major cities. It also conveniently links to the motorways, making it as easy as possible - for as many families as possible - to make the trek. It comes after an exciting heatwave forecast with maps reveals the exact date a 39C heat plume will scorch the UK. Tenerife has 'world's best water park' - and it's open all year round The new Great Wolf Lodge promises to provide 'a one-of-a-kind family resort experience'. It will be set on an old golf course in Chesterton near Bicester. The park will include 'an incredible array of attractions, entertainment offerings and dining options' but is currently still under construction. According to Great Wolf Lodge, the resort should be 'completed by the end of the summer' although it was originally planned to be complete in 'late 2024'. Great Wolf Lodge says they worked closely with Chesterton Parish Council, Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council to prepare the now-approved scheme. The new resort is expected to cost approximately £200 million to complete and, according to the company, will create 1,000 jobs during the construction phase and roughly 600 jobs when the resort is up and running. In addition to the Bicester resort, the company also has plans for two other proposed UK water parks: in Derbyshire and Hampshire. Both the proposed Great Wolf Lodge Derbyshire and Great Wolf Lodge Hampshire will have approximately 500 guest rooms 'designed specifically for families and are available in a variety of themes and sizes'. The resort will be 50,000m² and will include the indoor water park, an adventure park and dining facilities. The guest suites will be situated at the centre of the site for optimal views and access. Families will have the option of staying on site for an extended holiday or purchasing a one-day pass. That said, there are currently no dates for construction work to begin on the Derbyshire or Hampshire sites. Great Wolf Lodge has only confirmed that the proposed entrance and exit for the Derbyshire site is on the A619 (Worksop Road) and will be located between Barlborough and Whitwell, around a mile from the centre of Clowne. Great Wolf Lodge Hampshire's proposed entrance and exit is via the Worting Road roundabout and will be located between Basingstoke Leisure Park and Moniton Trading Estate.
