Bob Hawke's wife Blanche d'Alpuget doesn't look like this anymore! The late Prime Minister's widow debuts makeover as she promotes her latest X-rated novel
Blanche d'Alpuget, who became a widow in 2019 after her husband passed away, featured in a video posted to Facebook last week by Abbey's Bookshop.
In the clip, the 81-year-old wore a bold makeup look and heavy rouge on her cheeks as she encouraged fans to buy her new book The Bunny Club.
She wrapped up warm in a neutral-toned puffer jacket as she visited the iconic Sydney bookstore, accessorising with a red beret, a patterned scarf and pearl earrings.
Her hair, usually voluminous and curled, was a far cry from her signature do as it lay flat on her head in a short, straight bob.

'There's plenty of s-e-x in it,' she told her fans of her new novel.
Adding her saucy take on the 'murder mystery' genre, she revealed that it's 'not clear if it's murder or a sex game gone wrong.'
'Blanche D'Alpuget delivers a gripping novel that unravels the shocking death of 'Australia's darling', the nation's most beloved and recognisable morning television presenter, found dead under mysterious and disturbing circumstances in her Southern Highlands home,' the caption read.
In 2020, Blanche sensationally claimed in a bombshell biography that her late husband Bob had four affairs while he was prime minister and was addicted to sex.
The revered politician had about four 'serious affairs' while national leader from 1983 until 1991, his widow told the writers of Bob Hawke: Demons and Destiny.
Hawke was married to his wife Hazel from 1956 until their divorce in 1995; the affair with d'Alpuget began in 1976 and went on and off before starting again in 1988.
She said Hawke's behaviour would be classed as a sex addiction.
'At the end of a day of intense activity, he somehow had to let off steam, as it were, and there's nothing like a roll in the hay or five to do that,' d'Alpuget said.
The book claims Hawke's charm saw countless women mesmerised, with women throwing themselves at him in the 1960s and 1970s.
If rejected, Hawke was known to be brutal.
Former tourism minister John Brown also recalled how Hawke 'constantly' chased women - and wasn't remotely discreet, according to excepts from the book seen by The Australian.
Ex-union secretary Bill Kelty, who worked with Hawke at the Australian Council of Trade Unions, said the politician would routinely sleep with women during drinking benders which lasted until the early hours of the morning.
'Bob would drink, he would f**k somebody, and he would gamble until 2.30am or 3.30am in the morning - and then when the ACTU executive started at 9am in the morning, he was the second one there and he was fine,' Kelty recalled.
Hawke famously gave up alcohol throughout his leadership despite being a heavy drinker in his trade union days.

Pictured: The fisherman charged with interfering with police investigation into Pheobe Bishop's alleged murder
The third person hit with charges linked to the disappearance and murder of teenager Pheobe Bishop has been unmasked as a keen fisherman who goes by 'The Crabman'. Police charged 30-year-old Kieren Daniel Mittelheuser with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder, alleging he used Ms Bishop's mobile phone to interfere with investigations. Mittelheuser was taken into custody outside a local fast food outlet in Bundaberg West, in south east Queensland, around 7pm on Tuesday. The arrest occurred one day after family and friends farewelled the 17-year-old at a private service. He has also been charged with drug possession, driving while disqualified, failing to appear, breaching bail and fraud. The fraud charge refers to the use of a credit card that is linked to the accessory after the fact charge, Bundaberg paper NewsMail reported. Mittelheuser is a father but is not believed to have lived with his child recently. He appeared nonchalant on his social media, posting a day before the teenager's remains were found that he didn't care whether his foot hung off the bed or not. Ms Bishop was last seen near Bundaberg airport about 8.30am on May 15 after booking a trip to Western Australia to see her boyfriend. A massive search was launched in the park by authorities who traced Ms Bishop's phone there Queensland Police allege that housemates, Tanika Bromley and James Wood, drove her close to the airport in a grey Hyundai, but no one left the car. She was allegedly murdered and her body was moved more than once from the Good Night Scrub National Park, an hour's drive from the airport. Phone data led officers to the national park where her remains were found on June 6. Wood, 34, and Bromley, 33, remain behind bars and will front court on August 11, charged with murder and interfering with a corpse. Mittelheuser did not appear in person but instead dialled in by phone for his court mention on Wednesday. Mark Zeller, a solicitor with Indigo Law, acted as duty lawyer. He did not apply for bail and no pleas have been entered. Mittelheuser will next appear in court via video link on August 25. Multiple candlelit vigils attended by hundreds have been held across Bundaberg and Gin Gin in recent weeks, remembering how Ms Bishop lived life to the fullest. Six weeks after Ms Bishop disappeared, family and friends laid the 'free-spirited' teen to rest while donning bright colours at a service on Monday. None of those alleged to be involved with her murder have yet entered any pleas. Ms Bishop was reported missing in late May, prompting a wide search of bushland and the home she shared with Bromley and Wood. Wood was taken into custody first on June 6 where he has been assisting police with their inquiries. Bromley was taken into custody soon after where she was charged with the same offences as Wood. The pair are each facing one count each of murder, and two counts each of interfering with a corpse. Police allege Ms Bishop was killed, her body transported in a grey Hyundai, and moved twice before being buried in remote national parkland.

Now based in Sydney, Hannah's credits include the Aussie-Indonesian hit Bali 2002. But, her new gig on Home and Away marks a proper return to the soap scene. This year, the iconic Aussie soap celebrated a whopping 35 years on air, with special reruns on a dedicated channel to mark the milestone. Forgotten soap star shows off huge £27million LA mansion after quitting fame and marrying a multimillionaire Home and Away first hit screens on January 17, 1988. 'She loved dipping her toes back into the world of soap briefly and who knows it could mean she finds her way back more permanently.' Forgotten soap storylines The nation's soaps have had many gripping storylines play out over the years. However, some plots proved to be far less memorable. Here are some forgotten stories from Weatherfield, Walford and more... Coronation Street Ken and Audrey's romance (2015): After the death of wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride), Coronation Street original Ken Barlow (William Roache) started to move on in his life. He started to develop a spark with old friend Audrey (Sue Nicholls), with then-Corrie boss saying it would be like "Ross and Rachel". In the end, nothing ever came of it and the two remained platonic pals. Beth's bigamy (2016): Despite being happily married to Kirk (Andrew Whyment), a troubling secret came to light about Beth Tinker (Lisa George). It transpired that she had never divorced from her first husband, Darryl (Paul Loughran), father of her son Craig (Colson Smith). Although Craig and Kirk were shocked - and Beth was arrested - the storyline didn't didn't go much further. EastEnders Kat Slater's secret son (2017): Capitalising on the popularity of Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie), the two received a spin-off back in 2017. Titled 'Redwater', it saw the two travel to Ireland where they met long-lost son Luke, now called Dermott Dolan, played by Oisín Stack. Despite the high-tension events during Redwater, Kat seems to have put the experience behind her as Dermott's not been mentioned since. Alfie's brain tumour (2015): Having learned in 2015 that he had a brain tumour, Alfie kept the news from Kat until their trip to Ireland. At the time, actor Shane Ritchie revealed fans would see a change in Alfie as he battled the illness. It would appear that at some point after leaving the Square, was told the tumour was non-malignant. By the time Alfie returned in 2022, fans were left confused over what had happened to the storyline. Kathy and Buster's affair (2016): In 2016, Walford legend Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) fell into the arms of convict Buster Briggs, played by Karl Howman. Buster was the long-time lover of Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and fathered both her sons - Mick (Danny Dyer) and Dean (Matt Di Angelo). When Buster left, he begged Kathy to join him, but she refused for the sake of her family. Meanwhile Buster didn't even stop to say goodbye to Shirley before exiting with a broken heart. Fans expected a showdown between the two women, but this never came to pass. Emmerdale Jacob's OCD (2016): After his dad, David (Matthew Wolfenden), was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) developed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This manifested in the form of cleaning. Jacob's OCD made a brief return one year on, after David had another scare after finding a lump. Jacob frantically searched the bins for a 'lucky coin' that had accidentally been thrown away. Despite stressful situations - such as being groomed by his teacher Maya, losing his fiancee Leanna to a serial killer, dealing with mum Leyla's drug addiction, and surviving a stabbing - the condition doesn't appear to have returned. Marlon and Charity's fling (2003): Few fans would likely remember few will remember the one-night stand between Charity (Emma Atkins) and Marlon (Mark Charnock) in 2003. The pair slept together when Charity was staying with Marlon while still under suspicion for husband Chris's supposed "murder". Hollyoaks Alex Browning's revenge plot (2014): Fans expected a confrontation when Dr Browning's son Alex (Ojan Genc) mer stepmum Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe). After all, Mercedes, with Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Lindsey Butterfield (Sophie Austin) had murdered Alex's dad, double-murderer Dr Paul Browning, after he kidnapped and attacked his new wife. In fact, the soap teased Alex would seek revenge for his father's death upon arriving. However, he instead gave Cindy's son Hilton (his half-brother) a life-saving transplant, became his godfather, and leaving the village soon after. The new role comes three years after Hannah tied the knot to former The Bill star husband Huw Higginson. Huw is most notable for his ten-year role in The Bill as PC George Garfield. Huw posted a celebratory shot showing their special day in October 2022 as they posed with their son Jack, 11, on a boat in Sydney. The Bill actor gushed in his caption: "Got married to my love yesterday. We had the best of days." Hannah can be seen gazing lovingly at her spouse as they celebrated their special day. She wore a patterned, long-sleeve blue frock - perhaps as her something blue - complete with gold strappy sandals and a navy pashmina. She clutched a bouquet of cream flowers and accessorised with a pair of sunglasses. The happy couple made the move to Australia in 2014. It came after Hannah married fellow EastEnders star Ricky Groves in 2006. But, the pair separated in 2010 and divorced in 2014. 4 4

Inspirational burns survivor Turia Pitt reveals new career move after being forced to change her life as she was 'pushing her own needs aside'
Burns survivor Turia Pitt has launched her new book. The Aussie athlete, who was tragically caught in a grassfire while competing in a 100km ultra-marathon in 2011, has released her latest project titled Selfish, which examines 'how to unlearn the rules that are breaking you'. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 37-year-old revealed that she thought the word 'selfish' was in need of a rebrand, encouraging people to empower themselves and take the right measures to avoid burnout. 'We're told that being selfish is bad. That we should always think of others, put everyone else first, push our own needs aside,' she wrote in the post's caption. 'I bought into that story. And it led me straight to burnout. This is the book I wish I had during that time.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. She went on to say that she wrote the book for people who have ever felt 'stretched too thin, lost, or like you're living by someone else's rules.' Selfish, which is Turia's fifth book, is set to hit shelves in October but can be pre-ordered now. In 2023, it was revealed that the much-anticipated movie about Pitt starring Home and Away actress Tammin Sursok had stalled. In 2019, Tammin announced she was set to play the courageous athlete who sustained horrific burn injuries to 64 percent of her body in a wildfire 14 years ago. But Turia told The Daily Telegraph that further talks with the US-based actress had been put off. 'That was on the cards but not at the moment,' the mother of two said of the proposed biopic. She added: 'It is not something that is at the top of my priority list. Every day, I am not like, ''let's try and get this movie made''. I am not doing that at all.' 'Whether or not a film gets made, I don't really think it is in my control. 'I think I would be (involved),' she said. 'That would be really weird if someone made a movie and I just saw it on the TV. That would be quite strange.' In 2011, Turia survived against the odds after getting caught in a wildfire while competing in an ultramarathon in Western Australia. The Celebrity Apprentice star was left with horrific burns and later became a motivational speaker. In 2023, she opened up about the aftermath of the tragedy 11 years on, and said she 'wanted to die' during the early stages of her hospitalisation. Fortunately, Turia found the will to live and she went on to become a successful motivational speaker who has shared her story with thousands of people. Meanwhile, Sursok is best known to viewers for her role as the character of Dani Sutherland in Home in Away. The South African-born Australian star appeared in the iconic soap from 2000 to 2004. Turia
