EXO's D.O to return as solo act: report
D.O of EXO is gearing up for renewed solo activities, according to a local media report Thursday.
He is putting together a full album to be released in early July at the latest, the report added. His latest endeavor was third solo EP 'Blossom' a year ago. The solo set topped iTunes top albums charts in 36 regions. The track 'Mars' landed atop top songs charts in 23 regions, while prerelease 'Popcorn' did so in 17.
Earlier this year, D.O dropped the winter single 'Snowfall at Night,' while just last month he sang 'Forever' for hit medical drama 'Resident Playbook.'
The singer and actor also starred in 'Secret: Untold Melody,' which came out on the big screen in January, and will appear in Disney+ drama series 'The Manipulated.'
In July, he will kick off a solo Asia tour from Seoul. The tour includes stops in Taiwan capital Taipei, Indonesia's Jakarta, Manila in the Philippines, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a result of MBC's decision to air "Big Bet," "Judge Lee Han-young," an adaptation of a popular Naver webtoon, has been pushed back to early 2026. The drama, which features a cast including Ji Sung, Won Jin-ah and Park Hee-soon, follows a judge who, after his unjust demise, returns to the past to deliver righteous judgments. The statement accused MBC of bypassing producers in making the programming decision, and warned of a potential fallout with the series' cast. "Due to the management's decision to schedule 'Big Bet,' 'Judge Lee Han-young' now requires renegotiation with its lead actors,' it read. The producers are demanding a full reconsideration of the "Big Bet" rollout, the restoration of decision-making authority to drama teams, and reforms to what they call profit-centered management practices. Meanwhile, this is not the first time MBC has broadcast content from streaming services to fill its drama slots. In January, the network aired the Disney+ blockbuster "Moving," broadcasting two episodes every Sunday. 'One: High School Heroes' brings to life smash-hit webtoon

"One: High School Heroes," Wavve's latest original series, is set to premiere this Friday with a star-studded ensemble, including Lee Jung-ha, best known as the superpowered lead of the Disney+ series "Moving," and Yuk Jun-seo, the breakout heartthrob from Netflix's "Single's Inferno." The coming-of-age action drama centers on Eui-gyum (played by Lee), a top student burdened by his domineering father. He teams up with Yoon-gi (Kim Do-wan) to form a covert masked vigilante group determined to confront school violence head-on. Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, which has amassed over 65 million views, the series promises a faithful adaptation of the original narrative. 'The series will have a storyline that's almost identical to the original work,' director Lee Sung-tae said during a press conference held Wednesday in Seoul's Gwangjin-gu. Joining him is Yuk, who has been steadily rising through the entertainment ranks following his appearances on "The Iron Squad," Netflix's "Sweet Home," and the dating reality show "Single's Inferno" season four. In "One: High School Heroes," he plays enigmatic transfer student Lee Gul-jae, a fan-favorite character from the webtoon. 'It's a uniquely charming character with an already established fanbase. I focused on preserving that without damaging it,' said Yuk. 'Honestly, it feels almost embarrassing for me to be here as an actor. I auditioned and got the role before my identity as an actor was even fully formed. I'm sure the director had a lot of concerns. I spent a lot of time trying to make the role feel more like 'me.'" Yuk also spoke about the physically demanding nature of the role, which required him to lean into his real-life background serving in the South Korean military's Underwater Demolition Team. 'For this project, I focused on delivering intense action that could amplify my UDT background. There were more physical scenes than dialogue. ... The character needed to use his body actively and perform some unusual action scenes. It's the kind of action I'll never forget for the rest of my life,' he said.

Seventeen's 5th LP sells over 2 million, tops Melon chart
The fifth studio album from Seventeen sold more than 2.26 million units on the day of its release, while the main track from the album notched the No. 1 spot on Melon's Top 100, after having debuting at No. 7. The LP 'Happy Burstday' dropped on Monday. Six tracks from the album, including focus track 'Thunder,' were among the top ten on the largest music chart in Korea. The album topped iTunes top albums charts in 15 regions, as did the lead single on top songs charts in 13 regions. The 13-member band unveiled 'Thunder' in advance at its free outdoor concert in Seoul on Sunday evening. The group took over a bridge on the Han River and celebrated the pending release of the album as well as the group's 10th anniversary.
