Man Utd Scouts Attended Liverpool-PSG to Scout Player Who's Valued at Over €100M

Yahoo12-03-2025
Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on a Paris Saint-Germain player, and there's so much interest that the Red Devils have already scouted him across two matches.
The Parisians bring in quality young talent to fight for their minutes, but sometimes, it doesn't work out for them. Nonetheless, due to PSG buying young, they can likely recoup all or most of what they spent such as the case with Manuel Ugarte.
Ugarte won't be the first nor the last player that sees this occur to them. As for the team who bought the Uruguayan, Manchester United, they could be looking at another young player to pursue this summer window.
Stretty News reported on Friday, citing sources, that Manchester United scouted Desire Doue during the Champions League clash between PSG and Liverpool on Wednesday.
The report also claims that the Red Devils' scouts had also attended PSG's domestic contest against Lille, which saw him start for Luis Enrique's side, marking his outing with a goal and an assist.
While United would love to bring one of Europe's top young talents into their squad, Stretty News reports, citing sources, that the task remains challenging. The Parisians reportedly value Desire Doue at over €100 million, making it uncertain whether the Reds will turn their interest into a formal move.

Mikel Jauregizar: Amorim eyes Athletic Club midfielder to solve Man United's engine room puzzle

A midfield signing is expected at Manchester United as INEOS aims to close the summer transfer window in style. As promising as United have looked, glaring weaknesses remain in their engine room. Ruben Amorim has had a tricky task settling on the ideal midfield pivot. With Bruno Fernandes dropping deeper into central midfield, the Portuguese tactician must find the perfect partner for the Portuguese magnifico. Casemiro has been preferred, but he is no longer as athletic as he once was, leaving United's midfield exposed. The team has often struggled to dominate midfield battles when Fernandes and Casemiro have been paired. While a Kobbie Mainoo–Manuel Ugarte partnership has shown promise, the concern is where that leaves Fernandes, the heartbeat of this team. Finding Fernandes' perfect partner All signs point to Carlos Baleba. United are working hard to land the Brighton & Hove Albion star. But the move is proving difficult. The Red Devils must contend with Brighton's reluctance to sell, and if they do, they are demanding a record transfer fee. While there is hope United can close the deal, there is also a growing realisation that it may not happen. This is especially true after Brighton boss Fabian Hurzelar, in his latest press conference, told the media via the Evening Standard: 'I'm very, very, very confident he will stay. I didn't see any change; he only changed his hair. He is enjoying being a Brighton player.' Athletic Bilbao raid mooted With Baleba's deal uncertain, United need a Plan B. Spanish outlet Fichajes now report that Athletic Bilbao midfielder Mikel Jauregizar has been identified as an alternative. The 21-year-old is considered one of La Liga's finest up-and-coming midfield talents. Described as a dynamic central midfielder with a high defensive work rate, combative tackling and strong link-up play, Fichajes believe he is a perfect fit for Amorim's system. They write: 'Jauregizar is one of Athletic Club's great bets for the future. 'With a contract until 2031, last season he played 48 games under Ernesto Valverde, scoring three goals and providing three assists. 'His versatility in midfield and ability to cover large areas of the pitch make him an attractive profile for the Premier League.' A rough diamond, Jauregizar is Athletic Club's prized midfield prospect. If he lives up to the traits he has been labelled with, he could be polished into the quality central midfielder Amorim craves. However, with a long-term deal at San Mames and the new La Liga season about to kick off, negotiations may prove challenging. If not Baleba or Jauregizar, then who? According to Fichajes, Jauregizar is not the only La Liga midfield prospect on United's radar. Lucien Agoume and Javi Guerra are also being monitored. So while Baleba remains Plan A, United have a Plan B, C and D. Even with a sparkling new attack, it is the midfield winning battles that must lay the foundation for United's resurgence. It is promising to see the club doing everything possible not to miss out on this transfer. Featured image Michael Regan via Getty Images online polls Follow us on Bluesky: @

Manchester United Are Keeping Tabs On This La Liga Midfielder: Should Amorim Go For Him?

In a recent report, journalist Dean Jones mentioned that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume. It has been stated that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the French midfield ace. Agoume's Impressive Form In La Liga The 23-year-old enjoyed a solid campaign at the Andalusian club recently as he produced a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. Agoume made 37 appearances for Sevilla last season, scoring one goal and grabbing three assists in all competitions. The French talent was a solid presence when defending inside his half after he made 70 tackles, 30 blocks and 41 interceptions in La Liga. He even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 81.5% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, it won't be easy for the Red Devils to lure him away to Old Trafford on the cheap in this transfer window. VILLARREAL, SPAIN – MAY 11: Lucien Agoume of Sevilla FC is challenged by Alex Baena of Villarreal CF during the LaLiga EA Sports match between Villarreal CF and Sevilla FC at Estadio de la Ceramica on May 11, 2024 in Villarreal, Spain. (Photo by) Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Go For Agoume? Agoume is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and is an accurate passer of the ball as well. The French sensation is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Man United decide to move in for him this summer. Agoume would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Ruben Amorim's midfield department. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford this season. At 23, Agoume has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Red Devils to consider in this transfer period. With all things considered, Amorim would be wise to go for a midfielder of his skill set this summer as long as he can get him for a reasonable price.
