While fans savour another podium finish and an automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League group stage, there are plenty of questions surrounding the makeup of AS Monaco next season and even who may lead them on the sidelines.
With their 2-0 victory over Olympique Lyonnais last Saturday, Les Monégasques are guaranteed to finish in the top three for the 31st time, the most of any side in the French top flight.

Nearing the end of his second season with Monaco, manager Adi Hütter has had two hugely successful campaigns, though they had their share of bumps along the way in 2024-25.
The Austrian has achieved the goal of getting them into the Champions League in each of his two campaigns and is under contract until 2027.
At the same time, Bayer Leverkusen are looking for a new coach, with Xabi Alonso soon to take charge of Real Madrid. Hütter's success in the Principality and prior experience in the Bundesliga could see him return to Germany.
Hütter was named the Bundesliga Coach of the Season on two occasions at Eintracht Frankfurt, guiding them to the German Super Cup final in 2018. L'Équipe reports that Leverkusen would be interested in the Monaco boss even though they'd have to pay the Principality club compensation.

European leaders to join Ukraine's Zelenskyy for White House meeting with Trump

KYIV (AP) — European and NATO leaders announced Sunday that they'll be joining President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington for crucial talks with President Donald Trump, rallying around the Ukrainian leader after his exclusion from Trump's summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The remarkable move — with one European leader after another announcing that they'll be at Zelenskyy's side when he travels to the White House on Monday — was an apparent effort to ensure that the meeting goes better than the last one in February, when Trump berated the Ukrainian president in a heated Oval Office encounter. 'The Europeans are very afraid of the Oval Office scene being repeated and so they want to support Mr. Zelenskyy to the hilt,' said retired French Gen. Dominique Trinquand, a former head of France's military mission at the United Nations. 'It's a power struggle and a position of strength that might work with Trump," he said in a phone interview. The European leaders' presence at Zelenskyy's side, demonstrating Europe's support for Ukraine, could potentially help ease concerns in Kyiv and in other European capitals that Ukraine risks being railroaded into a peace deal that Trump says he wants to broker with Russia. It wasn't immediately clear whether all or just some of them would be taking part in the actual meeting with Trump. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on X that she will take part in the talks, "at the request of President Zelenskyy.' The secretary-general of the NATO military alliance, Mark Rutte, will also take part in the meeting, his press service said. The office of President Emmanuel Macron announced that the French leader will travel on Monday to Washington 'at the side of President Zelenskyy' although it didn't immediately specify that he'll be in the meeting. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will also be part of the European group, but the statement from his office likewise didn't specify that he will be in the talks with Trump. The grouped trip underscored European leaders' determination to ensure that Europe has a voice in Trump's attempted peace-making, after the U.S. president's summit on Friday with Putin — to which Zelenskyy wasn't invited.

Leverkusen eye move for ex-Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof

Bayer Leverkusen have set their sights on free agent Victor Lindelof to bolster their defence (h/t journalist Florian Plettenberg). Newly appointed manager Erik ten Hag has been overseeing a major rebuild this summer. Leverkusen have sold defenders Jonathan Tah and Odilon Kossounou to Bayern Munich and Atalanta, respectively, but have acquired Jarell Quansah from Newcastle United. Ten Hag is eyeing more central defenders and is considering the possibility of reuniting with Lindelof, who he worked with at Manchester United. The Swedish centre-back parted ways with the Red Devils when his contract expired in June. It concluded his seven-year spell at Old Trafford, during which he featured in 285 games. Lindelof was part of the United squad that won the FA Cup in 2023/24 under Ten Hag. Leverkusen appreciate the Swede's wealth of experience and leadership qualities, but they are yet to initiate concrete talks with him. Aston Villa, West Ham United, Fiorentina and several Serie A clubs have been linked with Lindelof, but none have made a suitable offer. Lindelof has been plagued with a series of injuries over the last few years, but he can rejuvenate his career at Leverkusen if he remains fully fit. Although he is not considered a long-term option, the Swede could be crucial to their Champions League ambitions in the upcoming season. Die Werkself are also working on a deal to sign Sevilla centre-back Loic Bade. He is rated at around €25 million.

European leaders to join Ukraine's Zelenskyy for White House meeting with Trump

KYIV -- European and NATO leaders will join Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his crucial meeting with President Donald Trump, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday. The move in relation to the key White House meeting on Monday is an apparent effort to prevent a repeat of the heated encounter Zelenskyy faced when he met Trump in the Oval Office in February. The European leaders' presence at Zelenskyy's side, demonstrating Europe's support for Ukraine, could potentially help ease concerns in Kyiv and in other European capitals that Zelenskyy risks being railroaded into a peace deal that Trump says he wants to broker with Russia. Von der Leyen, head of the European Union's executive branch, posted on X that 'at the request of President Zelenskyy, I will join the meeting with President Trump and other European leaders in the White House tomorrow.' In a quick succession Sunday, a stream of European leaders also announced that they'll be going. They included French President Emmanuel Macron, the chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, and the secretary general of the NATO military alliance, Mark Rutte. The grouped trip underscored European leaders' determination to ensure that Europe has a voice in Trump's attempted peace-making, after the U.S. president's summit on Friday with Russian leader Vladimir Putin — to which Zelenskyy wasn't invited.
